Looks like a guy with a periscope for an eye.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Union Leader's endorsement will do for Newt. A lot of skeptics out there; how many will be turned, even a little, will be interesting to see.

I see also GodZero's approval among among Jews is at 45%. How many constituencies can he lose?

I don’t care, Obama is AWESOME!

I doubt Newtie is polling too well amongst the descendants of Abraham, but maybe that will change.

I do expect a barrage of bad press now that he is the front runner.

Took the daughter back to the dorms tonight. She slept all of the last two days, practically. Guess it's better that she's sick at home vs. in the dorms. Not the Thanksgiving Break she wanted.

Not that I am perseverating about AA's post several weeks ago about a conspiracy theory, but I wonder if maybe I have it figured out.

1) Tommy Thompson says he's going to run for Senate 2012
2) This causes Russ Feingold to decide that he's not going to run, since TT is generally well liked and would be a tough match up compared to lesser known Republicans. Feingold knows that another loss would be too difficult to recover from politically
3) In reality, TT is NOT really going to run for the 2012 Senate seat. He is just giving the Dems a little head fake so their best candidates sit it out.
4) This clears the way for a weaker (than TT) Republican candidate to run and defeat a marginal Dem candidate in Baldwin.

Tim Tebow is really giving John Elway a dilemma in Denver by winning the games that Denver must lose to get the high draft choice he needs to draft a real passing quarterback like himself and Andrew Luck.

If Elway can only find some Florida cheerleaders who felt they were sexually harassed by Tebow, then maybe he can bench him.

J. J. Watts was the star for Houston's defense today, as was Andy Dalton for Cincinnati's offense. It's like watching the Rose Bowl from 11 months ago.

Tim Tebow is running for the Senate?

It certainly sounds like a good idea to me. He will never succeed as an NFL QB but he will certainly attract beaucoup votes from the religious right.

Freeman Hunt म्हणाले...

Meth has now been around long enough that everyone knows meth addicts end up looking like skanks pulled fresh from car accidents. Who wants that? Why would anyone try such a drug?

"Here, try this. It will turn you into a pathetic addict. Also, it will make you ugly."

Why do people go for that? Why?!

Freeman Hunt म्हणाले...

I don't follow football, but I know that Tebow was homeschooled. Therefore I'm on his side in whatever you're talking about.

I kid, I kid.

अनामित म्हणाले...

I do love me some Tim Tebow!!

Not that I think he is a good QB, but he is a good football player and person. He is totally up front with who he is. You can love him or hate him and he won't change.

And yes, those qualities are the same thing that will carry him to the Senate in 2012, Madison Man.

Wally Kalbacken म्हणाले...

I think the Tebow situation shows that sports media are incredibly biased and perfectly willing to be bigoted. His season so far (even prior to tonight's win) was better than Elway's initial season, and they thought he walked on water, even in that initial year.

His play is debatable (the first half is a mess and he bails the team out late in the game, where a more seasoned player with a better supporting cast wouldn't be in the position to need the last minute dramatics), but the attention they pay to his overt religiosity is way beyond what is needed.

Between this and the Penn State matter, I'd almost want to boycott ESPN. But here on Death Row in the Florida State Prison, our cable system doesn't give me any alternatives.

You can totally clean your house in 15 minutes before you wreck it again in 30 - what's not to love?

Hmmmm: ultra-religious quarterback who "walked on water" facing bigotry from the media?

Am I missing something?

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

Crack... I don't see Tebow as ultra religious at all. He just worships something other than himself and football. That simple act opens up possibilities for leadership that would be missing without it.

Religious doctrines narrow a person until he becomes useless, but worshiping the living God expands a person's abilities to deal with reality. That is what Tebow demonstrates every time he cooly deals with tough game situations without interceptions like other Quarterbacks throw in desperation.

I'm sorry I polluted this thread with talk of a quarterback other than the very dominant and Great Aaron Rodgers.

The number of teams who would rather have Tebow at the helm vs. Rodgers, all other things being equal, is a null set.

Henry म्हणाले...

Tebow has a very good defense.

If he'd been drafted by Bill Belichick, he'd be playing special teams and have a future.

And by God that makes him a boring interview.

Actually I've read some laudatory anecdotes about Tebow's leadership skills. Football is a game of extra effort and leadership makes a difference. He's opposite-world Brett Favre.

Saw the new Muppet movie tonight. Loved it. So good. Taken back to the original feel of the Muppets, with great music, some of which was written by Bret McKenzie of The Flight of the Conchords.

Great fun.

Don't get me wrong: I was merely commenting previously on the push-back he's received, not passing judgement.

You're religious, so what you see is different from the rest. I mean, I see no point in "worshipping" anything - I only see danger and/or delusion in it - so he could be found to walk on water, literally, and it would make no difference to me. It's not like he's alone.

I'm the one that's alone,...

Craig म्हणाले...

Deleuzeanal thought is usually overrated by its proponents and often underestimated by its detractors.

I don't have a problem, but, if you use an IE alternative, you might.

Especially Safari.
