"I cannot stand him. He's a liar"/"You're fed up with him? I have to deal with him every day."

Sarkozy and Obama, picked up on a live microphone, bitching about Netanyahu.

Some people have a very difficult time dealing with someone who is clearly their superior.

Christopher in MA म्हणाले...

And Bibi has to deal with you every day, SCOAMF. Like a bowel movement, though not nearly as pleasant.

अनामित म्हणाले...

"Neither leader apparently realised that microphones that had been attached for a press conference had already been switched on"

Baloney.

...another unforced error!!

Obama's line:

Not all Jews are hateful, just the elected Government of Israel is hateful.

Not all Israeli Jews are hateful, just Jews who are settlers in Jerusalem are hateful.

Not all Jews who are settlers in Jerusalem are hateful, just the ones still alive are hateful.

Ergo, Obama does not hate Jews. Where do you get that idea?

Tank म्हणाले...

Understandable from Zero. I mean, in the that one mutual press conference they had Bibi took off Zero's pants and spanked him for about five minutes, and all Zero could do was take it.

अनामित म्हणाले...

Those Hamas folks are so pleasant compared to Bibi.

Scott M म्हणाले...

There was something in the link last night referring to some pledge the media people that heard the 3 minute open mic convo had to take so that details wouldn't leak out.

Doesn't that strike anyone else as odd? If not for the very act of making them take a pledge, then for the expectation that all of them would abide by it.

Now tell me again about defending the people of Israel!

Henry म्हणाले...

Thank God they were complaining about Netanyahu and not their wives.

Jenny म्हणाले...

I think it's been said before, but I'm fed up with dealing with Obama every day.

TWM म्हणाले...

Barry is such a liar. The only thing he does every day is golf.

They didn't keep mum about this! TOTAL MSM BULLSHIT!

अनामित म्हणाले...

Sorry for the long post:

Obama is aligned with the same political ideology...closer to the Euopean Left.

Samantha Power, Anne Marie Slaughter (New World Order) and the human rights, liberte definition of liberty. Also, the old bust of Churchill for MLK swap is telling in the Oval Office. He's closer to liberation theology and anti-colonialism than not. It's more Wilsonian than we've been for a long while.

As for the Muslim world, it's still pretty tribal in many places, dealing with a Islamic purity resurgence, and angry about not controlling its own destiny. There are real threats and some opportunities.

Ironically, Christopher Hitchens, former Marxist is on the new sharp edge of Western/Middle Eastern conflict..drawing bright lines in the Western political defnese of liberty against the messianism, Islamic moral absolutism, and terrorism that we have to deal with

Other Leftists just try to cram eveything under multiculturalism and diversity and equality in their pursuit of the pure, secular public square (just like Europe!). It's as much about supplanting religious views as it is anything else.

It will probably create more of a schism between the Leftist purity liberty folks and the far right evangelical religious purity folks for a little while.

Clyde म्हणाले...

A man is known by both the caliber of his friends and his foes. If Obama doesn't like someone, then that person's stock goes up with me.

Obama appears to be all wee wee'd up.

jrberg3 म्हणाले...

Now that's what I call improving our diplomacy and image worldwide, insulting the leader of our strongest democratic ally.

Joaquin म्हणाले...

I don't see how anyone can say that we are an ally of Israel. We're not! Israel is all by itself, and they know it.

Fen म्हणाले...

Typical metrosexual bitch "soft" diplomacy. The West is praying for Israel to take out the Iranian nuclear program, but doesn't have the balls to admit it publicly.

This is merely distancing ourselves from the attack because we're afraid of Islam's retaliation.

Fen म्हणाले...

ie. it was staged.

They must think Muslims are stupid.

Hoosier Daddy म्हणाले...

The French and Obama don't like the Jews?

I'm shocked!

edutcher म्हणाले...

Nobody ever talked to him like that before.

How dare Netanyahu say those things in front of his adoring throng.

And then there's what GodZero said to Nic at the closing festivities of the G20.

I'm so glad we have that Smart Diplomacy.

Bart Hall (Kansas, USA) म्हणाले...

Just as with the "leak" of Israel's plans to attack Iran, this is battlespace preparation all around. FUD central -- fear, uncertainty, doubt.

Britain allowed to "leak" plans to invade Europe at Calais, not Normandy.

I suspect France and the USA are intentionally both creating distance and the IMPRESSION of disapproval, but what happens behind the scenes (IFF codes and so on) will be a completely different story.

It is probably pertinent that our two carrier groups in the Persian Gulf -- Stennis and Bush -- have quite recently departed the area for the more open waters of the Arabian Sea.

In the meantime, Israel has at least five Dolphin subs, each with at least 24 SLCMs having a range of >1500 km, many of which are tactical-nuke capable.

They also have an unknown (but substantial) number of ALCMs (the Popeye) developped for their Air Force.

From eastern Syria -- where they operate with impunity -- and the Arabian Sea, Israel can cover over 90% of Iran with cruise missiles, of which they have several hundred.

Add to this equation the IAF's numerous extended-range F-15s, which are capable of reaching Bagram, where (wink, wink, nod, nod) they could be re-fueled and re-armed for a shuttle-bombing return run. On the first run they'll be targetting scientists and workers.

Little wonder the US wants a (crudely) staged public opportunity to distance.

Speaking of Jews:

There is a big controversy on the Jewish view of when life begins. In
Jewish tradition, the fetus is not considered viable until it graduates from medical school.

Chip S. म्हणाले...

Shoulda done a mic check.

Christopher म्हणाले...

Meh.

Obama hasn't forgiven Netanyahu for humiliating him on air and given the thinness of Obama's skin this is probably the least worrisome thing he could do.

Methadras म्हणाले...

Israel has its back against the sea, hammas and hezbollah at its north, east, and south. Beyond that are several arab nations that want to destroy it wholesale. And yet, it has one of the best employment rates in the world, the 2nd largest technological center in the world, it is enjoying a gdp growth rate that is the envy of every middle-eastern shit hole if not europe and it still maintains an arab-israeli populace that is more integrated and stable than every other middle-eastern shit hole can do with their own populaces. All the while you have your largest friend and ally, the US in the form of the empty suit Erkle trying to sell you out to his via his sympathetic ties to Marxist Muslim apparatchiks to stab you in the back and then you have the spineless frog eaters who are willing to overlook the transgressions of all of the other muslime shit holes against you. Yeah, I'd say that as the Israeli prime minister, you have your work cut out for you.

Joanna म्हणाले...

For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country.

Nora म्हणाले...

Bitching is the right word. This lovely pair of failures are midgets next to Netanyahu.

Netanyahu is probably the only leader in the western world today that has at least some qualities the statesmen are made from. He has many accomplishments to show, including successful confrontation with the public sector unions, and orchestrating last years Israeli economic prosperity (although the current economic crisis did not pass Israel by, the country is still in better shape than most). And this is in addition to him being proven right on his prediction near 30 years ago of consequences of western democracies failure to confront the Arab autocracies preference for terrorist tactics for achieving their political aims.

Scott M म्हणाले...

He has many accomplishments to show, including successful confrontation with the public sector unions

Speaking of which...does anyone have any news out of Ohio? Is Garage strangely silent because he was bussed down from WI to vote early and often?

Chase म्हणाले...

Israel's leader's IQ is higher than our leader's IQ

His balls are way bigger too.

So sad, especially considering the stereotype our current leader SHOULD be under (and that stereotype is perpetuated by African American comedians, including just the other night on Comedy Central, so don't you be lookin' my way, bro).

Chase म्हणाले...

Ha ha Methadras,

"President Urkle"

I like that.

Chip Ahoy म्हणाले...

Aaaah kwerd.

Amartel म्हणाले...

I'd like to think that this is all attempted theater, a big dumb set- up to allow the US to distance itself publicly while privately providing support to Israel. That's the least vile reading. Unfortunately, even that level of aptitude and decency is beyond Bumble and his super-genius Administration. They've never shown real support for Israel and never will. The only foreign policy they've gotten right was inherited from Bush. The comment was intentional and heartfelt.
NO CLASS.

==================
I urge you to shed your boot licking ways.
Disliking some Jews is not akin to instant anti-Semitism - much as the criticized Jews and their loyal syncophants want to make it the case.
Netanyahu and Omert and Sharon were all liars and doublecrossers.

The only claim they can make is that as Odious and Treacherous as the Israeli leadership is, Hamas and Hezbollah and Syria are worse.

Synova म्हणाले...

Brilliant.

Synova म्हणाले...

There wasn't a single embarrassing thing in that transcript of Bush. He says Syria could get Hezbollah to stop bombing Israel, and gripes about the UN leader not pressuring Syria to do so, and expresses concern that his schedule impacts people because of the security involved. Nothing personal, nothing insulting, and nothing he wouldn't say "in public."

Particularly the bit about security...

"Bush, a stickler for keeping to his schedule, could also be heard telling Putin, “We’ve got to keep this thing moving. I have to leave at 2:15. They want me out of town so to free up your security forces.”"

That's pretty classy.

Don't forget Nat Hentoff, though.

Gary Rosen म्हणाले...

"Hamas and Hezbollah and Syria are worse."

Fudd, how do you square that with your frequent slobbering blowjobs on the Hezzies and your siding with the 9-11 dancers against Israel, plus your made-up lying horseshit about what great allies the Arabs have been to the US?

अनामित म्हणाले...

"...And Bibi has to deal with you every day, SCOAMF. Like a bowel movement, though not nearly as pleasant."

Kind of reminds me of the time when Churchill was in the bathroom and a certain MP came to apologize for something he said about him in parliament.

When the MP came to the door the servant announced his presence and Churchill replied "I can only take one shit at a time!"
