अनामित म्हणाले...: I didn't vote for Bush in 2000 and I figured that he was way out of his depth as POTUS. His speech mannerisms drove me crazy. I could barely hear him speak. Everything about him seemed second-rate -- just a frat boy riding into power on his father's cred.

He sure surprised me.

Leaving politics aside, I was impressed by his leadership after 9-11 and how he bore up to some of the most astonishing vilification of an American president in my lifetime without ever losing his graciousness. Bush wasn't perfect but he was a class act in his way.

These lyrics from "Pippin" are in the vicinity of my feelings for Bush.

Some men are heroes
Some men outshine the sun
Some men are simple, good men

This man wasn't one

And I won't miss his moods
His gloomy solitudes
His blunt abrasive style
