[S]ince being named national party chairwoman last spring, Ms. Wasserman Schultz has struggled to meet the demands from the party, from her husband and their three young children and from her South Florida congressional district filled with senior citizens. "I have three full-time jobs," she says. "There's a lot of tension."
At 6 a.m. in her Weston, Florida, home one recent day, Ms. Wasserman Schultz, wearing wet hair, no makeup and a coral-colored suit, talked to two staff members assembled in her kitchen about possible topics for her appearance within the hour on MSNBC. While she packed her bag of diet food to combat the few pounds she gained after breast-cancer treatment, her husband Steve Schultz fed their youngest child and four barking dogs....
She didn't tell her House colleagues, constituents or even her children about her breast-cancer diagnosis and treatment until after it was finished. Ms. Wasserman Schultz wanted to protect her then 8-year-old twins and 4-year-old, but says she also didn't want others stopping her from fulfilling her congressional and political roles.
When some colleagues saw her on the shortlist to be party chair, they held an "intervention" of sorts. "We wanted her to reassure us that the extra work wouldn't be a threat to her personal well-being," says Rep. Bruce Braley, a close friend.

Ditzy Debbie, as she's known to her many fans, is the greatest source of comic relief this side of Halo Joe.
What you've quoted indicates the spirit of a warrior. I respect that.
While I regret what Mrs. Schultz has been through medically (my dad is currently battling lung cancer), it will be a good day for the country when she gets sent home in retirement, along with the rest of the dingbat spenders in D.C. And I include almost all the republicans.
PS.(ot) make sure your firewalls are updated. I just had a wicked virus that wiped every file I had saved. It even corrupted some OS files, and I had to reboot and relopad everything. My Nortons didn't even slow it down. Screen went black and everything was gone.
This is, I believe, what is meant by "having it all." A feminist ideal, and amazingly achieved by many women, even when it looks impossible. Note that someone is picking up the slack at home. Feminists should factor that into the equation as well. A wife is a wonderful thing no matter who plays the role.
Debbie gets all her opinions and takes all her positions from the Homosexual Comintern, otherwise known as the NY Times, which she never disrespects.
A wife is a wonderful thing no matter who plays the role.
Associate the feeding of dogs and children to the word "wife," and you'll be doing a lot more of it yourself, sis.
Shark mouth. Evil woman.
Four dogs? Eesh.
Who is dumber?
Schultz
or
Boxer.
Tough one.
She sounds like a mensch. Too bad about her politics.
She stood by and watched people on her side attack Sarah Palin for daring to run for VP when her special needs child needed her at home.
I suspect DWS didn't tell anyone about her cancer because she knows she's the kind of person who would use it against her political opponent.
+1 to phx.
Hate her politics, but my respect for her as a person just went up a few notches.
BTW, the word verification gets suckier and suckier. Half the time, it boots me whether I enter the letters correctly or not. The one right now is completely unreadable. I may stop commenting--too much of a pain in the ass. And if I stop commenting out of frustration, it's only a matter of time before I stop reading.

If you want women to be "equals" in the workplace, stop acting like they and they alone also carry the responsibilities of childcare and family!!!
(yes, this is my pet issue.)
She's so perfect: she only gained weight because of cancer treatments.
The four dogs, I understand.
Sorun
I've done more than my share of feeding of dogs and children and the thousands of other things a "wife" does. My husband does it now. It's a wonderful thing.
Ha, Lyssa!
You have me imagining a man trying to get away with the "three full time jobs" line.
I worry about the well-being of all who are within hearing range of her whiny nasally [New Yawk transplant?]voice.
Don't like the woman. Never will. Too bad about the cancer. No one should go through that. Still don't like, nor do I respect her. About all I can say in her favor is that Chuck Schumer would be worse. Talk about slick and slimy.
I do find it interesting that they can be trying to portray her as an independent thinker, when she invariably tracks the latest Dem talking points almost to a word.
"... I have three full-time jobs," she says..."
This is where I stopped reading and pulled out my violin.
Who wrote that fluff piece?
MSNBC hacks probably.
As others have said, sorry about the cancer. She's still a party hack.

Are you sure it was a virus that did the damage, Carnifex? Purely malicious malware is pretty rare these days, i.e. code which merely destroys or alters data, since there's no profit in it (Stuxnet could be an exception, though, that gem destroys uranium enrichment centrifuges by forcing them to spin out of control) Today's malware is overwhelmingly aimed at theft of data (e.g. user names, passwords, credit card info) or remote control of infected systems (zombifcation).
Firewalls are not particularly effective in stopping malware since most infections come through Port 80 either as attachments or as trojan installs.
I advise dumping Norton and using Avast! instead. Some of my clients have had their networks penetrated even though they had a Symantec security suite in place. None of them using Avast! have ever suffered a malware event.

I've always suspected Obama's vaunted intelligence. His reliance on Dizzy Debbie only solidifies my skepticism. She's an idiot. She merely parrots the most outrageous talking points and specious claims advanced by Obama's crew of junior PR staffers, claims and talking points that are easily shot down by anyone with a basic command of the facts.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz -- jeez, women who use hyphenated names are typically stupid -- this chick is a Sopwith Camel in a sky full of Mustangs and FW-190s.
ps.
I really hate the new anti-bot measures. They're hard to read and totally humorless. Who do I complain to?
She is a despicable human being. Truly one of the worst in Congress--I think of her and Maxine Waters as being similar.
We had some personal dealings with her. I know what I'm talking about.
And "having it all?" Please. It is a lie. Unless by "having it all" you mean "having one great thing, really well, at a time, and then being lucky enough to live a long life and have several great things, one after the other."
If I were in her position, I wouldn't have told people outside my most inner circle either.
And 8 year olds and 4 year olds don't need to know that at that level of illness either.
Hats off.
On the other hand, my sense of DWS is that she can be a nasty piece of work.
So like a lot of us she is a mix of admirable and the opposite. Though in her case her public personna and work does a huge disservice to her humane side.
a huge disservice to her humane side.
If she really has one.
Four dogs ... may be.
Wasserman-Schulz is "combative" the same way that shiloh is "combative". It's just shorthand for "asshole".

I have McAfee installed as my day to day tool, but use Malwarebytes (free in the basic version)
whenever I catch something. It seems to find things McAfee misses including adware and other annoyances
Is this Debbie Wasserman Schultz being humanized? Good luck with that.
She has always intrigued me. In the same way that observing a horrible scene unfold is intriguing. But I've only ever heard her recycle MMFA type attack points. That's all. She has never failed to project the worst that she (her staff) could imagine onto her opponents then attack that.
Fascinatingly though the truth does occasionally slip through. In those instances her face distorts and tightens. Otherwise she presents a purposefully blank and innocent visage while bouncing point to point to point presenting fiction as fact.
I've studied her intently, but to be honest I've never managed more than ten seconds.
It's actually more like 5 full-time jobs. You have to count the full time job of managing her husband managing her children and you have to count the full time job of managing the neighbors complaining about the dogs.
Interesting ...
Democrats are "combative"
Republicans are usually "controversial" or "extreme"
Now, I have enough disdain for both, but I wish the press would spread the language around.
I wonder if her cancer was caused by fertility hormones, like E Edward's.
Cankle-Schultz is a public servant. Her hiding her disease and treatment from her family is her business, hiding it from her constituents is another matter altogether and goes directly to the heart of her judgment as a politician. If she will had that from the ones she represents, what else is she hiding. Nancy Pelosi was willing to drain the swamp. How would that work out in Debbie Cankles favor after this revelation I wonder.
Why should I think, much less feel for this woman who represents an ideology of lies as being a consistent banner carrier for those lies. All of the other intrusions on her life are her own making. Complaining about the 'tension' that it creates for her is piffle. I'm glad she has dealt with her breast cancer and may the good lord see to it that it is gone for good.

Asshole isn't the right word. Uneducated, willfully ignorant, cognitively dissonant, oh and inherently stupid would be better descriptors of people like cankles and shiloh.
@Quaestor
Thanks, I'll look in Avast! I got Nortons because the wife gets it for free. Only reason. :-)
As far as the crash, I can't swear in a court of law it was a virus but I've had a pc since the Timex Sinclair was out(1976?) so while I ain't a musician, I can hum the tune.
Maybe I did screw something up, but I don't think so.

Probably not. What you described doesn't sound like the consequences of a virus. It sounds like a catastrophic hardware failure, probably the motherboard. Remove your HDD and install it as a secondary drive or slave in another machine, preferably a machine running Linux or BSD. I believe you'll find your files are intact.

Try microsoft security essentials or MSE. It's free, has a fairly small footprint and it's updated daily. very good for a free app.
The scariest part of the story is the mental image of "Ms." Wasserman-Schultz "wearing wet hair, no makeup and a coral-colored suit" at 6:00 a.m.
~Shudder~
I have a question -- do they do such profiles on Republicans? They too juggle with families, bad times and doing their job as well
I'm so grateful she's there and hope she keeps that position for ever:DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz: Religious Groups “Shouldn’t Be Imposing Their Values on Employees”… That’s the Governement’s Job
Gateway Pundit has the video.

Wasserman's quote was "Religious institutions shouldn't be imposing their values necessarily on their employees who don't necessarily subscribe to their values. So there needs to be a balance."
Wasserman of course didn't say "That's the government's job" - cf is just copying and pasting from a really rigidly ideological web site.
Wasserman's quote in itself seems pretty reasonable to me.
I remember seeing Debbie interviewed on the day that Gabby Giffords returned to Congress, and I was struck that she was rather choked up describing Gabby's recovery. The news of her own health battle puts Debbie's emotional reaction in perspective.
On the other hand, she was a co-sponsor of SOPA, and we all know how bad that was -- not married-in-Las-Vegas bad but, you know, pretty bad.
I'm sorry she's struggled with her health. But I must say I dislike this woman intensely. I think she's a liar, and I think her approach is so combative as to be a detriment to the country.
I wonder what you would have to say on MSNBC for them to challenge her.
My sister did a similar thing with her breast cancer. Didn't tell our parents or her siblings until she was clear. I thought that was weird. I can see not telling small kids.
from fulfilling her congressional and political roles. That should be "ambitions" not "roles." I don't understand political ambition at that level.
I do not think Blabbermouth-Schultz is evil, quite to the contrary, but I do think she is nuts.
Who knew that crazed attack dogs could suffer from cancer?
How come women proudly proclaiming to "have it all" never seem to think that their children should "have it at all" when it comes to a a mom in their life that doesn't view children as a "fulltime job", rather than to be cherished?
Just as no man on his deathbed ever wished he'd spent more time at the office, no one looks back and wishes their mom had spent more time working and less time being mom. Unless she was a whcko.
I wish her luck in fighting her cancer.
She will, of course, access the best healthcare, using the gold plated coverage she has granted herself in Congress, paid for by people who make far less than she does, and not wait in line to use the ObamaCare she tinkled on down for the rest of us proles to get by on.
I also wish her to stop trying to run peoples lives and stealing their money via tyrannical progressivism.
Interest timing for the release of personal information. If DWS kept it secret for so long, why release it now in the midst of Republicans in the process of choosing an anti-Obama candidate?
It is a measure of the woman that she would pimp out her breast cancer and multi-tasking with her family to reinforce the notion beloved by progressives that she is a victim dealing with life's problems. I see her and her staff sitting around her family table laying out a list of topics that she can use to portray herself as a sympathetic character. Someone tosses out the idea that they can tie in her breast cancer to the recent brouhaha over Komen/PP and her dogs are going hungry because they support feminists and don't mind waiting an extra hour in the morning for their kibble.
Cynical? You bet. It comes with the territory when dealing with the democrats and POTUS. They have no credibility all the way down the food chain.
I think that the one good thing that I can say about the woman is that she comes across as so loathsome to so many, that it may be to her opponents' advantage. The Dems may have come up with someone actually likable in that position, and that might have helped them get their message across. I think that there is a wide swath of this country that just mentally turns her off when they see or hear her talking.
Cynical? You bet. It comes with the territory when dealing with the democrats and POTUS. They have no credibility all the way down the food chain.
Cynical isn't really the word that I'd use here.
