"Fans aren't shy about approaching him in public, often assuming he and his crass 'Curb [Your Enthusiasm]' alter ego are the same person."

"'Oh, I get Leon all day long,' Mr. Smoove said. Passersby on the street often call out his character's lewd catchphrases."

Ha ha. Which lewd catchphrase do you think they're calling out to him? You won't find out reading this Wall Street Journal profile of JB Smoove (AKA Jerry Brooks), which has stuff like this...
He started studying comedy in earnest in high school. "I loved Peter Sellers," he recalled. "I thought he was the perfect mix of physical comedy with out-of-the-box humor. I loved his tone, I loved his physicality, I loved everything about what he was doing as a comedic actor."
... but you might hear some of those catchphrases here:

"hit it and quit it", "long balls" ...

I'd have to watch this at least a dozen times to pick up on most of the catch phrases. Hilarious.

I don't watch the show, but how are those catchphrases? Catchphrases are repeated. Like "Whatchu talkin' about Willis".

Great clip! Larry David is smart enough to know he needed a good, strong character. The show was wearing thin because of Larry's abrasiveness. Leon revived the show.

Additionally, Larry David is one of the few white comedians to deal w/ race in a non pc way, and Leon helps facilitate that.

Ha! I ask you for a black man who matters and you give me,...a black man who matters!

Tre cool!

It's wonderful how the left is willing to embrace the most offensive stereotypes if they are presented in the guise of edgy humor. Sometime back there was a plot sequence in Weeds which demonstrated how lazy, criminal, and dishonest Mexicans were. It then portrayed the Minute Men patrols as racist and ignorant. Comedy is a piece of cake that you can devour forever. Larry David can make fun of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's because he does it in an edgy way. If Limbaugh goes anywhere near such a topice, it just shows how beyond the bounds if decency that scumbag really is.

This reminds me of William Atherton getting called "dickless" by Ghostbuster fans.

Twisted balls.

I can relate.

Speaking of "jacking off" to Clara Edwards (Hope Summers) of the Andy Griffith show...

Ever notice Roman Polanski let "Clara" out of the scene where all the old people are standing around the bed in the nude while Satan has sex with Rosemary?

Evidently, implied nudity was too edgy for her people.

Did not understand one word he spoke. Was that English or a foreign language he was speaking?

I had higher hopes for this show.

This is terrible! Who watches this stuff?
