"Obama’s Middle East Is in Tatters, Utter Tatters."

"It is not actually his region. Still, with the arrogance that is so characteristic of his behavior in matters he knows little about (which is a lot of matters), he entered the region as if in a triumphal march...."

It's Martin Peretz, railing against our battered President.

The middle east chaos is not all Obama's doing. True, he decided it was good policy to throw the Jews to the Muslims and he did that by loosing 60 years of restraint on Muslims so that he could win their respect.

But Obama never knew that the Muslims despise weak people and only respect people who fight them.

The Muslims surrounding Jerusalem now ignore the Obama non-entity and intend to do again what the tried and failed to do in 1948.

We will soon get to see if the Muslims' weapons can exterminate the Jews, or if the Jews' weapons and tactics are still stronger.

The sad thing is that Obama has ruined the USA by his Jew Hating policy.

Obama and Farrakhan are the best of friends on this issue. And electing Farrakhan president would not have been any different.

Leading from behind, indeed. I agree with most of Peretz's criticism, but I am hard pressed to think of a region of the world where Obama has achieved better results than in the Middle East.

He still is popular in Europe, though. He hardly asks European countries to do much of anything, but Europeans are okay with that. The benefits for the United States are hard to see, but he keeps his poll number up in Europe.

"battered"??

Can a battering be self-inflicted? The MSM finally pulled their lips off his butt-cheeks, and found the economy in shambles.

What a performance!! From 0 to lame duck in less than 3 years.

Does this inevitable result of groveling dhimmitude really surprise anyone?

And I don't doubt young Barry Soetero was the easy mark of every schoolyard bully for miles around.

No surprise there. His feelings toward the US pretty much mirror the Euros.

Better being defined as handing large swathes of territory over to the Moslem crazies.

Not if the recent Euro press is any indicator.

They've figured out he's all hat and no cattle, too.

Now if Obozo were to permit full bore drilling at home along with shale oil here we would be able to tell the Muzzies next fight you have with the Yids you are on your own. If they whip your ass and kick you out, we won't stop them. The would sober the Arabs up. Every single time the Israeli's are going hand the Arabs their ass, the West puts the brakes on for the Arabs. Next time, let the Israeli's finish their enemies off. That Obama is a fool is a given but to be fair its Clinton who fathered this mess by elevating that execrable excuse of a man Arafat to a position he was never entitled to.

cubanbob म्हणाले...

Notice how the Europeans are all so pro Palestinian an invented people but ignore a legitimate people, the Kurds? maybe the Israeli's should smuggle stinger like anti-aircraft missiles to the Kurds and why does the US allow Iran and Turkey to launch artillery and air attacks against the Kurds in Iraq? Why would we not want to destabilize the Iranians, the Syrians and the Turks? They ain't no friend of ours. And as it so happens, the Iraqi and Iranian oil fields just happen to be mostly in Kurdistan.

There was never any reason to expect any better from our grossly inexperience, narcissistic president who mistook the benefits of affirmative action, white liberal guilt and unfathomably stupid voters for qualification and accomplishment.

November '12 isn't just an election, it's an intelligence test.

Don't fail again, America.

Cuba?

Not sure why you think that his results have been all that good in the Middle East. Thanks to his sucking up to the despots there, and ignoring our allies, etc., that area is turning into a tender box. Radical Islamists seem to have taken control of Egypt, may be doing so in Libya, and even pushed Jordan to reconsider its relationship with Israel.

Those "dictators" that were pushed aside (and, in Egypt's case, put in a cage), were helping keep the lid on the problems there. No one is stepping into their shoes. Rather, much of the Moslem Middle East seems now to be tip-toeing around trying to forstall a similar takeover by radical Islamists.

Showing his leadership, we still don't know if the U.S. will veto UN membership of the PLO, claiming much of the same territory as does UN member and long time US ally Israel. Dammed if he does (by all his Muslim "friends" in the Middle East) and dammed if he doesn't (by the Jews who helped put him in office).

As I said, the region is ready to ignite right now. The Palestinians in Gaza keep trying to import heavy arms and rockets from Iran. Egypt, until the revolution was helping keep the lid on there. Not much longer. I think that we may see the first use of nuclear weapons in anger since 1945 as a result.

So, no, I don't think that either President Obama, nor Secretary Hillary! have done all that well in that part of the world.

What you mean "our" Kemosabe?

Obama has made it very clear he is not president of all the people.

In my lifetime I've been horrified (Johnson), loathed (Nixon), and appalled (Clinton) by our president, but I feel nothing for Obama, not even pity.

Water, babies and jobs. Too little of the first and last and way too many of the middle. Couple that with ruling group that literally act like ticks, sucking the lifeblood out of the system for their own good and you have a real mess.

The middle east is in tatters because the governments can't afford to pay off the populations any more - except for a few oil drenched places that still are raking in the dough. The rest of area has lived large and now finds that it cant even grow enough food to feed itself.

Couple all that with a stuggle over the soul for control (religion) which fosters an attitide of complete hostility toward anything which does not conform to its rules and you top situation with a inflexibility to change.

When you see a government change in the middle east that advocates birth control, that removes all of the monopoly control of business from the military and elite, and actually pushes pluralism, then I will believe in change. Until then - the "change" is just a tattered illusion.
