Who really cares? The pederast -enabling piece of shit is dead, and the devil has demons raping his ass right now.
The worst thing that the entire football culture did was nothing! They did nothing...the assistant coach who caught Sandusky raping a child in the shower, he didn't even stop THAT! He just told the head devil himself, Paterno.
They should have blown up that stadium and banned Penn State from ever playing ANYTHING!
And if Crack calls me a lunatic for believing that, then I'm glad I am, for if I didn't believe it, I'd be tempted to do just as I suggested.
I have a question...when are Sandusky's enablers going to jail, and for how long? You know, the college president, the AD, the assistant coach who just walked away.
Ps,
There is an investigation on going that Sandusky was running a ring of pedophiles. Who wants to bet nothing comes of that either?
Lem, good picks. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, yes. In his more dominant/ cocky as opposed to shlubby mode (yet he can also play pathetic-- meaning in part "contemptible"-- better than almost anyone).
He was in Doubt (related topic), which I haven't seen.
Too big a presence, like Pacino or Dustin Hoffman is distracting, especially if they look like the person. I spent all of Walk The Line noticing Joaquim Phoenix playing Johnny Cash. I think one of those actors who disappear into their roles, like Kevin Spacey or John Cusack would be better.
William Hurt or...name escapes me...Jeff somebody who was in Dumb and Dumber...not Jim Carrey but the other one, the blind one. Or Liam Neeson. Or there's another actor I can picture who looks a lot like Sandusky...but I can't think of his name either. Ah, the middle aged brain.

Why the hell would anyone make such a movie?
May I repeat all y'all...WHY?
Anyone who has had a smidgen of experience with the athletic programs in Div 1A knows ole Joe not only knew and did nothing, but likely was involved personally. There are no things such as this kind of locker-room secret in Div 1A or the Big Ten program. Other teams also had to know as well. There is NO way everyone kept quiet for so long otherwise. Period.
There should be no Joe Paterno movie unless it is centered on highly placed people protecting something that is unimportant by sacrificing the lives of little children.

@ Lance: You're right that Pacino overacted in Any Given Sunday. And yet: His performance was far from being the most incredible and unbelievable one in that particular movie, which featured Cameron Diaz as the pro football team's owner.

I'd say that sounds about right.
And who will play Sandusky?
Frank Costanza?
Joe Pesci.
Depends: if it's going to show him as a human being with both flaws and goodness in him, Pacino would be good.
I anticipate more of a character assassination type movie, and Joe Pesci might make a better one-dimensional monster.
Maguro, you son of a bitch, you beat me to it.
How about Sandusky? That's more difficult.
Nick Nolte? William Hurt? John Travolta?
Steven Root?
Jeffrey Jones?
Too late, but Jim Backus in the voice of Mr. Magoo.
Jeffrey Jones?
Good one.
If he had a different (more imposing) physique, Fargo's William Macey (for the innocent-looking all-American weaselliness).
Tim Robbins?
Dustin Hoffman

Pacino has already played a football coach. His overacting mangled it, imo.
Paterno needs a humbler approach. I'm thinking someone like Paul Giamatti.
The question was what famous move.. actor.
So, I answered accordingly.

And who will play Sandusky?
Tom Hanks?
or Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Hoffman is a better actor than Tom Hanks.
Why the hell would anyone make such a movie? And who would want to play the part?
"Hoffman is a better actor than Tom Hanks."
Does that make Hoffman a member of a short list?

Robert DiNero or Steve Buscemi
Jeff Goldblum. It will be the start of a major comeback, like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction.
Jason Biggs
He has the slimy part down perfectly
For Sandusky, you need someone a bit more husky, hulking - and avuncular.
But, frankly, they ought to let the world spin a couple of times before exploiting this one.
They can call it Brokeback Mountebank.
Meryl Streep. She's played everyone else.

Frank Langella is Jerry Sandusky!

Jeffrey Jones as Sandusky is genius, Palladian.
Perhaps Roman Polanski will direct.

Pacino has already done the part.
Dick Rambone
Joe Pesci. They already look alike.
Joe Pesci. That's a no-brainer.
Michael Douglass. I'm thinking of how he looked when he filmed Falling Down, with the buzzed hair cut and the glasses.
