Sarah Palin will appear at the Madison Tea Party rally this Saturday.

Well... that ought to bulk up the crowd... with all sorts of characters!

Be cool to see New Media Meade interview her.

I'm very curious to see and hear the reaction she receives. It could be very trying for the Madison crowd.

wv = "flabia" as in, Wow! those are some real flabia majora!

It's easy when your opponents are pansies.

Brent म्हणाले...

Just wanted to say that I just had the opportunity to speak with Andrew Breitbart after he finished appearing on the Michael Medved Show. Andrew said that. He cosidered Althouse to be the best blog out today, and it's commenters the most balanced and intelligent of any blig.

Cool.

Econophile म्हणाले...

In the comments, "JEP" suggests:

...and keep raising the volume, ....just drown her out... every time they turn up her mic, get louder and angrier, until she has to humbly (NOT!!) walk off stage...

It's unfortunate Mr. JEP, who I'm afraid probably echoes the reaction of many who were on the Square last month, doesn't seem to appreciate debate or letting others have their voice.

Sort of like how the only outcomes that fit their kindergarten view of democracy are the ones in which they win.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

This may be her campaign kickoff, since the Donald has been lapping the field while she has been fishing and hunting up in Alaska.

PaulV म्हणाले...

what are odds on a violent counter demonstration? Over/under on crowd size?

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

I do try to get to the opening Farmers' Market each year (Fresh Cheese Curds! Grape Juice! The first (overwintered) Spinach!), so maybe I'll be up there, but the forecast isn't promising nice weather. And her appearance would likely be later than I'd want to stay anyway. Don't like fighting the strollers and wagons that proliferate after 9.

Saturday afternoon is garden work time. I'll be planting onions! The lettuce and spinach have sprouted, finally.

Meade म्हणाले...

"Will Meade be taking pictures?"

You betcha! And so will Mrs. New Media.

Beta Rube म्हणाले...

I can't wait. I've never been to a political event in my life, but I am not going to miss this one.

John म्हणाले...

With all the political friction that is likely to ensue, Madison will probably combust.

Unknown म्हणाले...

During the '08 campaign, 30,000 people came to see Miss Sarah in FL. She is still that greatly admired.

And it drives the Lefties nuts.

Sarah Palin is probably the most beautiful woman in public life today* (with, of course, the exception of Mrs. New Media), so the pics, taken on a Spring day, should be gorgeous.

*I know, Nikki Haley, Kristi Noem, Michelle Bachmann, etc., are tough competition, but Miss Sarah just radiates these days.

You said it, MadisonMan. I consider a good morning at the DCFM to be when stroller-ankle contact is <20 occurrences :)

Would you mind explaining this comment on your post?

"... with all sorts of characters!"

अनामित म्हणाले...

I'm sure that New Meadeia will capture plenty of pictures and video to showcase the civility of Madisons lefties.

This will be entertaining and telling.

Original Mike म्हणाले...

William म्हणाले...

Sarah Palin is fearless.

Whether one agrees with her or not, she has the moxy and leadership that is painfully lacking in the current administration

Wisconsin just got a huge boner. Washington Island is now part of Canada.

Sarah Palin will be a distraction.

Sigivald म्हणाले...

edutcher: If you limit that to "in American politics" you might well be right, especially if it's major figures.

Worldwide, not so much.

Carla Bruni is tough competition.

What happened to Michigan in all that excitement?

chickelit म्हणाले...

Sarah Palin will be a distraction.

For whom?

garage mahal म्हणाले...

I'm sure that screechy nails on chalkboard voice of Plain will sound even better through the Capitol PA system. Bet there will some good signage though.

अनामित म्हणाले...

"I'm sure that screechy nails on chalkboard voice of Plain will sound even better through the Capitol PA "

Come on, admit it Garage.

You want Sarah Palin to strap on a huge fucking dildo and punish you right up the ass while screeching at you with her fingernail voice.

You can tell us, dude.

We're all friends here.

अनामित म्हणाले...

"What happened to Michigan in all that excitement?

There was some splash back ... but they were good with it.

Lot of them there bukkake fans up in Michagain and again and again and again.

GulfofMexico म्हणाले...

A Republican win in the U.S. House and Senate in 2012 means Palin loses (assuming she runs). She won't be trusted by the electorate with both houses under Republican control. The electorate will choose complete Republican congressional control over Palin and a Republican House.

अनामित म्हणाले...

I'm banking on your predictions, garbage.

It seems like only yesterday that you assured us that the voters of WI were furious with Gov. Walker and that the judicial election would demonstrate that in spades.

अनामित म्हणाले...

"The electorate will choose complete Republican congressional control over Palin and a Republican House."

And it won't change anything.

Obama is destroying the country by overspending $1.65 trillion and yet, Republicans want to "cut" $38 billion.

What, really, is the difference between Barack Obama and Republicans except he has a better tan?

Barack Obama and the Democrats are willing to shut the government down if they don't get their way.

Republicans don't have the balls to do that.

Democrats are WINNERS.

Republicans are LOSERS.

Do you want to be a winner? Or a loser?

अनामित म्हणाले...

"It seems like only yesterday that you assured us that the voters of WI were furious with Gov. Walker and that the judicial election would demonstrate that in spades."

Kleptoberg won, but the election was stolen from her by Republican "operatives." Just like Gore.

(Figured I'd go ahead and beat the pussy to the punch.)

Actually I predicted Kloppenburg/Prosser would be a close race, on the day of the election. Memory is the first thing to go.

Dustin म्हणाले...

"I predicted Kloppenburg/Prosser would be a close race,"

It wasn't really that close, though. Not a landslide, but the margin is substantial enough that it's clear WI prefers judges to unions (yes, that's what the election was about.

She's going to a Tea Party rally, not a Republican fundraiser. If the Republicans gain a majority in the Senate, it won't be a Tea Party majority. Her own party would put the brakes on her.

But the days of whines and poses would be over for the far left.

Someone dust off the 1984 coverage of Geradine Ferraro speaking at the State Capitol (facing E. Washington Avenue, I recall) the day after the Democratic Party convention in SF. Something tells me that if Palin draws 2x the crowd, she'll get 1/4 the credit in the local press (sic).

coketown म्हणाले...

Stupid Sarah Palin! She's yesterday's news. Totally ineffectual. Of no consequence to anything anymore. A tired, worn out has-been. And so dumb! The scum of the earth, to be sure. Oh I simply must go and protest and express exactly how I feel! I need people to know that she means nothing to me! Dust on my feet. *spit*

Yes, Governor Palen in Madison will be like the reception those African-Americans received in Little Rock Central High School.

Sarah Who?

Everybody might as well stay home.

carrie म्हणाले...

The pro-Walker supporters did not interfere with the pro-union supporters' rallies and protests earlier this year and I would hope that the pro-union supporters would show similar respect for the Tea Party and not interfere with the its rally on Saturday. If the Democrats want to win back the votes of the independents who voted for Walker, shouting down Sarah Palin is not the way to do it.

Madison welcomes the outside agitators (we must be doing something right to attract this kind of attention). Enjoy your stay!

Rick म्हणाले...

My wife and I drove 300 miles each way this time last year to see Sarah Palin in Searchlight, Nevada, and it was worth every mile. You can feel her charisma in the air as the crowd reacts to her presence and then her speech. I highly recommend attending for those agonizing about next year's Republican nominee.
