I'm one of those traditionalists.

Merry Christmas to all in Meadehouse

I'll guess you are sitting on Santa's lap.

Merry Christmas, Althouse, Althouse, and Associates.

I'm a New Traditionalist. Next year I'll just be a dumpy ol' regular one.

I love the one where Palladian colorized a carrot top and hid a squirrel.

Good times.

Even at three, forming an hypothetical.

Love the picture, although the one with the Father asleep with his ashtray and beer glass brings back memories.

That's one real-looking Santa. Even in B/W, right down to the red nose.

We missed a tradition this year. My dad has this goofy stuffed reindeer toy where if you press on it, it sings "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer." However, since he moved a few months ago, the reindeer apparently got boxed up, and Dad didn't think about it until I mentioned it over Christmas lunch. I told him it's his job to find it for Christmas 2013.

If the WSJ can repeat the same editorials every year just before Thanksgiving and Christmas since. like, 1960, why shouldn't you share that photo?

It was all so simple back then.

Actually, the secret is that things still are that simple.

A girl with her sister.

One of the most wonderful and powerful things in life.

Cute classic. I am sure your parents were proud of that pic.

I admit that I was expecting and waiting for this.

Merry Christmas all. I have enjoyed your company over the last year.

Clicking this post to the top of the page, it's interesting to compare the two profile shots of Althouse some 59 years apart.

Was it the model for the Althouse blog portrait? The expressions seem very similar: cruel neutrality.
