John Edwards wanted Obama to nominate him to the Supreme Court.

Said Leo Hindrey, Edwards’ economic policy adviser, testifying that after Obama won the Iowa caucuses, Edwards ready to give up, wanted Hindery to "to reach out to the Obama campaign and make clear his availability on the ticket" and "We talked about a more elaborate goal of Mr. Edwards, which was to be a Supreme Court justice."

Thank you, National Enquirer.

Vetting!

Aren't you glad the Newspaper of Record warned you about him?

pm317 म्हणाले...

Yeah, Obama's people told him -- 'we know all about your affair. Just shut up and linger in the race' so the anti-Obama vote was split between Hillary and him. He was blackmailed to play the spoiler. Why do you think nobody reported on his affair and even the National Enquirer did it when it was safe and advantageous for Obama?

But, remember, the press ISN'T in bed with Democrats.

No sir. Not. at. all.

I am having a hard time thinking of a more loathesome living American politician. Kennedy's passing sure left Edwards pretty high on the "sheer sleaze" scale.

Romney closed an investment bank to find a missing girl. Edwards refused to take cases of kids with MS who died because he couldn't parade a crippled child in front of jurors to have them ignore junk science.

Because Edwards cares about "The little guy" and Romney doesn't.

In all seriousness, John Edwards' shame aside, the current Justices really ought to do something more with their hair.

Pragmatist म्हणाले...

Amazing what a good haircut will do for you. Chicks, jobs and lots of publicity.

I say shave it all off and tattoo letters spelling out "SCOTUSA" on the top of them.

Oh, for the press whiners. Their is a whole network that is explicitly dedicated to Republican Propaganda, oops, I mean news. And an almost astronomical number of radio stations that spew Right Wing propaganda. and of course publishing houses, media empires and newspapers whose only goal is agit-prop for the Right. So enough with the lie of the Liberal Media. It really is insulting to FOX.

Does this make Reille Hunter a national heroine? If it weren't for her, he might have gotten it.

Wow--just wow--can you imagine the silky pony putting the make on the current distaff associate justices--Justice Ginsburg would be quite the catch.

As noted by others, fortunately the MSM was on this case--the same MSM that exposed Mr Romney for a misdeed 50 fucking years ago.

Thank good for our diligent 4th estate.

FNC is markedly more negative towards conservatives than MSNBC is towards Democrats. Let's try and stay real.

And you still have NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, CNN, etc.

Plus Hollywood.

Plus academia.

and of course publishing houses, media empires and newspapers whose only goal is agit-prop for the Right.

Plus most major newspapers.

I love this whole "If you aren't on board with everything Obama does, you're 'agit prop' for the Right" nonsense.

Makes it easy to point out who one can safely ignore as having nothing worth reading.

What would Edwards's My-Little-Pony name be? (Because someone mentioned his Silky Pony nickname.)

Attention delusional nonpragmatist at 2:23

Here's what's insulting: this is your response to a post about the disaster that might well have occurred because the LIBERAL MEDIA refused (not "failed," refused) to vet a Democrat[ic] presidential candidate.

"So enough with the lie of the Liberal Media. It really is insulting to FOX."

What lie? Something over 90% of journalists acknowledge that they voted for Obama. There is one major (cable) network (Fox News) with a supposedly conservative bias, and there are many (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, etc) with a liberal bias. And that's just the "news" outlets.

[Shut up, dastardly Rethuglicurs, you've got your one (cable) network and the Rush show and some books so shut up. Fairness 'n' stuff. Shut up. Racist.]

And while Fox leans right it doesn't pretend that other points of view do not exist like the liberal networks do. It has liberals and conservatives on its panels and it has both liberal and conservative hosts. One of the hosts piped up yesterday (hereinafter Evolution Day) warning that that the Republicans were on the "wrong side of history." Yeah, we're all lovin' that good ol' fashioned Republican propaganda.

A wise red neck from the cotton mill towns of the North Carolina piedmont could have served in place of Sonia Sotomayor. He could have channeled the spirit of Roger Taney and written a great opinion that Bloggers are not citizens of the United States.

What would Edwards's My-Little-Pony name be?

Um, I think the other ponies would call him "Silky,"

Pastafarian म्हणाले...

Pragmatist, you might want to tune into Faux news sometime. They have Juan Williams, Shepard Smith, Geraldo Rivera, and Alan Colmes.

These are not conservatives, Pragmatist.

Go ahead and list all the non-liberals that NBC regularly puts on the air, and gives their own shows. I'll wait.

And there would be more liberal radio shows; if anyone listened to them. I've tried to listen to some of them on XM -- The Stephanie Miller show, Ed Schultz. They're just horrible radio, they're incompetent.

That's one thing you have to admit about Rush Limbaugh: He's very good at radio.

Then again, I'm not sure why I'm bothering. Anyone who would make the argument that there is no liberal media bias isn't going to make a coherent argument.

They would need to make sure the Court was sound proof. Otherwise, everytime an ambulance would pass by Edwards would by reflex run after it w/ his business card in hand.

Eric म्हणाले...

Hahahaha. One thing you have to say about John Edwards - he really does have a high opinion of himself and his capabilities.

Instead of just having to leave North Carolina to find an obstetrician, women would have ended up going to Canada or Mexico.

He used Sean Penn as an advisor.

And a very large number of Democrats had Edwards bumper stickers on their cars for 4 years.

...and, last I checked, most FNC employees are Democrats.
