Remember the Orange Revolution in Ukraine and the rise of Yulia V. Tymoshenko?

"Yulia V. Tymoshenko, once one of Ukraine’s most powerful and popular politicians, was sentenced on Tuesday to seven years in prison, the culmination of a politically charged trial that could presage the end of the country’s short and often raucous experiment with democracy."

The NYT reports.

I still have a lot of reservations about Cain. He seems like a loose cannon and I don't like his 9-9-9 plan.

But, I may have to support him just to be entertained by the leftwing racism against Mr Cain. I see one prominate Democrat said Cain is smoking a "symbolic crack pipe". What next? Throw watermelons at him?

Actually, Putin's back in charge.

The "orange revolution" didn't amount to a hill of beans!

And, soon the "arab spring" will pop into famine winter.

It's the slow way to go.

Was it Yulia v. Tymoshenko in which the court instituted the "unignitable borscht" rule?

The problem was that democracy and crony capitalism soon meant "dismal economy and massive corruption".
Piles of Western scam artists coming in. Jews and "connected" mobsters from the UK, Romania, German banks hoping they could corner ownership in areas of resources and production and rival the Russian Oligarch networks.

We had our chance, and we blew it on seeing E Europe as a place for rapacious businessmen, make a buck quick con artists to try and plunder. By supporting the local corrupocrats.

Putin has not marched into Ukraine...yet. But the Russians did do so in Georgia.

I am sorry this happened to her. Not good news.

I do not want to make light of this, but I like her braids.

Cedarford may not know that the present Jewish population of Russia is the smallest (in proportion to the total) in many centuries.

Of course, Cedarford won't be satisfied until it has reached 0%.

The fate of Tymoshenko is what our resident lefties wished for Bush and Cheney. Thankfully the US observes a little more due process than Ukraine, despite Eric Holder's perversions of the Justice Department.
