"Wausau woman finalist in potato chip flavor contest."

"[Karen] Weber's cheesy garlic bread is head-to-head against two other flavors: Sriracha hot sauce and chicken and waffles."

First prize is $1 million, which Weber says she'll spend on her children's education and maybe a new used car and shoes. She's "too middle class to really go crazy." It is a little crazy to want potato chips to taste like bread, but since chips that taste like waffles is also a finalist, who's to say what's really crazy?

$1 million dollars is redundant.

Oh! I was specifically trying not to do that.

Fixed.

It's like the way you can't eat just one potato chip.

Chicken and waffles?

I still don't believe it.

She should win, who wouldn't like cheesy garlic bread in potato chip form.

With that said, I sure hope she gets sound financial advice or that $1 million, make that $500K, will be gone in no time.

Pay off every debt she has first and put the retirement plan on good footing, then worry about kids who will have 40 years of earning power in front of them.

I'll bet there's considerable overlap between the Frito-Lay crowd and the Papa John crowd.

Wausau woman finalist in potato chip flavor contest? You mean they have potato chips that taste like tuna fish?

I've had all three.

I would vote chicken and waffles, because I'm ghetto fabulous.

39.6% goes straight to our waste-sucking Harry Reid government.

In other news - Titus submitted "hog" flavor and was promptly disqualified.

Chicken and waffles - together on one ship? Really?

If you can't abide chicken and waffles you're racist.

I don't like "$1 million" convention. Why not use SI prefixes?

If they start making Sriracha chips I will gain 75 pounds.

1) Lays has totally screwed the pooch on this one. Flavors are only sporadically available and some stores I've been to have never had all of them.

2)Sriracha isn't very spicy OR hot and doesn't taste anything like the sauce

3)Chicken and waffles: doesn't taste anything like chicken or waffles OR chicken AND waffles.
There is a sweetness and a pecan taste. Not very good.

4) Can't find the garlic bread any place.

5) I wrote a note to Lays and all I got was a 'we're so sorry and they are sooooooooo popular we can't keep up with demand'.

I think this is a lie.
I think they are intentionally screwing with availability to enhance interest.

This is fine for the 1st two weeks back in February but now it's almost MAY and I still can't find a flavor?

Lays can go suck a lemon because I've lost interest and am heading towards having vile thoughts about the company.

Nice marketing there Lays.

Yeah I ranted. Because I can.

Who needs Sriracha-flavored potato chips? Real men use Sriracha as a dip.

Kimchee flavored chips. Should have entered the contest because let us all face the facts here.

Kimchee flavored chips = genius!

:)

Meanwhile Mayor Bloomberg says this too shall not stand.

And if Food Manufactures can still sell the salt less potato chips that are legal, then they shall be limited to 3 oz. bags.

I want a mustard flavored Chip.

Heh. $1E6.

People won't understand.

Maui Onion was the best Lay's flavor EVER. I only ever saw them in WalMart, and only for one summer two (three?) years ago.

Not Sour Cream Onion. Not BBQ Onion. Maui Onion. Bring it back!

Unknown म्हणाले...

All three flavors are disgustingly bad.
But, it did get me to buy 3 bags so, great marketing.

The Sriracha flavored chips are very good. I like their slightly vinegary hotness.
