"From our family to yours, blessings of the season."

Fighting the recall with all-out blandness, it's Scott Walker.

Hard to hate bland. It's just so...bland.

Perhaps this should have been the advertisement I had to sit through with my preschooler when watching Rudolph, Frosty, and the other little kid Christmas specials.

Instead, I saw the `sour grapes' anti-recall ad that I saw while watching all but one kids special.

It's a little late to try to act above it all ... unveiling an advertisement only days before the holiday?

Too lame too late ... every holiday TV everything has already aired. When the TV goes off in most houses over the weekend - he'll just be wasting his money.

Any video of him anywhere showing any personality or emotion? It's pretty rare.

Scot Ross' responds: Fuck you, and the reindeer you rode in on.

Toad Trend म्हणाले...

No problem with it. In this case, bland is good.

What did you expect he and his family to do with a Christmas greeting? Light up an SEIU tee shirt and use it to roast marshmallows?

Bland but still a refreshing counterpoint to the hate on the other side.

Glad to see that you received my Christmas card ;)

Should have just cut it to, "Gott Mit Uns".

Scott Walker is a good and decent man, a rare thing among those of the political class. What you see on camera is what he is, and what his family is.

He's much like George W. Bush in that he simply doesn't hurl invective no matter how much is hurled at him.

God bless you and your family, Governor Walker. And thank you.

I prefer the fighting against the recall. Why should he refrain from doing that (other than for this Christmas break reprieve)?

Seems to me that the people trying to get a recall are the ones who should back off... and wait until the next election. I feel like the whole recall procedure is harassing us. We voted for a governor with a 4-year term. Let him serve and try to do something, and we'll judge him in the year he's up for reelection.

Constitutional harassment.

My property tax bill has arrived. Five percent less than it was last year. Thanks Governor Walker

Meade म्हणाले...

Our property tax bill arrived too. Even higher than last year. Thanks, Dane County Progrssives and Madison City Council Spenders. Oh, and Madison school board.

Thanks a lot.

Mark म्हणाले...

Meade, didn't we vote ourselves the MATC increase?

I've lived in the suburbs for well over a decade, so your school board is thankfully not my mess.

As for Ann's statement about not liking the recall ... I'm not particularly fond of the 2nd Amendment [at least as interpreted], but yet I'm not making a crusade about how the people taking advantage of that right are somehow bad for doing so.

If you don't like what's in the Constitution, get it changed.

Another Christmas surprise! The members of the municipal workers union (AFSCME) where I live have voted to de-certify their union and to donate collected dues to several local charities and organizations.

Meade, why do you hate democracy! :-P

btw, I wanna party w/Scott Walker ...

"Meade, why do you hate democracy! :-P"

Because democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for dinner.

It's easy to vote to pay for stuff with someone elses money. And sure, it's democracy. Majority rule. But a majority that gets whatever it wants will certainly chose to get what it wants at the expense of the minority opinion, and that isn't liberty, it's tyranny.

(Yes, I saw the winkey ;-P)

Alex म्हणाले...

Honestly Ann, I don't get you. You teach law and yet you can't respect Wisconsin law on the issue of recalls? So the law is only good when it suits your mood?

Michael Haz म्हणाले...

That ^ is a profoundly weak argument.

Alex म्हणाले...

Yeah I get it, Ann is whining like a Wisconsin voter who doesn't respect the Wisconsin constitution. Not as as law professor. I get it. It still doesn't make her right. She's wrong, wrong, wrong. The liberals are playing by the rules and Ann doesn't like that.

Synova म्हणाले...

Alex, you're an idiot.

There is no compulsion in the law or in the constitution that demands people have a recall. The constitution allows it, it makes provision for it, but people can chose not to do what the law allows them to do.

Wishing that people would show more responsibility and judgment isn't weak thinking about the law.

Weak thinking about the law and/or constitution is the notion that because it is *allowed* that no one is actually responsible... the state constitution MADE THEM demand this needless expense.

Bravo.

Great quote!

Synova for the win.

I'm (mis)quoting someone else. I just don't remember who.
