But generally if you look at how I've tried to govern over the last four years and how I'll continue to try to govern, I'm not driven by some ideological agenda. I am a pretty practical guy. And I just want to make sure that things work. And one of the nice things about never having another election again, I will never campaign again, is I think you can rest assured that all I care about is making sure that I leave behind an America that is stronger, more prosperous, more stable, more secure than it was when I came into office.Well, no, I'm not going to rest assured. Much as I would love these statements to be true, they make me nervous. And that assurance came right after the most partisan thing he said in the whole interview. The moderator, David Gregory, had asked Obama how "frustrated" he was about the difficulty of getting things done with Congress. Gregory asserted that people were constantly coming up to him saying "Don't they realize, all of them, the president, Republicans and Democrats, how frustrated we all are?" And President Obama showed a little irritation:
Well, I think we're all frustrated. The only thing I would caution against, David, is I think this notion of, "Well, both sides are just kind of unwilling to cooperate." And that's just not true. I mean if you look at the facts, what you have is a situation here where the Democratic party, warts and all, and certainly me, warts and all, have consistently done our best to try to put country first.Country first. Where'd he come up with that slogan?
Then Obama started inching away from this assertion that the Democrats are better. He shifts to more neutral boilerplate about trying "to work with everybody involved to make sure that we've got
an economy grows" and "Make sure that it works for everybody. Make sure that
we're keeping the country safe." Then he retreats again, making abstract concessions (in question form):
And does the Democratic party still have some knee jerk ideological positions and are there some folks in the Democratic party who sometimes aren't reasonable? Of course. That's true of every political party. So are the Democrats better or not? He's melted into squishy blandness. And it's exactly here that he does the not-an-ideologue/practical-guy riff that appears at the beginning of this post.
१९२ टिप्पण्या:
Was this before or after he blamed Republicans for the so-called "fiscal cliff?"
A good example of why John Boehner gets that expression on his face when they ask him how "the negotiations" are going.
That knee jerk comment may be the signal that he's not signing up for gun control.
Is there any evidence anywhere that President Dickhead is anything other than a garden-variety, hopelessly insular leftwing pol?
A practical guy would acknowledge and make major changes to the looming entitlement problems. Raising tax rates on those making $250,000 and up will not only do very little to close the current deficits it will do nothing for the looming entitlement-led fiscal crisis. The only ones proposing major changes to entitlements are the Republicans. Not the Democrats and certainly not Obama. Gregory is a high capacity sycophant.
"I'm not a sucker for mere posing"
Don't be so modest as you were a sucker for er smitten w/mittens!
He's practical when he hands out tax payer backed loans to all his donors and cronies.
He simply does not know, or believe in what needs done. This is why he never should have been voted for the first time or the second. He's a sugar addict, and you put him in charge of the menu. It is not possible for him to fix what's broken.
If this country somehow survives this, and manages to turn itself around, it will be a testament to the power, energy and determination of her entrepreneurs, in spite of Obama, not because of him. He is a drain on our energy and motivation, and has been ideologically in that failed school his entire life.
You need to snap out of this denial of fact just because you wish it true for some reason. He will not help - he was a mistake.
Obama's appearance on "Meet The Press" is specifically targeted to the low information voter.
Case in point: The show plays on the TV at the laudromat that I occasionally visit. Not concerned or maybe slightly concerned will be doing their business and THIS will be time they pay attention. I can see them looking up from what they're doing and thinking "hey this guy sounds reasonable" then back to whatever they were doing. Then lo and behoold Republicans get blamed for this mess.
That's why Obama likes to go on these shows. He's not stupid, he know the audience.
I read it as lies from the start.
Foolishness is the feminine failing.
I like "Meet the Press" in quotes.
He's pragmatic in that he probably has to compromise more than he'd like in order to implement his ideals, which are redistributionist.
Dime con quien andas, y te digo quien eres.
Tell me with whom you walk, and I'll tell you who you are.
Second terms, in my lifetime, have usually not been happy for the incumbent.
Things start to come apart, the usual corruption starts to bubble to the surface, and people just plain get tired of looking at and seeing the same old faces.
I suspect the same will be true for the Obama admin.
The schoolmarm was smitten with the posing pragmatist before she was smitten with mittens! She now seems to think he is back to pragmatizing!

But Mr. Shouting Thomas, you are speaking of mere mortal second-termers!
More to the point, Obama has a lapdog press that has abandoned its traditional oppositional role.
That is a problem.
Yes, Mesquito,
He got himself elected and re-elected while clearly indicating he is going where 2/3 of the electorate do not want to go.
That puts in out of the "ordinary" all right.
After four+ years I'm still waiting for the press to toss Obama at least one semi-tough question.

He's still working the moderate, conciliatory, I'm a pragmatic kind of guy and thanks for the keys to the nation, you can count on me schtick. I"ll be your boyfriend, your "articulate" neighbor, the moderate voice.
Meanwhile, he goes on an unsustainable spending spree, vastly increases Welfare programs and actively seeks new recipients, picks the winners of GM and Solyndra and bails out the unions at taxpayer expense, puts in a racially charged DOJ with the old Civil Rights folks fighting their old battles, and promotes true activists and fellow travelers like Sandra Fluke...
He's such a moderate guy. What could go wrong?

It isn't "hypocrisy," shiloh.
It's disappointment. Many of the people here favored a different candidate and a different outcome. They will continue to oppose Obama because they don't agree with his politices. This seems a little difficult for you to understand. Seems pretty simple to me.
You might want to look up the meaning of "hypocrisy."
Shiloh, I'm pretty ok with Mitt's statement, because the problems Obama's trying to address with his activist model will make them even worse. Political power is too easily the reward and the currency.
Mitt was just the lesser of two evils.
Huge costs, arguable results, twisted incentives, unintended consequences, high taxes, politicans overseeing your money with an eye on reelection, and the same old problems at the bottom.
Under Obama part II, we're just deeper in the pit.
But you're a troll, so, keep trolling away.
A leader would set a course and push all parties to come to agreement and not wait until the last minute. He would set a tempo and get people people working to beat deadlines and exceed expectations.
This is either a lazy man or one who just doesn't care about anything except where he's going on vacation or who he's playing golf with on Sunday.

Indeed, as long as Althouse #1 doting, trained pet seal keeps harping deliriously er childishly spamming that Obama "stole" the 2012 presidency, the election will never be over for the pied piper and her devoted throng of whiners!
When you listen to Obama, he is hard to figure out. He has mastered the ability to say things that constitute nothing, but sound good and practical. So, I think you are left with looking at what he had done, with his life and when he actually has taken a position. I would say that is pretty revealing as a relatively far left ideologue, but one mostly concerned about his own personal success.

I'm officially Althouse['s] #1 doting, trained pet seal!
Meade says so.
And I haven't been harping about anything of the sort.
I'll believe him when he stands up to his own party to reign in entitlements on a one way trajectory to bankruptsy. Obama's a squish, a mediocrity. We will have to wait till no one shows up at the treasury's bond fire sale, before things will change. What a missed opportunity.

Romney was our last chance for fiscal sanity. Maybe he couldn't have gotten entitlement reform done because he lacks political skills but at least he wanted to do something.
Obama is all about winning and tactics. He just doesn't care what happens to the country after he leaves office. It's possible that he is as much in thrall to economic delusions as shiloh but that's just so hard to believe. Maybe he's just that ignorant. Even Clinton took advice.
Proving what Lem said ... as the election will never be over for disgruntled cons.
What is not over, shiloh, is political disagreement.
You're confusing the conservative reaction with the Democrat's refusal to accept Gov. Scott's election in Wisconsin.
Remember? That's what is called refusing to accept the results of an election.
Just watch what he does, and ignore what he says. That's good advice in trying to figure out where any politico is coming from.
As some comments point out, Obama also is greatly aided by a compliant press. He very seldom is asked a hard question, and also has mastered the long answer that makes him look reasonable and takes the effectiveness out of any interview.
But generally if you look at how I've tried to govern over the last four years and how I'll continue to try to govern, I'm not driven by some ideological agenda.
The thing about Socialists is that they are very good at convincing people that they are moderate when, in fact, the opposite is true.
Obama can say things like that and not have it challenged because the media is disinterested in any investigation of his assertion.
The Republicans will cave or get blamed for going over the cliff, Obama just has to make sure he isn't too obvious in what he is doing, which is sticking it to the Republicans. The Republicans are the stupid party for they want to get problems solved whereas for the Dems its all about getting elected. When it comes to politics the Dems are the pros and why shouldn't they be because for them it has always been their livelihood. The Dems grow up wanting to be in government but Republicans only come to government service after becoming successful in the private sector. The Dems are better at playing politics because they've had more practice, they've been doing it their whole lives.
they don't agree with his politices. This seems a little difficult for you to understand.
It would probably help if you stopped making up words.
"And I haven't been harping about anything of the sort."

He is campaigning. There's an election coming up you know..
A good example of why John Boehner gets that expression on his face when they ask him how "the negotiations" are going.
As pointed out on Powerline, it's Boehner's own fault for playing the "smoke-filled room" secret negotiations game in the first place. The Dems will always be cast as the "reasonable ones" when the story is told by the media, so the Republicans should propose their solution to the fiscal crisis in the form of legislation that's publicly debated in the House. Do everything on the record and let the chips fall where they may.
The press will not ask Obama anything about the last 4 years. What about all that failure? Solyndra? Abound Solar? The shovel ready jobs that Obama laughed at? The bad economy? Rising poverty? Food stamp usage at record highs? The total lack of transparency in government? The huge sums of money handed out to cronies and donors? You would think someone in the media would ask him a question about the last 4 years. Nothing.
Boop - never happened.
Now Obama needs to hike tax rates in order to pay for his mess and somehow balance that with the economic devastation it will cause. Bring on the blame game. Oh if only Obama could actually care about the economy. If only he understood it. He could be a great moderate.
Throw another moderate trillion dollar log on the fire, Michelle, the west wing's a tad chill.
Obama is a bullshitter extraordinaire, who gets by because OTHER people DO care, and DO want to do the right thing. Whether it is atone for slavery or avoid imposing the pain of higher taxes on hard-working people.
He postures, and while others do what's right he sneaks in his dirty little tricks and hidden agendas, and everyone stands by, aghast, but do nothing to stop him.
Maybe some consider that his genius - all the way to the end of a nation. It will soon be too late, and he'll keep mouthing those lovely platitudes that soothe the mass's concerns.

Left Bank of the Charles:
The gratuitous exploitation of a massacre to punish law-abiding citizens was invoked to manufacture leverage for other purposes. They do not care about gun control, because they wield superior force of arms and position. They only have a selective interest in human life from conception to grave. They do care about advancing their political, economic, and social standing through manipulation of perception and democratic leverage.
We know it's gratuitous because they do not protect the Constitutional rights (e.g. due process, right to life) of all citizens, from "creation" (per our national charter) to grave; they do not prevent the illegal entry of around one million aliens annually; they reject responsibility for illegally arming cartels and terrorists. They have no moral standing, but they do have a pliant and compliant press to manipulate perception, and trillions of dollars in debt to exploit needs and desires of opportunistic individuals.
It's a little puzzling why the lefties keep spiking the football long after the game is over. I wonder if they have a vague sense of dread that Obama seems to be getting everything he wants.
It's a bit like a kid who says, "I need discipline." The Democrats have been the teenagers since the older cool heads retired. What we have now are the people who invaded the Columbia U administration building and took it hostage for a week (Holder anyone ?). Nobody expects mature judgement from those people. Even the lefties may suspect that, left unchecked by adults, they will run us all over a cliff a lot higher than the one Jan 1.
This illustrates exactly why we have a second amendment

"tried to govern"
How weird. He is president. He has been governing. He doesn't need to focus on what he tried to do, but what he actually did.
The fact that he uses "tried" indicates he knows he did not do.

b) as always, read what Obama says. Don't listen to him.
His wording is masterful in it's straddling of the truth. He's never been held to account by his base, and he still won't be.
What he says is that "something" must be done and "there will be resistance". That could be nothing or a complete ban on all guns.
He sounds like he's going 100 miles an hour, but he' just sitting- biding his time while his proxies (Feinstein, Biden) beat the bushes to see what will emerge.

Obama hates America....moderately.
On "Meet the Press" today, Obama mostly came across as the moderate, pragmatic politician I like.
I know a lot of people, and when I've known someone for 4 years, I'm able to figure out people who come across as moderate and those who are just blowing smoke. You'd have to be a fool to believe anything Obama says. There is a four year record to look at.
...and again, not to put too fine a point on it - Obama is a "leverager" not a leader. He doesn't like to lead. He like to go shopping for other people's ideas and then use them to present and forward their ideas first. If they gain traction, he'll jump in and endorse them. If they fall flat, he'll step back, no mess on him.
He *doesn't lead*. He just leverages situations to his *personal advantage*. Its his history and his strength.
It's all about him you know.
Its interesting how Obama has perfected the art of sounding reasonable and moderate.
I don't think pragmatic means what you think it means Althouse.
Obama: "I am a non-ideological, pragmatic person .... now America - pull my finger."
This thread devolved like all political ones before it. Everyone is in their own camps, calling the other camp the devil and so on. Is it any wonder America is divided 50/50 and at each other's throats?
He has done nothing but govern from the left. This is Captain Bullshit in action.

I can hardly blame him.
The bad part is Obama actually believes his own lies. He has assimilated his own deceptions to the point where his reality is what he says.
America is just so screwed.
By the way. Facts are stubborn things.
Obama will be viewed as one of the absolute worst Presidents in American History. Any objective history of the economy or the foreign policy of this administration will rank it somewhere between Jimmy Carter and James Buchanan. The fluffing of the lapdog press will be as irrelevant as the posturing of Horace Greely or William Randolph Hearst.

Will you ever tire of embarrassing yourself?
Obama said he wanted to fundamentally transform our country and he has done just what he said he'd do. Government spending as a percentage of GDP has gone from about 20% to 25%. His administration runs commercials and offers rewards/prizes for public employees for getting more people on food stamps, he has brought us Obamacare and eventually a single payer health system. A weakened foreign policy which has long been a dream of the liberals. Obama only talks moderate and pragmatic when he thinks it is necessary for it is all about transforming our country which he has never liked much less loved.
Growing up in the fifties and watching all those shows about communists I never thought I would live to see one elected our president.
The "Magic Negro" speaks, liberals and libertarians swoon.
Not THIS libertarian.
As for Obama's comment 'I'll never campaign again' -- riiiight, he's gonna sit on the sidelines for the 2014 elections. Bullshit.

Well, we've got four years of history to look at right now, and Althouse hasn't got a clue. You know she teaches for a living, don't you?
I think you're being too tough on Althouse.
Yeah, she made a mistake when she voted for Obama in 2008, but I'm not sure it was all that stupid for a person with liberal inclinations to do so then. He did present himself as a moderate after all. And even though his history was less than clear and less than stellar, there was still the possibility that he would grow as president.
But I don't think she's falling for it again, although she's sorely tempted: Much as I would love [Obama's "assertions of pragmatism"] to be true, they make me nervous.
Just hope she's not going to prove me an idiot.
"I am just holding on, it's the cat that's pulling!" said the boy; he swung the cat by its tail.
The Democratic Party that has refused to pass a budget for four years - as a campaign ploy to avoid being on record as responsible for the immense amount of deficit spending they are doing - is putting country first?
Pretty brazen lie.
Lydia, I'm not talking about her thinking four years ago, I'm talking about now, right now, and when I see a statement like: "On "Meet the Press" today, Obama mostly came across as the moderate, pragmatic politician I like." I'm prone to think that she hasn't learned a damn thing, and this is after four years of history.
Her problem is that emotional Althouse thing. When that happens, her IQ drop down into the single digits.
My point was he was winning
You've changed your "point" numerous times. Here's the evolution of your "point:"
1. Mittens was up by five IN ALL THE POLLS a week before the election.
2. Mittens was UP BY FIVE in all the big polls a week before the election.
3. Mittens was ahead in all the polls a month before the election.
4. Mittens was winning the month before the election.
And not surprisingly, you're still wrong. It's trivially easy to check the national polling data for the month before the election, and the numbers prove you wrong.
Give it up, edumbshit. Stop making a fool of yourself.
Allen, I agree that Althouse's opening statement on this post is worrisome. But then she goes on to say she's skeptical.
Of course, she should be way more than skeptical at this point, so...
Skeptical should be in the opening statement.
Isn't the President from the camp which asserts that there is no truth (call it "absolute truth," if you prefer), and instead holds that political positions are ideological.
From that perspective, the only distinction is how firmly people adhere to their beliefs--if they regard them as principles and refuse to compromise when Obama wants them to, they are ideologues. If they compromise when Obama wants them to, they are practical. But, by definition, they are being practical in the service of the President's ideological goals--for from his perspective (if I understand his philosohy correctly), all our beliefs are ideological.
The idea of ideology, after all, was invented in France in the 1790s. It was what replaced the classic idea of nature, and, hence, it rejected the classic distinctions between nature and convention, and between truth and opinion
...and...Fantasyland keeps chugging along...
Let me take that back. Bullshit should be in the opening statement.
When Bush beat Kerry, by quite nearly that level, Garage and shiloh said, he's right we have to go along,
I'm sure,
He's not practical. He's a guy with no ideas whose only talent is leaving the ideas and subsequent details to his most hyper-partisan underlings.
"Country first. Where'd he come up with that slogan?"
Any examples of when the democrats or obama put the country first? How about 10 examples of that? Should be easy with 4 years of Presidency and 6+ years of Congressional control.
Now he's got most of what he wanted,
he knew he couldn't get single payer through, he admitted that in 2007, He didn't get 'Card check' through,
but the NLRB will work around it, 'electricity prices will necessarily
skyrocket,' with the EPA regulations which will be phased in, am I forgetting anything, oh the sequestration goes along ways to fulfilling his Iowa peace pledge,

I NEVER said all the polls had him up because that would be overlooking Q-Pac, Koskidz, and Pew so you're blustering again. I don't blame you.
Sucks to be so silly.
Obama is a lying sack of shit. Has been one since the day he was born. Nothing new there, right?
And this stupid country voted for him TWICE. We are getting what we deserve.
Hope you have a paycheck after deductions.
It was said Clinton is "a very good liar", but Obama has perfected the art. He gets away with it because the press is so left-wing they think his lies are the truth.

That doesn't make him a good liar, just one that's never challenged.
Govern? I thought presidents were supposed to PRESIDE.
Keep in mind, Zero thinks he's supposed to rule.
Now, I'm not a sucker for mere posing ...
Ah, may I take that under advisement, Professor?
... what you have is a situation here where the Democratic party, warts and all, and certainly me, warts and all, have consistently done our best to try to put country first.
If true, then they have an interesting view of what "the country" is. It appears to exclude small farmers, ranchers, small businessmen (Democrats hate small businesses with a passion I have yet to understand, except in magnitude), and people who just plain work hard to try to get ahead.
I think Obama and the people who voted for him need a hard lesson in economics -- and I'm including those who deluded themselves into voting for him in 2008. The sooner we go over the cliff, the sooner a few people wake up from their dream world.
Howard: "It's not spiking the football. It's kicking the stupid kids in the face while they are having a grand mal temper tantrum."
You must not have any kids or know anything about psychology. Because if you did you would know that kicking a kid in the face is not the right way to handle a temper tantrum on his part.
The right way is to ignore the temper tantrum and let passions cool down by themselves.
AllenS:
Another piece of evidence toward that conclusion is all the diaries and posts on left-wing blogs like Daily KOS, where they all agreed that Obama had to *act* moderate in order to win the votes of Middle America. The real Obama--a doctrinaire left-wing black man--could never get elected President, they reasoned.
Ah, the "practical man". Even if these comments are true, the "practical man" never questions the underlying philosophies he encounters. He just goes along with the flow. He's "getting stuff done."
It's its own philosophy. Quintessentially American.
I mean if you look at the facts, what you have is a situation here where the Democratic party, warts and all, and certainly me, warts and all, have consistently done our best to try to put country first.
And yet the Cornball Brother President can't seem to provide a singular example of this.
Shocking. I know.
Obama needs a leitmotif.
This is sufficiently glorious.
Hail to the Chief is so nothing.
Another piece of evidence toward that conclusion is all the diaries and posts on left-wing blogs like Daily KOS, where they all agreed that Obama had to *act* moderate in order to win the votes of Middle America.
I bet you couldn't cite one diary, let alone "all the diaries".
I NEVER said all the polls had him up
Really?
Let me quote you then:
edumbshit: "Not just Ras, they all had the Romster 5 points ahead a week out."
In fact, as I've proved to you several times now, NONE of the 25+ national polls had Mittens ahead by 5 points a week before the election.
So that makes your original claim wrong, te first modification to your claim wrong, the second modification to your claim wrong, and the third modification to your claim wrong. At least you're consistent!
I know you live on denial, edumbshit, but when you spout your loony theories at Althouse, you leave a record of your dumbfuckery. So once again you've been caught lying.
Sucks to be so silly.
I'll take your word for it.
"I'm not a sucker for mere posing"
Don't be so modest. You're an excellent sucker.
Try again, moron. If you're going to quote, get it all.
But edumbshit's reality denial goes a step further. He insists that almost all the polls were wrong, except for the polls that showed Romney winning (Rasmussen!), and that in fact, Romney won in a landslide but the election was stolen as a result of massive, widespread voter fraud.
Not just Ras, they all had the Romster 5 points ahead a week out.
Emphasis mine, quote yours. All, meaning those that were honest. Context is a bitch, isn't it?
BTW, never said the Romster won in a landslide. More of your mouthing off.
"I'm not really a practical President, but I play one on TV!"
Why are you even talking to stinking smelly assholes? Why?
They're so thick it hasn't sunk in that one trillion dollars is the same thing as nine-hundred ninety-nine billion dollars. So they speak on smaller things.
And one billion dollars is the same thing as nine-hundred ninety-nine million dollars.
They cannot talk about this president aiming to do that four more times on top of the eight times he's already responsible for. He was hired to reverse it, apparently, debt was soooo important before he was elected, and instead he doubled it. They cannot talk about that so they must talk about something else, they must speak a different language entirely, a language of their own world, their own making. They cannot be engaged seriously, they are not serious people. Their world does not compute.
They voted for and are defending nine-hundred ninety-nine million dollars nine-hundred and nine-nine times, four more times over by the time it's all over. And that's only the debt this unspeakably unreliable government is reporting, the truth of unbacked promises goes much deeper than even that. And they voted formore of that, there is absolutely nothing pragmatic about that on a structured logical world, and that's why they simply cannot be engages seriously.
My attitude is have them go live in their own psychic world, mine will hardly intersect. Wherever it does, day to day, it is as aliens passing a few moments in a Star Wars bar scene. They won a very important ball game,\ in their world that's all that was, never outside their puny partisan space, they speak as such, I lost my whole country to mean-spirited strangers, and my country was my whole world. Now it gone forever.
They laugh and taunt that.
The country still will be here, yes, I hear them snort. But it will will never be the same country. And as far as being stronger, nothing is stronger up to its ears in debt. Debt limits options, an that's what was pragmatically wanted, aimed for and attained, for now and their children, and grandchildren, they made quite sure of that. Oh yes, that's pragmatic on that world. But it was good to hear him planning his departure. It is all about Himself, you know.

Obama also told Dick this A.M., "I never compare myself to Lincoln."
"Now, I'm not a sucker for mere posing"
ROFLMAO!!! Anybody who would consider for a second that obama means a single word he says is a fool of the first order. You MUST totally ignore his behavior the last four years, live in a government, liberal bubble and enjoy being LIED to...repeatedly.
Obama says many things. Then he goes and does whatever he wants to do. What he wants to do, from the evidence we have in front of us, is ruin our economy, trample our constitution and gut our national interests.
I'm just sick of the bullshit back and forth in almost every thread between edutcher and whomever. I was under the mistaken impression that adults posted here but its obviously not the case.
What gave you the impression that adults posted here?
You must be drunk dude.
I mean just because Garage Mahal doesn't wear any pants while he posts does not make it "adults only."

Mahal is dead...
By Dave Umhoefer of the Journal Sentinel
Dec. 29, 2012
"Mahal, the young orangutan who became one of the Milwaukee County Zoo's most popular attractions, died unexpectedly Saturday morning in his indoor exhibit, the zoo announced.
The zoo's veterinary personnel suspect the cause of death was pneumonia. Mahal was just 5 years old.
Mahal, who came to Milwaukee in 2008, was showing signs of slight illness Thursday, zoo officials said, and veterinarians and keepers attempted to administer medication and food. A necropsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death."
OH MY GOD!!!!
It can't be.
First Oscar Madison and now Garage Mahal.
Say it isn't so!
Say it ain't so!
Garage Mahal will live forever.
He is the Abe Vigoda of this blog.
And not just in looks alone!

Let's review what edumbshit said. In response to this comment
"And, Morris is just about always wrong, too! He predicted a Romney landslide."
edumbshit wrote this:
"No, he was right. The Demos stole it, is all."
So yeah, edumbshit believes Romney won in a landslide. Welcome to edumbshit's reality denial bubble.
"Your weakness and lack of self-criticism is opening the door to a Barbara Boxer wet-dream and it's all your fault! "
It's our fault that the techno-weenies and the corrupt Chicago pols elected the worst prepared president in US history? Andrew Johnson had at least been a governor of a border state.
Republicans have had a weakness for decades, at least since 1945, that we are serious and worry about the country. The Democrats, like "Otter" in "Animal House" say, "You fucked up. You trusted us !" Nobody doubts they (you) are better at winning elections. There was a time when people like Harry Truman were Democrats and were among the best educated and prepared for the presidency in the country.
Wendell Willkie was well prepared in 1940 but he had been a Democrat. There are stories that Roosevelt considered naming Willkie his VP in 1944 but Willkie died that year.
Does anyone think that Harry Truman or Roosevelt would have named Obama as VP ?

I already rebutted that, but the man made of dumbshit ignores anythng that doesn't fit the narrative and raves on.
Besides, you're giving James the heebie-jeebies.
"And does the Democratic party still have some knee jerk ideological positions and are there some folks in the Democratic party who sometimes aren't reasonable? Of course. That's true of every political party."
So are the Democrats better or not? He's melted into squishy blandness.
Wow. That's a pretty bizarre way to interpret his comment. You really are a sucker for drama queens. the introductory proclamation of admiration for moderate pragmatists notwithstanding.
What he wants to do, from the evidence we have in front of us, is ruin our economy, trample our constitution and gut our national interests.
What a bubble. I suppose he ruined the incredibly sound economy of late 2008 by doubling the Dow and decreasing unemployment by two percentage points. Yep, what an incompetent jerk, that Obama. He should have instead crashed the Dow by 50% like our decisive Leader, W., did. What courage and acumen that took.
James has the heebie-jeebies.
I thought that only Cedarford got that?
Or does he only get the Progressive-heebie-jeebies.
Sorry, not buying it. It doesn't matter what Obama says. What matters is what he does. And what he's doing is insisting on raising marginal taxes for the affluent, without regard for the marginal economic effects, solely for the ideological reason that such tax increase reduces inequality by redistributing income. He's an ideologue, first, last, and foremost and only the suckers are deluded by his claims to the contrary.

Wait a minute.....Garage must have just offed himself....another loss for the Packers....too baaaaadddd!!!
I already rebutted that
Sorry, no. Denial is not rebuttal.
edumbshit.
Only in Diamond land.
And Morris did predict a Romney landslide.
And the Demos stole it.
Considering how right the man made of dumbshit says he is, you'd think he could make his case without making an ass of himself.
wyo sis:
He either represents an American interest, which is competing with another American interest, or a foreign interest conspiring with a third-party American interest to ruin both American majority interests.
Either way, he is lying about his true motives, in America, and around the world. The so-called "Arab Spring" (i.e. Islamic imperial or left-wing interest) in Egypt was not simple happenstance. It was caused and supported by his policies. The same in Libya, Syria, etc. However, in America, he has a bigger nut to crack. America is not Egypt or Libya or Syria.
BTW, never said the Romster won in a landslide.
Here's another example of edumbshit's insanity. In response to this comment
"Now, why don't you try posting something sensible, like your theory that Romney won the election in a landslide but the Democrats stole it. That should prove you're not a lunatic!"
edumbshit wrote this:
"No theory, fact."
More evidence that edumbshit believes Romney won in a landslide.
Stupidity. Lunacy. edumbshit.
On "Meet the Press" today, Obama mostly came across as the moderate, pragmatic politician I like.
In other words, he didn't say anything.
What no one seems willing to acknowledge is that Obama does not know how to negotiate and compromise. He is used to laying out a position including everything he wants, plus 3 or 4 items he knows he will never get. He then trys to convince everyone that he has made a huge concession in giving up those 3 or 4 items, and then talk until you see things his way, giving him all the items he actually wanted to start with. My children tried this with Christmas lists when they were 12. Which says something about Obamas' arrested development.
decreasing unemployment by two percentage points
Please explain the drop in the labor participation rate.
OK, time to shut this down. I'm not even going to explain to the man made of dumbshit that I was referring to the fact I say he won, let's just look at the fact that he's quoting a semi-humorous aside in a comment having to do with something Shouting Thomas said.
Are you seriously going through every comment I made in the last year?
Or, as in shilol mode, have you copied down every quote anybody made about the election?
In either - or both cases, you are a sick puppy.
Get help.
Now.
Pragmatic. Now we all know that's a LIE. A big FAT lie. Morbidly obese, even. Needs a baryatric bed to lie in.
What a load of horsesh*t.
Does he think none of us have seen how he and the Democratic party--warts and all--have governed?
Spare me.
I was referring to the fact I say he won
Here we go again. Another case of edumbshit's "evolving" claims. First he claimed that Romney won in a landslide. Now he's reduced Romney's landslide to just a victory. Denial denial denial.
Seriously, edumbshit, you should just stick to the landslide version of your loony theory. After all, this is pure fantasy on your part, so why not insist that Romney won 90% of the vote? Why not pretend that Mittens pitched an electoral college shutout? If you're going to fantasize, why not go big?
edumbshit - Please note that none of the other Althouse lemmings are rushing to your aid. I wonder why that is.
Insanity. Stupidity. edumbshit.
