Great. I just got a Madagascar hedgehog and now it's already out of style.

Sometimes when you're jaded and cynical over reading headlines, blogs and Twitter all day you can view a video like this and get your faith back in this wonderful world, if not the people in it.

And somewhere, already, toy rainfrogs are being developed, to be ready in time for next Christmas.

Imagine spending more than a couple of minutes with that noise.

This is about what J J Watt and the Badgers expected to meet in the Rose Bowl two years ago.

But they make meaner Frogs down in Texas.

I wonder what its legs taste like.

Well, I guess we now know what a baby Yoda looks like.

Came back after a few hours to give it another chance. Nope. Still not cute.

I mean seriously, how is that little splop of frog flesh cute? It looks like its body short circuited somewhere and didn't let it complete it's development away from being a tadpole.

This thing reminds me too strongly of Popplers from Futurama. Except those weren't cute either.

"... Breeding is by direct development of eggs laid in its burrow and there is no aqueous tadpole stage."

When I cliked the video it came up with no sound, and I imaged it making this bull frog type belching sound, and my mind went "ewwwwww." Then I turned the sound up and heard the kittenish squeak and my mind went "awwwwww!". The high pitched sound must trigger some maternal instinct. I can't explain my reaction otherwise.

I also wondered about that, in regards to its sound. However, the babyish squeak wouldn't help it around terrier dogs. (Luckily there aren't too many in the rain forests!) My dog will only play with the toys that squeak; she loves to find the squeaker spot and bite away with gusto. The frog wouldn't stand a chance around here unless it kept its widdle mouth shut.

I thought this was the cutest little creature I've seen in .....a while.

Different strokes for different folks - this cheered me up.
