"That sound you hear is an uptick in pens scratching signatures on recall petitions."

Says Triangle Man, commenting on the last post.

Exactly, in what nation would this method actually work in one's favor?

ndspinelli म्हणाले...

Pens or hens scratching?

अनामित म्हणाले...

Beautiful music to my ears.

ndspinelli म्हणाले...

I also love the sound of hens scratching..means fresh eggs for breakfast.

KCFleming म्हणाले...

That means Triangle Man, garage, and Allie have signed the petitions 4 more times each.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

I am honored by the recognition and will add it to my list of greatest hits.

Heart_Collector म्हणाले...

Scott Walker is a hero.

Whos Governer, the peoples governer.

Go back to your hobo camps and your socialogical ocean city experiments.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

@Pogo

It is necessary to protect one's signature from the scurrilous petition destroying felons, no?

Bushman of the Kohlrabi म्हणाले...

I'm guessing the uptick started when the (so-called nonpartisan)GAB endorsed multiple recall petition signings.

Bushman of the Kohlrabi म्हणाले...

Darn. As usual, Pogo beat me to it.

paminwi म्हणाले...

I want the GAB to do the work to make sure there is a searchable data base because I want to make sure no one used my name and/or address to sign a petition.

Do I believe someone would do this? Absolutely, you don't know the people in my neighborhood. I've caught kids trying to steal political signs out of my yard and when I have caught them and ask them what they are doing, I'm told my mom and dad think you are an awful person. When I have gone to their homes to tell "Mom and Dad" what their kid did, there is no apology, no response. So, yes, I think if those kind of conversations are happening in front of their children and their kid sees how they handle people disagreeing with their political viewpoint I can see them putting my name on a petition just because they know they can get away with it and have a good laugh about it!

This city is becoming more and more intolerable to live in every day!

Sorry I'd forgotten to put the tag on. Fixed.

KCFleming म्हणाले...

This was stupidly done, however.

Walker might just as well have signed the recall petition himself.

Pastafarian म्हणाले...

And that other more muffled sound, that you can just barely hear in the background, is Walker not giving a shit.

I think he's either relishing this opportunity to run yet another campaign against a weak opponent (whoever the fuck it is, I don't think they've even picked one), or he has the same attitude as Kasich here in Ohio, and he's determined to do what's right regardless of the political outcome.

I'd love to pick Allie's brain on how we should solve the debt crisis, but maybe that's for another thread.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

Walker might just as well have signed the recall petition himself.

If he signed four or five times against himself would he need to get a permit from himself 72 hours in advance?

1) Reduce spending. 2) Raise taxes.

Number 1, check. Number 2?

MnMark म्हणाले...

Walker might get recalled, and even if he isn't the unions are likely to get their pork back in an election or two anyway. The conservatives were empowered because Obama and the progressives overreached when they imposed Obamacare on the nation. That overreach gave conservatives one of their last shots at trying to retain the honest, small government and civil society our (white) forefathers created for us.

But the effort was doomed despite their temporary success. The nation is darkening and becoming more Third-World-ized as time passes. The blacks and hispanics will never have the standard of living of American whites because they aren't smart enough as a group to be engineers or entrepreneurs or to enter the professions (in a serious way, not counting AA) in significant numbers. So they are big on getting free stuff from the government, and the SWPL and hobo progressives are happy to oblige them in return for their support at election time.

In a decade or two there will be so many freeloading non-whites that it won't matter how outrageous the laws are that the Obamas and Pelosis of that day enact. There won't be enough white voting power to reverse it.

Then we descend into Third World poverty, corruption, crime, and persecution of whites (see South Africa; Google 'Kill the Boer') until the threshhold of tolerance of whites is reached and there is a civil war.

Here in Madison, my spending as a state employee has been reduced. But on the other side, because Dane County/Madison chose not to implement the reforms, my taxes will be raised as well.
So, check 1 and check 2 is already happening in this lovely town...

What spending? What taxes?

KCFleming म्हणाले...

Reduce spending?

On what, pray tell?

Certainly not your health care expenses.

As if on cue in response to my observation of the increasing Third World-ization of America, Drudge posts this link:

TWM म्हणाले...

As someone said in the original post that generated this cute comment - it won't cause anyone who wasn't already going to sign the petitions to sign them now.

That said, if Ann or Meade will say it changed their minds on a recall then I'll change my mind on this.

MnMark म्हणाले...

MnMark was wearing his Manson t-shirt and listening to Helter Skelter while tying his polemic.

Yeah, cuz, the idea of, say, black mobs running through the streets assaulting random innocent white victims in nice progressive Wisconsin is just so darn crazy.

edutcher म्हणाले...

That sound you hear is SEIU and ACORN putting names like Ann Meadhouse and Laurence Alt on paper all over WI.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

@Pogo

How about we reduce health care costs by eliminating fee-for-service reimbursement of physicians and facilities?

KCFleming म्हणाले...

"How about we reduce health care costs by eliminating fee-for-service reimbursement of physicians and facilities?"

Sure. That worked great for the UK.
Unless you're over 70, then it kinda sucked.
Or if you're poor.
Or if you lack political connections.
Or if you get the wrong chronic disease.

Otherwise it's a great idea. The docs over there run the whole shebang, and get to dictate their pay and work hours.

So have at it.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

Don't be so dramatic. How about expanding flat-fee or bundled reimbursements? Put a warranty on your work. OBs mostly get a flat fee now to cover everything from pre-natal through delivery.

No, TWM, I have not changed my mind on the recall and I agree with whoever said that it won't cause anyone who wasn't already going to sign the petitions to sign them now.

edutcher, LOL and true!

KCFleming म्हणाले...

BTW, Triangle Man, imposing price controls doesn't actually 'reduce costs'. That's why price controls are inflationary and never ever work.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

Probably not someone who was determined not to sign, but someone who was on the fence or hand't "found the time" to sign might have a stronger motivation to do something now. Do you think it's going to win him any fans from people who were in that category?

KCFleming म्हणाले...

"OBs mostly get a flat fee now to cover everything from pre-natal through delivery."

That and malpractice insurance explain the national shortage of OBs.

See, all you guys ever legislate is for someone else to pay for the shit you want.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

Bundled payment is not price control.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

This makes no sense. Do you not know what bundled payment means? It is intermediate between fee-for-service and capitation. It is a reimbursement plan under a private insurance arrangement, but could also be used under Medicare.

Hysterical.

I love when you silly leftists pretend you actually want to reduce spending.

You want to "reduce spending" just not on:
teacher pensions, teacher health care, medicaid, Head Start, school lunches, WIC, enviornmental regulatory enfocement, public housing, finanical sector regulatory enforcement, etc, etc, etc.

KCFleming म्हणाले...
ही टिप्पणी लेखकाना हलविली आहे.
KCFleming म्हणाले...

"Do you not know what bundled payment means?"

Sure I do.

It's a bullshit term meaning you want to fix prices. The government uses its coercive power and allows you to "negotiate" fees.

But you have no real options, so it's not a negotiation at all. Until doctors unionize.

So again, you want other people to give you the stuff you want for free or at less than the going rate.

Toad Trend म्हणाले...

"But you have no real options, so it's not a negotiation at all. Until doctors unionize."

Yes. Imagine going out for a meal, sitting down, and just a minute later you are served your 'meal'.

You received no menu nor did you place your order. Your debit card was swiped upon entry and there are no refunds.

Do we really want to have a product as critical as 'health care services' subject to a monolithic big-government approach???

Just a hunch, but I think not.

Oh, and a day shouldn't go by without saying 'Nancy Pelosi is a blithering idiot'. Go ahead, you know you want to...

Hell, Obama says he wants to cut spending. Talk is cheap.

Good luck doing this to any effect that it will matter.

You could confiscate the entire incomes of the 1% and not put a dent in the debt issue.

Where will you get 14 TRILLION dollars worth of cuts and taxes when you can't even cut the rate of increase without a full-blown hissy fit from overemotional ignoramuses.

Funny no one said encourage and expedite economic growth.

Triangle Man म्हणाले...

So again, you want other people to give you the stuff you want for free or at less than the going rate.

I guess you're right. There isn't anything wrong with the way doctors are payed. If they fuck up and have to do something over, you might as well pay twice because you're getting twice the work from a highly trained professional. I'm sure there are plenty of examples of incentive structures that reward incompetence in other healthy markets.

Heart_Collector म्हणाले...

"1) Reduce spending. 2) Raise taxes."

If you cant manage x amount of money and balance your budget, what makes you think you can do it with x+y?

Raising taxes would only work if you had 100% effectiveness with the current tax money you get and you still didnt have enough... Which obviously isnt the case.

If your kid spent their entire allowance on candy and now dosnt have money for lunch, giving him more money might mean he just spend sit on cigs or weed and stays hungry, keep giving him money? Oh look he bought a mustang, still hungry, needs more money... Here ya go... Mmmm Cocaine? Hes still hungry, FEED HIM, MORE MONEY WILL SOLVE THIS.

You get the point.

Heart_Collector म्हणाले...

Our Government has shown us that they are going to waste the money on frivelous shit.

Liberals say keep giving them the money and they will do the right thing. Conservatives say learn to use the money you get. Its that simple.

TWM म्हणाले...

"Probably not someone who was determined not to sign, but someone who was on the fence or hand't "found the time" to sign might have a stronger motivation to do something now."

Not from Wisconsin but having paid attention to the politics over the past months - much thanks to Ann and Meade by the way - I have to ask, are there any people really on the fence there?

Meade म्हणाले...

No, TWM, no one is on the fence. They say they have a little over half the signatures they need but those were all the low hanging fruits. Now their real challenge begins - how to beat bushes and shake trees to get people to sign just so they'll leave them alone. They'll either get enough signatures and turn them in or they won't and then try to keep the total number a secret so that people won't know exactly how big of losers they really are.
