If you care to read details, go here. It's nothing, and I won't be distracted by it.

Now back to the chaotic mob.....
On its face, this rule would seem not to require even a 2-hour notice, just posting on the bulletin board, which is how the Clerk interprets it. This is consistent with the emphasis on speed implicit in several parts of Rule 93.
"Live by one's own self-imposed exile from day-to-day activities at the State Capitol... die by one's own self-imposed exile from day-to-day activities at the State Capitol."
Heh.
"But we couldn't read it on the bulletin board - we were in Illinois!!!"
Bwaaaaahahahahahahaha
The "open meeting" nonsense.
I'm going to go out an a limb here and predict more accusations of illegality when the assembly passes the bill.
It's funny that the Democrats are now being such sticklers when it comes to legislative rules.
Ya but watch these idiots win it in the Courts.
Mark Miller and his 13 mob ginners were calling this Pearl Harbor! but he left his wife behind last night to try and appeal to the protestors to leave the Capitol building last night.
They aren't going to be held responsible for the mob by the Courts.
Thanks for the links!
Here she is making some appeal to the mob and bringing up Japanese Internment camps-whatever:
Madison - Jo Oyama-Miller, wife of state Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller (D-Monona), pleaded for several hundred demonstrators to leave the ante-chamber of the state Assembly Wednesday night.
"If we can evacuate we can win this battle," she said. "We wont if we break the law."
Oyama-Miller, who is of Japanese descent, said her parents went peacefully to internment camps during World War II.
"They took the high road," she told the protesters as she urged them to do the same.
Bruce Colburn, a vice president with the Service Employees International Union, asked people to also take the high road.
"I think people are going to make their point, stand their ground," he said. "We'll be respectful. People have fought hard but always with non-violence."

So the damn circle is complete you have one of the Badger 14 calling this-
Pearl Harbor!
and you have Mark Miller's (-the Senate Minority Leader) wife invoking the Japanese Internment camps.
Gawd.
Mark Miller and his 13 mob ginners were calling this Pearl Harbor! but he left his wife behind last night to try and appeal to the protestors to leave the Capitol building last night.
It was ok, though - The Mayor of Madison was in there with the protesters. He'll protect her.
They talk about open records, because they want to distract you from this:

It's nothing, and I won't be distracted by it.
Shocking! I was expecting a link to jammiewearing fool, or better yet, Andrew Breitbart. You're such a hack.
But again no one is going to hold them responsible and they might win it in the Courts.
Common sense isn't going to apply.
*****
Cripes the mayor of Madison from 1973?
Unfortunately, the Republican senators left themselves wide open to this spin by the Democrats and the media. They needed to make sure they not only observed the letter of the law but also controlled the message, and they failed to do that.
Open records? We don need no stinking open records!
But Garage Mahal said it was a violation of the law.... LOL.
@rocketeer
Welcome to the 'new civility', a plan promoted by the left, that applies only to non-lefties in an effort to silence (horrors!) their opposition.
wv - dishie
A short but good note. Not sure if I agree with your conclusion, but thanks for sharing.
So Ann is NOT going to be distracted by the law, although she teaches law?
Now I know what is wrong with Wisconsin.
wordsmith 2
I'm inclined to agree with you-but given the Liberal media I doubt they really could control the message.
I was talking to an old Republican campaigner in Cali-his opinion was to just rip it off like a band aid.
The mob would frenzy for awhile and they would get more media attention in the short term but that would last no longer than three days.
We'll see. He's almost always right-it's really annoying! ;-)
"her parents went peacefully to internment camps during World War II."
Instituted by Democratic leaders.
Curious. She's still going peacefully to the internment camps being put on by such leaders.
She's being herded, but doesn't even realize it.
So Ann is NOT going to be distracted by the law, although she teaches law?
Good lord, you people are insufferably stupid. It’s already been firmly established that there was no violation. But as with everything else, since law and process does not lead to the conclusion you want, you just ignore it.
Soon you loons will be claiming the Scott Walker flew remote-controlled airliners into the open records laws.
I submit it is typical leftist disinformation.
Rachael Maddow did it to us in Michigan the night before last-to you last night-
rise up against the (false) injustice!
From Gateway Pundit:
Madison.com reported:
Hundreds of students at multiple Madison middle and high schools were reportedly walking out of class Thursday to participate in protests at the State Capitol.
As many as 800 to 1,000 West High School students were gathering for a march to the Capitol around 10 a.m., senior Jacob Fiksel said.
Fiksel said “tensions are really high.”
“People are really upset that the Republican senators passed this bill illegally — they did not give 24 hours notice,” Fiksel said. “We feel like it’s a slap in the face.”
One report says 3/4′s of the school walked out.
Nice work, leftist teachers.
Suspend them now.
Another report— Mayor of Madison Dave Cieslewicz leading wildcat strike of public workers, marching with them to Capitol right now.
Do Senate rules apply to joint committees? WisFOIC's Bill Lueders issued a release this morning that says "Senate Chief Clerk, Robert Marchant, has advanced the argument that the notice was sufficient under Senate Rule 93, which holds that the Senate can convene in special session without giving advanced notice. Others have pointed out that this rule pertains to the Senate, whereas last night's meeting was a Joint Committee of Conference, a.k.a. Joint Conference Committee. They say Rule 93 would not apply in such a case."
It’s already been firmly established that there was no violation.
I don't think it's firmly established. You can certainly interpret the law and rules to do what the Senate did -- I'm sure they discussed this beforehand. Whether or not a DA and judge will agree is a different question.

The *logic* is circular-but then that might be too complimentary.
As long as we're talking about the Open Meetings law, doesn't the meetings the Democrats were having in order to discuss legislation (although in another state) fall under the OM law, and if so, are they in violation of it due to their lack of keeping minutes and such? And if so, could this be used in impeachment and recall procedures against these Fleebagger Dems?
Hundreds of students at multiple Madison middle and high schools were reportedly walking out of class Thursday to participate in protests at the State Capitol.
I've only heard of East and West high students going. You can walk to the Capitol from those two schools. VHMS also has some students walking out. That's a bit of a hike.
The West kids didn't look very tense as I drove past them on my way home.
I finally figured out the attraction the Left has to the Capitol building...the dome resembles the nipple of the Public Teat they have been suckling on their entire working lives. Mewling and bawling as it is slowly removed from their mouths, the cameras roll.
We'll save this footage and show it to them when they grow up, embarrassing them in front of their friends, like adults so often do. But it will be good for them.
As I've told Sherlock when his treat is swiped by one of the other dogs while he stands there looking at it, "You snooze, you lose".
Meygn Kelly is interviewing Jesse Jackson on Fox now. Jackson is saying that the Democrats were denied a vote last night (although the Dems were in Illinois, not Madison) and that the protests are going to "escalate".
Jackson says that Walker is going to close many schools in Wisconsin. What a liar and the Wisconsin protesters back this slug?
Jackson says "the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer." Does that include the teachers in Wisconsin?
Someone needs to ask Jackson how much he is worth.
Oh, we're interning the hippies now?
Good.
But Garage Mahal said it was a violation of the law.... LOL.
That noted legal authority! ;)
Well, well, well..........it seems that Jesse Jackson is just about as wealthy as Michael Moore-on (who sends his kids to a private [non-union] school and refuses to hire union labor when making his movies).
Both are worth an estimated $10 million. Can we start redistributing their wealth?
Basically I think they were mind tricked by Sky Walker into internin' themselves.
Somethin' like that.

Dude! You need to get away from the internet and dial it back a little. This isn't you. You are better than this.
The hardest thing in life is to lose especially if you really believe in something as much as you believe in letting the unions rape the taxpayers. But there will be another election soon and if as you say all of Wisconsin wants loads of new taxes to pay the gold plated benefits of people working nine months a year it will be no problem to turn out of office these rascally republicans.
Take a lesson from those poor Rutgers kids who got jobbed by the refs in the Big East Tournament. Tomorrow is another day. There will be another election. This is not the end of the world. You need to step back and get a little perspective.
Check out American Idol tonight. Or Jersey Shore. Polish you BMW's. Play you’re your kids. Have a snort and listen to a spring training game. Life is too short buddy.
I am worried for you.
Your pal,
Trooper York
Do any of you guys remember when Mark Miller's daughter, Chandra Miller Fienen, practiced law without a license? She actually worked as Jim Doyle's general counsel until Mark Belling exposed that she didn't have a law license on his radio show.
The Civil Disobedience taking place at the capitol has a long and honorable tradition in our country.
Althouse's attempt to slant it as a "mob" and "Anarchy" . . . shades of Richard M. Nixon.
Professor Althouse, you've lost perspective, and credibility.
garage - wah wah wah wah MOMMY!!!!!
chris - do you also want your MOMMY????
Trooper, garage doesn't think he lost. He thinks they're winning. In fact, he thinks they've won already.
He seriously thinks this. It's not a pose. So he's going to act like a victor.
Re" Foust whereas last night's meeting was a Joint Committee of Conference
The entire Senate was convened for the vote. 19 (a quorum) showed up and voted. I don't see how that's a Joint Committee. Sounds EXACTLY like a special session. I do see however that Rob Marchant calls it a conference committee, so maybe we'd need to see what the text of the actual posted notice said?
Calypso, the controversy is about a 4 p.m. committee meeting.
I know what you mean Martin. Sometimes people can't accept the fact that they lost. I still listen to Red Sox fans who tell me that their team was always better and that Bucky Dent cheated and what not.
But you see there is always another game. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. You have to know how to lose with dignity and sow the seeds of a future victory.
It is pretty amusing that the college kids at Rutgers can handle it better when they got robbed than supposed adults who lost the last election.
I mean I know I tease you guys about Wisconsin and all but I used to think it sounded like a pretty nice place.
After the last few weeks...not so much.
And I live in Brooklyn just ten blocks away from the projects where they murder innocent hamsters.
Just sayn'
Calypso, the controversy is about a 4 p.m. committee meeting.
Actually, it was a 6 pm meeting.
@Chris
"The Civil Disobedience taking place at the capitol has a long and honorable tradition in our country."
Well, it has been going on long enough. Again, this is SOOOO played. Why don't you encourage your 'others' to give it up, go on home, and learn to accept that you're no better than your non-union neighbors, and no, you don't have a RIGHT to collectively bargain.
@EDH Thanks for the correction. Fixed.
Why don't you encourage your 'others' to give it up, go on home, and learn to accept that you're no better than your non-union neighbors, and no, you don't have a RIGHT to collectively bargain.
No doubt a liberal WI judge is already writing his injunction.
Sorry - yes, roughly 4:06 p.m. notice of a 6 p.m. meeting of the committee, just before the Senate vote.
innocent
No sir. The hamster had it coming. You should ask, "Who started it?"
"After the last few weeks...not so much."
Althosue lives in a hell-hole. Just read her blog, she'll tell you all about it. Thankful, for her con readers, Althouse is there to crap on her neighbors.
BTW, when Althosue was talking (a while back) about the "house conservatives," was it the libs in the proverbial house or the cons outside the house who were the so-called "master" in that relationship?
One things is for sure, Althouse has been shoveling out the steak tartare, where her community (and so-called house) is the main ingredient.
pbJ - these thugs are not Althouse's neighbors. Even if they are - pointing out their thuggery is a virtue. I would do the same if my neighbors were thugs.
John Foust, did you click the link in the Professor's post? Did you read the post there? It is about exactly what you're asking, so I have to wonder if you read it.
Thankful, for her con readers, Althouse is there to crap on her neighbors.
There, there, little soldier. There, there.
Hey pbandj I live in New York. I was in New York in the sixties and seventies and eighties until Guliani time cleaned it up. I know hellholes. Wisconsin is not a hell hole.
But you guys are supposed to be nice Midwestern kind people who don't say shit even if you have a mouthful. It looks more like Berkely with dirty hippies and protests and girls that don't shave their pits. If you don't watch out victoria from Pasadena will be moving out there to start a collective. Just sayn'
pb&j - Is the rule "What happens in Madison stays in Madison"?
And Peter ironweightsironrails will be out there with a camera like "Dirty George" asking the coeds if they have an Oscar Gambel or a Sinead O'Conner.
Rep. Barca's complaint is now online.
So Rep. Barca's complaint is that he didn't check his email until 4:20, and that he wasn't in the building to check the bulleting board.
Again, John Foust, did you read the Professor's link?
Maybe Rep. Barca should report back to the ludus for training. Jupiter's Cock!
Rep. Barca's complaint is now online.
Just finished reading it. Oddly enough, he actually included all the Senate Rules for special sessions and such that pretty much go against exactly what he is alleging. Cool.
Some commentators have suggested that the conference committee was a joint conference committee, involving Assembly members as well Senators. Yet the Assembly has the same language in its own Rule 93 (requiring only posting on the bulletin board), so I don't see how that alone would change things.
I'd have to say that the legislature could do a better job of informing people of exactly what was done and under what legal authority.
