An observant grandmother spoke with a probation officer after finding a “bowl of weed” and four lighters in her grandson’s bag on First Avenue North West in Hungry Horse....
A drunk and mostly naked woman caught the attention of the Columbia Falls Police Department after she passed out in a car on Nucleus Avenue. The homeowner reported hearing a horn blaring and looking out her window to see someone slumped over in her vehicle. Upon investigation, she found the woman, who was extremely drunk and wearing only a shirt.
A cab driver was attacked by a fare while he was transporting her on Ninth Street West. Eventually she calmed down, paid him and said that while she couldn’t remember where she lived, she could walk the rest of the way home.

"Chihuahuas accused of chasing boy."
Headline at my favorite police blotter on the internet, at the Daily Inter Lake (from Montana). In addition to the chihuahua story, there's:

Ju mean dey come alla way from Juarez to chase some muchacho?
Edutcher...Kalispell, Montana seems to be home to many good Scots Irish.
¡Yo quiero abogado!
I think topless might qualify as mostly naked; bottomless qualifies as unmodified naked.
I hope that front seat was scotchguarded.
Scotch Irish, and I wouldn't count on it.
By the time Montana was settled, everybody was going west.
FYI, Wisconsin is shooting 22% from the field, while their opponents are at 10%. Apparently the first team to 20 points wins.
PS The cattle business in Montana was started by a man named Nelson Story who drove a herd up from Texas, so it's very possible there Germans, Mexicans, French, and anyone else you'd care to name.
Is this a retirement possibility?
Too bad it didn't kill him. Kid will probably be a leftist.
Enjoy the decline, assholes!

That's life here in the hood. Don't be hatin'.
You didn't include my favorite one:
"At 1:49 p.m., a pit bull was reported running around Mabel Street in Columbia Falls, nipping at people. The dog was contained by an animal control officer in the owner’s enclosed front porch. A note was left for the owner concerning the dog running at large and informing him that there is a warrant out for his arrest for unlawful hunting."
They didn't shoot the dog or take it to the pound - just put it in the porch and left a note, politely noting the owner's arrest warrant. Happens all the time where I live in Philly.....oh, well, never mind.
" A note was left for the owner concerning the dog running at large and informing him that there is a warrant out for his arrest for unlawful hunting."
I think that's for using his dog to hunt people without supervision.
A chihuahua should never be underestimated. Those nasty little teeth can chomp right through your Achilles tendon.
Small town life. Looking forward to getting back to MT - maybe 150 miles SW of there. Even smaller town. Big difference with a metro area of 3 million or so, where I am now. Should be soon.
Wonder if the long days in a long winter make the alcohol problems worse - though we are now into the part of the year with longer days than nights. They are maybe an hour or so from Canada there.
Chihuahuas are some bad little bastards. Anyone who has owned one can tell you. They'll take on a 50 times bigger dog to either run him off or die trying it. Mine never chased any people though.
During a stint as a meter reader in my youth, I braved Dobermans, Pit Bulls and geese only to sustain my only bite from a Chihuahua. The little bastards are dangerous!
Chihuahuas, vicious little snarling ankle biters, not.
My oldest daughter's boyfriend has four of them, my daughter has a cat. The upstairs is the cat's turf, when one of those little beasties wanders up there, within a minute there is a scared little doggie scampering down the stairs with the cat on his heels, looking triumphant.
Being on the cop beat had some very amusing moments, which was a very welcome thing, given how depressing and horrifying it could be.
Chihuahua's are like tiny ugly pit bulls.
As a child it seemed like every cranky old lady had one that took it as a personal mission to bite my feet as I went by on my bicycle.
To this day a chihuahua brings out my instinct to kick them into the next county.
