"... it wasn't long after that honey began to slowly drip from newly emerged cracks in the living room and kitchen ceilings, while a cascade of the sweet liquid even blew a lightbulb after filling it half-full of honey."
And for comic relief after that (as suggested by a commenter there), try "Covered In Bees":

Kind of reminds of of the novel, The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd.
Why no Eddie Izzard during the Olympics?
The man is a treasure of the Crown.
80,000 isn't that big of a hive really. My Mom just got into beekeeping and 80,000 was what you buy to start the hive before the Queen gets her space upgraded and starts bringing it up to it's normal size. 80k bees could fit inside a wall no problem.
80k bees is a secondary swarm. now a 250k to 500k amount of bees is a primary swarm. When you see a few of those swarming around the queens pheromones as she finds a place to land and have her begin her hive, then that's something.
Actually, I think 65,000 is what usually comes in a new package of bees around here. 80,000 is a more mature hive.
Hear, hear to EMD's comment. If it weren't for the profanity, he'd be our families fav. comic. "Tea, Cake, or Death" has become a fam. inside joke since he was discovered by the kids (now 16 and 17)
