2011 Nobel Peace Prize has "included the Arab Spring... but we have put it in a particular context."

Unless the new governments include women "there will be no democracy."
The Nobel Committee characterizes the prize to Yemeni rights campaigner Tawakkul Karman as a "signal" to the Arab world to deal with "the oppression of women."

Sharing the prize are Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberian activist Leymah Gbowee.

Ah the horror, those race traitor Norski Politicans describing her as " Ms. Johnson Sirleaf, a Harvard-educated economist "

where is that old Lutefisk solidarity with Wisconsin?

"Harvard-educated economist"

Weapon of market destruction.

It's a shame they trashed any claim to seriousness they had when they awarded the Prize to Barack Obama for accomplishing absolutely nothing at no personal risk to himself. The stench still lingers from that epic bout of political correctness.

Kcom and Pogo: Do some research before spouting off, please. I have family connections in West Africa, especially Liberia; and therefore I know that Pres. Johnson-Sirleaf and Leymah Gbowee have done much to stop the bleeding in Liberia. I refer you to the film cited in the link above. They have both fought hard against corruption and violence, and they deserve the recognition.

I want to see them hand out that statue.

Maybe not. Looks like she was at the now closed Madison Business College, not UW. Her degree was from Colorado.

Maybe Lara Logan can give a speech at the award ceremony about how peaceful and respectful to women the Arab Spring was...
