"Enjoy your basement, enjoy your conspiracies."

"Back here in reality, I will try to cover the world as it is."

It wasn't the best day to use the expression "enjoy your basement," but other than that... an interesting example of a TV talking head rejecting the normal project of responding to a caller.

What? That was not a crazy caller. I don't agree with him, but as crazy callers go he was wearing Randy Normals. The guy could have fielded that just fine with an argument, which he should have.

Eli Lake did some fine reporting when he was with The Washington Times. I don't go to The Daily Beast mych and so don't see his stuff much anymore. I should make a note to check out what he's doing these days.

Rampant anti-subterraneanism.

Good for Eli. It's a ridiculous caller and it may not be polite, but I get really tired of the conspiracies about Jooooooos from wackos (on 911 all the Joos were sent home before the attack - nuts). Enough already. No matter what Eli said, the caller would think, "He's probably a Joo in on it!"

It's refreshing to have an honest response.

It was a Democrat caller. They don't live in the basement. They live at Starbucks.

Why do these people watch C-Span? Doesn't their cable system have cartoon channels?

edutcher म्हणाले...

It's the typical Alinsky response.

When you hear someone articulate exactly what the Lefties are up to, call them a nut.

Crimso म्हणाले...

At least he didn't tell CSPAN to put a leash on their viewers.

Yeah that's the polite way of saying

'Fk you you fking moron'.

Nice.

How could you possibly "field" such a question beyond what Lake did? He said the question was nuts, which it was.

Washington politiians do spout off more about Israel than called for, and I sometimes think some of them ought to get hold of some actual Jews - also Israeli ones, if possible - and ask them what they think before they speak.

AIPAC have obviusly gotten to Eli Lake.

I would like to tell you if you are watching, sir, I regard you as a nonsense person.

That's awesome!

Methadras म्हणाले...

Yeah, the tired basement dwelling troll subterranean having mushrooms grow on them as they pour over maps, letters, lists, with strings attached to connection points looking for the patterns ala John Nash to justify their conspiracies really needs to be updated to something more modern.

"That's racist."

Some link led me to Michael Moore's web site yesterday. Truly, with all the non-partisan objectivity I can muster, the people that post there are barking mad. I've had more than a few high-functioning, mentally ill co-workers in my life but these nutters were beyond belief.

When you are a raving leftist, mental insanity comes with the territory. Don't believe me? Go look at the denizens of the left in Wisconsin during the protests. That is just a teeny tiny sampling of the collective depraved insanity that infests those that follow the ideology of death.

Huh. When it started playing in the background, I didn't even hear the Israel part other than "we don't have a dog in this fight." All I heard was jobs, problems and this country - all of which is totally true. Obnoxious and elitist the way he was cut off by that talking head and dismissed by that smug, well-fed guy.

No it wasn't. The caller was suspicious of the motives of congress people, especially as it relates to groups with plenty of lobbyist power. You don't share that suspicion?
And he was questioning why we are spending so much abroad when we have serious needs at home. You don't ever wonder that too?

I would like answers to those questions too, from people who want us to make these sacrifices, and I don't even have a basement. I probably agree with Lake, but he just didn't want to bother answering. He felt he shouldn't have to, or didn't have politically digestible answers. His bad.

The caller should have responded, "Feel free to apologize."

You know the people who can't see that the caller is a nut might well be themselves.

If I may paraphrase the caller's question, an international Jewish conspiracy is the only way to explain why US Senators have concerns over the Syrian civil war, Iranian influence in the Middle East, and the use of nerve gas on civilian populations. So, stop criticizing President Obama for deliberating for two years about what to do about Syria! If you criticize the President's deliberative process, you must be an Israeli tool.

The 19th century German Social Democrat August Bebel called anti-Semitism the socialism of stupid people.
