Found at the Qaddafi compound: an album filled with photos of Condoleezza Rice.

It's not surprising, considering his past expressions of fondness for the ex-Secretary of State:
"I support my darling black African woman," he said [in 2007]. "I admire and am very proud of the way she leans back and gives orders to the Arab leaders. ... Leezza, Leezza, Leezza. ... I love her very much. I admire her, and I'm proud of her, because she's a black woman of African origin."

The following year, Gadhafi and Rice had an opportunity to meet when the secretary of state paid a historic visit to Libya — one that made steps toward normalizing relations after the United States went decades without an ambassador in Tripoli. ...

During the visit, he presented Rice with a diamond ring, a lute, a locket with an engraved likeness of himself inside and an inscribed edition of "The Green Book," a personal political manifesto that explains his "Third Universal Theory for a new democratic society."

Well, that's why I disagree with the word "left" so much.

Basically, ALL Americans have been LEFT OUT. Dubya did the harms that blew up the bubble. Even though he had good people on his team.

Dubya took a dump on both Cheney and Rumsfeld. Which I think PROVES why stinkers make such poor bosses. Because they can't stomach brighter people "on top."

We were lucky to have both Rumsfeld AND Cheney!

And, one way the media tried to assassinate Cheney ... who really does have amazing stregth in the face of health issues that would fell other men ...

Was cast aside by Condi Rice. And, Colin Powell.

In the end? Well, Karl Rove is still trying to push things for the Bush's. There's Jeb out there ... as if this wouldn't just kill Florida dead.

Anyway, there really is NO left!

Just the religious zealots who make the right look even worse.

And, people will be pickling through the ruins. But things will stay divided.

When most Americans know that since Truman's time, something really went amiss!

We've seen two assassinations of presidents: JFK and Nixon. Press related. And, in Nixon's case, with the dirty hands of the FBI.

All the people are just in the crossfire.

I LOVED Rumsfeld's book! So, there ya go. High hopes for Cheney's. (Rummy's the one who brought Cheney on board ... Because Rummy had the "relationship" with Gerry Ford.)

Inside politics. Rummy's book was FANTASTIC! He worked with what he had. As a maverick. Stuff fell short? Doesn't it always?

The elites really have all the levers now. And, they're nobody's friend but their own.

Big deal. I'll bet Scott Walker has the same thing for Ms Althouse.

Heh, it's all rather sweet. Condi could have prevented all this brouhaha now. Maybe.

wv: nottalef. You bet.

Turns out Qaddafi and I have at least one thing in common. Two, if you count orange silk moo-moos.

How many Palin "scrapbooks" do you suppose are out there?

And I bet there's either no correlation or an inverse correlation to political orientation.

Carol_Herman म्हणाले...

Nope. I trust Rumsfeld.

Rumfeld tried to fix what was broken in the GOP, when he reached The House of Representatives. That's how Gerry Ford ... got to be a leader. Got along with everybody. But Rummy had to push him. To prove to him how deadly the GOP House of Representatives became with "cronyism."

Two very decent men. Rummy. Ad, Cheney.

Dubya? What an inconsiderate bastard! He knew Cheney's ticker keeps working in spite of itself. Yet, he went to Condi Rice ... and set that foolish woman dancing! All over everything. Worse than Obama!

At least Obama doesn't get in the way ... and dance with the french!

And, ya know what? Condi Rice thought she'd become president! What with Dubya pushing her forward.

Maybe, Cheney will lay out the map?

Condi IS an attractive woman.

Wonder if she knew that she could have OWNED Qaddafi? Have him eating out of her hand. Peeling her grapes . . .

(Heavy) sigh . . . . That would have saved all of this current Libyan silliness.

...a personal political manifesto that explains his "Third Universal Theory for a new democratic society."

Why is it even the most brutal, undemocratic despots always have "democratic" in their manifestos or in the country name? How democratic was Libya? How democratic is the DPRK?

I say surprising.

Not shocking, perhaps.

The irony is, where Ms Rice is concerned, Muammar showed a Hell of a lot more class than the Lefty hypocrites.

WV "singnmen" Groups who don't sound like castrati.

Qaddafi has always had a thing for attractive women. No surprise there, a healthy man has a "thing" for attractive women -- basic biological imperatives at work. What's surprising is the context of Col. Quack's preoccupations. Muslim culture assigns the woman a submissive role; her task is to serve the man whose property she is -- his material needs of the home, his sexual needs, and ultimately the needs of his bloodline. Qaddafi, however often he pays lip service to Islamic conventionalities, likes to drape his women in the outward trappings of power: scarlet barets, combat boots, camouflage battledress, AKM rifles slung from the shoulder. Mouammar likes his dominatrices.

Underneath that apricot burnoose I suspect he wears a patent leather slave harness.

Quaestor म्हणाले...

What set Colonel Q's pulse a-racing.

Condi: You're a naughty boy, Mouammar. You deserve a spanking...

Qaddafi: Oh, pleeezze, Mistress. I kiss your boots!

Maybe Bashar al-Assad has a scrapbook of Madeleine Albright.

Maybe not.

Chip S. म्हणाले...

I'm surprised that people haven't speculated more about the power of women like that in world politics. I think Palin could mesmerize a good number of caudillos.

Blair म्हणाले...

It's weird that he says Condi is a woman "of African origin". If that is the case, then Gaddhafi, as an Arab, is a man of "non African origin". But then nothing he says makes sense anyway.

Joanna म्हणाले...

Wasn't this a 30 Rock episode?

William म्हणाले...

No, not a problem that Madeline and Hillary ever faced in their dealings with him.
