Jesus Christ/I am a Democrat"

Coming from the "separation of church and state" crowd no less!

I love watching the modern left use religion to further their statist agenda...

What a bunch of fucking children.

Henry म्हणाले...

Vorwarts? Vorwarts.

Real American म्हणाले...

Time to end public education as we know it and use private contractors for the work instead. These "teachers" are really just children and should not be anywhere near actual children.

This guest book is a national treasure. It must be placed in the Smithsonian.

Power to the People!!

mishu म्हणाले...

Hey, maybe the Smithsonian would like these pages to this guest book.

Carol_Herman म्हणाले...

Again, Meade takes excellent pictures! And, what an eye for detail. How many of us even think of looking at a "guest book" page?

I almost want to add the word "quaint."

I'm so glad things are coming back to normal.

mishu म्हणाले...

ALH beat me to it. D'oh!

Meade म्हणाले...

AA took all the photos in this series.

I keep wondering why Annie Laurie Gaylor isn't down at the capitol making sure that Jesse Jackson isn't leading imprecatory prayers against Scott Walker.

Shanna म्हणाले...

"No train, no gain"...

It's garage!

Drew म्हणाले...

So they're still demonstrating for the train, then?

Irene म्हणाले...

Death panels, too!

Revenant म्हणाले...

It is amazing how self-involved these people are.

Jackson is neither a government official nor operating under government sanction. I wouldn't expect the FFRF to protest his prayers.

Strong, hard, & dedicated teacher/How long will I work in Wisconsin?

Is that a political statement or a personal ad?

lawyapalooza म्हणाले...

Step outside right now and take a picture of the hundreds of peaceful protesters following a sign celebrating the fact that the Madison School District used the collective bargaining process to ratify their contract last night. With the teachers agreeing to massive financial concessions. Thos egreedy bastards. Oh, you say ALL of the unions agreed to ALL of the financial concessions? Those greedy bastards.

Tell the truth.

Sigivald म्हणाले...

If I didn't have long experience with people who "think" like this, I'd almost consider the possibility that this was some elaborate setup.

But I know that some people actually think that sort of thing is appropriate/useful/funny/effective.

(And I also know better than to think any political party would make such a setup, as it's too subtle...)

lawya: I'd care that they "agreed to the concessions" if they'd done it, well, a few weeks ago.

Now they can basically go to hell.

lemondog म्हणाले...

Vorwarts? Vorwarts.

Wisconsin state motto is Forward

Unknown म्हणाले...

If they equate Walker with Adolf, aren't they worried Scott's going to tell his Heinrich and Reinhard to look in the guest book and send all the names with nasty comments to Maidanek-on-Mendota?

Idiots.

Revenant म्हणाले...

"Massive financial concessions" = "you can give us slightly smaller raises, but only for the next two years".

lawyapalooza म्हणाले...

"lawya: I'd care that they "agreed to the concessions" if they'd done it, well, a few weeks ago."

Are you fucking kidding me? They agreed to this BEFORE the walkout!! For Christ's sake, do a little research! So now, do you care? What excuse will you pull out now after finding out that all of the unions offered all of the financial concessions requested by Walker. You are absolutely maddeining in your willingness to ignore what is really happening.

OK. Give it to me. You now know (if you spent even 5 minutes reading something other than Althouse) that they offered every financial concession. Your response...

lawyapalooza म्हणाले...

Revenant,

You are flat wrong. The contract freezes wages at 2009 levels. It gives the district unfettered right to increase of decrease wages in year 2. It requires teachers to contribute 100% of their cost for retirement. It allows the district to increase teh teachers' contributions for health insurance.

Once again, you have done zero research into the facts before you posted.

Fen म्हणाले...

OK. Give it to me. You now know (if you spent even 5 minutes reading something other than Althouse) that they offered every financial concession. Your response...

See, it doesn't work that way. You are trying to prove they offered financial concessions before the walkout, you need to provide evidence that they did.

All we have so far is the word of two union leaders not authorized to negotiate on what they claim they were willing to accept.

You want to get snarky about the facts, provide some.

Brian Brown म्हणाले...

The contract freezes wages at 2009 levels

Meaning they're still over-paid.

bagoh20 म्हणाले...

Paying what the state did in 2009 is what got it in the red in the first place. When such thing happens in the private sector (those paying for the public employees) people get laid off, get pay cuts, get hours reduced, and take on more work and responsibility.

So lawya, they simply agreed to continue being treated special and better than the people they serve. In the private sector they wouldn't usually even be asked what they would agree to - they would be told.

Methadras म्हणाले...

"No train, no gain"

Yup, Garage McDingle was there.
