Aaron Rodgers wins NFL MVP.

He's still not in the Super Bowl, but... nice.

And congrats to UK alum, and Packer return man for play of the year too.

Congrats to Rodgers...and Jim Harbaugh too for AP Coach of the Year.

Outstanding job - much deserved.

And, if his offense makes more than 1 out of 13 third down conversions, or the refs don't blow the Ahmad Bradshaw fumble call, or his punt returner doesn't muff two punt returns...his team would have beat the Patriots tomorrow.

Oh well.

Next year.

Gotta love the guy! He told his mom he wanted to be the best quarterback in the NFL before he won the Super Bowl and after the Super Bowl he said he wanted to be the best "man" in the NFL. I think he's on his way for both titles.

Congrats!

We love Aaron here. Class act, unlike his predessor. I just cant get over the fact we are not in the Super Bowl - takes the shine off this award just a bit. Next Year :-(

Well deserved (from a Bears fan)

Now some advice. When you're an MVP NFL QB:

State Farm "Hey Rogers!" = Perfect!

Anything with WDavid "One call, that's all" Gruber?

How so?

The Packers couldn't manage to win a single playoff game even though they had home field advantage. Sad, very sad (and by sad I mean pathetic).

Awh, we'll never forget Brit.

A class act doesn't take a dig at another team in his acceptance speech. I don't mind the remark, it shows he's a competitive guy, but it's not classy. Rogers had a great regular season. He set the all time season QB rating, beating Manning's 2004 record. Maybe some day he'll break Brees season passing yard record or Brady's season TD pass record or Manning's 4 MVP record. He'll never break Favre's career TD record or Favre's career passing record.

What's so valuable about him if he cant get his team to the Super Bowl? Shouldn't the MVP go to someone who who is that valuable?

kjbe म्हणाले...

Tim, he carried his team to a 15-1 record with the worst defense in the league. Regardless, I think Brady or Manning would rather have the Lombardi trophy.

The Super Bowl has its own MVP. This is MVP for the regular season. I think most voters base it on who was most valuable to his team.

The reason his team isn't in the Super Bowl is because Rodgers isn't as good as Tom Brady. The Patriots defense is awful, like the Packers. It's great to put up numbers against the NFC central. It's another thing to do it in the playoffs. Rodgers couldn't overcome his team's defense like Brees did in 2009 and Brady did this year. Rodgers is not in the company of Tom Brady, who has been playing great for 10 years. Only Packers fans would think Rodgers is good as Brady. Rodgers has started 4 seasons on a good team. He has 1 Superbowl. Brady had 3 after his first four years playing on a good team.

Well deserved. He had a phenomenal season. However, I'm sorta surprised the vote was such a blowout. 48-2.

If you look at Rogers passer rating over the past 4-5 seasons, it is mostly clustered around slightly over 100. Then this year he puts up 122.

It's going to be interesting to see if this year was an outlier or if he' permanently taken his game to a new level. I tend to think this year may have been an outlier (the Kansas City game was the tell that he at least has bad days), but it's going to be fun to watch and see.
