Meade got into the Capitol for the Governor's speech and, afterward, shot this video...

... which I edited:

0:00 — in the Assembly chamber
0:37 — in the rotunda, a Democratic legislator slips on a pile of peace signs
1:14 — a woman has a dog in the Capitol, and the vibration is freaking her out
2:12 — our Assemblyman Brett Hulsey calls it the "Budget Despair Bill"
2:35 — "Oh, oh, freedom..."
3:16 — "Which door do I go out if I don't want to be replaced?"
4:06 — "Is there a door I can go out where someone else won't come in because I went out?"
4:35 — boombox duct taped to a stand made of cross-country skis
5:06 — Meade inquires about a child labeled "planted troublemaker"
5:21 — folkie guy plays "When the Ship Comes In"
6:26 — the folkie switches to rap
7:50 — "I'll be growin' food with all my friends and we'll be livin' on a big farm somewhere."

So, is Madison the modern day version of Woodstock?

What a bunch of maroons!

Proof that, yes, God really does have a sense of humor. ;)

So...are we supposed to consider the Meadia to be some version of fair and balanced, or cruel neutrality?

Or, can we now acknowledge that his con-lib/lib-con shtick boils down to con-POV-w/-plenty-of-con-hackery? [As if his hackery wasn't already crushingly obvious, e.g. when he noted that he dreams of being a freed man, presumably by removing the slave master's (BHO's?) shackles.]

At some point, the analogy to this whole thing becomes a karaoke bar where it's closing time and there are no more drinks and all the good-looking people went home. When do you pull the plug on the people on the people who showed up to hear themselves sing and sing, and just won't leave?

Rumor is, Tim Cullen (D) is back in Madison. Over soon? Praying for peace.

Thanks for all the hard work and interesting content, ANN and Meade.

The best Meade video yet. Very mellow and catches a moment and mood in time. That Christopher kid was a sweetie.

The Abercrombie & Fitch chick says "Yeah, it's my service dog".
I wonder what service it provides.

Wow. How time flies and/or counter-culture wastes away. Those who attended Woodstock (or wanted to) thought of themselves as the height of modernity and coolness (this was back when technology was evil military stuff like fighters and ICBMs and stuff) Now they're just relics of a bygone era, like tie-dyed buggy whips.

The poetry kid - he has no idea what it means to grow your own food. None whatsoever. But it's a nice thought.

Service dogs should not be petted!

I saw one being trained once, while shopping at Nordstrom's. And, I was told not to pet the dog. The dog is a WORKING dog! And, yes. Is trained to be at malls. And, noisy places. Since it is used to aid people in getting around.

Meanwhile, the beautiful Capitol building is FAILING the test! Too much echo! Who would want to work in this building!

When will the students "fade away?" Spring break is coming! You'll see an exodus at that time.

I chatted with over two dozen law enforcement officers today. Every last one wants the plug pulled. Mainly so that they can pull the plugs out of their own ears and go home to the counties and towns they live in where there is peace and quiet and sweet fresh Wisconsin air to breath.

Meade (or anyone with an answer) -- How is it that the protesters want simultaneously to protest perpetually but, according to a post of yours in the above thread, not to be recorded by cameras?

What is the point? Seriously. Help me understand. What am I missing?

Cameras == Evidence, maybe? Whether it's job-related, or something more ominous, I won't venture to guess.

"Service dogs should not be petted!"

Meade asked if he could pet it. She said yes. Do the math? Was it a service dog?

Yikes
Stuff of nightmares. But they were polite.

One presumes none of these people actually hold down a job, which provides the corollary to the old wheeze, "There's no such thing as a poor, white Liberal".

But there are, however, plenty of poor, white radicals.

The Dem Legislator who slipped looks like Fred Kessler of Milwaukee. Kessler, called "Red Fred" is a former judge and really has his sights set on trying to kill the Milwaukee School Choice Program.

Bonniegee म्हणाले...

Latest report is the Tim Cullen rumor is NOT true. He is quoted as saying that when (at least I hope he said when and not if) they return they will all return. One Dem would not want to be in that position by himself. This is serious business for the unions and socialists.

अनामित म्हणाले...

VERY revealing. Did you notice in his rap that they were going to take control like "Hitler burnin' synagogues"?

Well, isn't that special.

hegemony

No, that's not it. The word I was thinking of was
cacaphony

I really want to say that video embodies this:

I HEAR America singing, the varied carols I hear;
Those of mechanics—each one singing his, as it should be, blithe and strong;
The carpenter singing his, as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his, as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work;
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat—the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck; 5
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench—the hatter singing as he stands;
The wood-cutter’s song—the ploughboy’s, on his way in the morning, or at the noon intermission, or at sundown;
The delicious singing of the mother—or of the young wife at work—or of the girl sewing or washing—Each singing what belongs to her, and to none else;
The day what belongs to the day—At night, the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
Singing, with open mouths, their strong melodious songs.

but I just can't say it; its just cacaphony
