At the Morning Snow Café...
... come on in and sit down...
... everything is all fluffy right now. But the big clumps, accumulating, are starting to drop off, and this prettiness can't last too long, which makes it especially pretty in that evanescent way.

Fluffy but heavy. At least my back reported that to be so.
Lousy Smarch weather!
Are you making hot cocoa? And pancakes? We'll all be over!

Living in upstate New York, I'm officially bored with snow.
WV: Hotariti - a cheap fortified wine flavored with hot sauce.
Perfect snow man making snow.
Is anyone interested in a poll on how Governor Walker is doing? Want to weigh in?
Go here.

Ah, the story of my life.
Any recommendations for hotel and restaurant for May when we are coming in for Les Mis? Nice hotel - close to Overture. Thanks
It was a dreadful morning until I noticed Mr. and Mrs Cardinal at my feeder. They looked quite beautiful against the newly fallen snow.

Just like my President drawings!
Bob, I would eat at either the Old Fashioned, or at L'Etoile. The latter is pricey, the former, modestly so. That's for dinner. For breakfast, Marigold Kitchen on S. Pinckney, just off the square.
There are hotels around the Square, a Hilton and a Best Western. Easy walk from there to Overture. Probably nothing special, but serviceable hotels.
Not a fan of the snow, by the way. I meant to come to work early. Shoveled for 90 minutes instead.
Good thing my yard is covered with fallen pear blossoms rather than snow - no shoveling involved.
Me too!! Actually, we're all griping because it's not 70 degrees anymore (I think it'll be 66 on Friday though).
I figured that Charlie Sheen was going Peter Sellers. He was going to hump, and drug his way to eternity....or sumthin'.
I was wrong.
I watched Charlie Sheen's latest video. He's just bat-shit crazy, and he has an army of enablers.
By the way......Peter Sellers was christened Richard Henry Sellers. Why didn't he just call himself Dick?
Bob, I also would add Tornado Steakhouse, Harvest, Capitol Chophouse, Blue Marlin, and Restaurant Murimoto to the list.
Not to flood you with choices, Bob, but I'd add Graze as a unique option somewhere between MadMan's good recommendations, and I'd also second Irene's picks of Tornado (steak) or Muramoto (sushi).
If you want to get away from the chain hotels, a couple options would be the Concourse Hotel (upscale-ish, 2 blocks from Overture) or the Mansion on the Hill B&B, if that's your kind of thing (6 blocks).
Showers here. Hopefully the temp stays up.
OK, you two, you're still getting over whatever Commie virus you had.
No marathon ski jaunts. Just look out the window and sigh at how pretty it is.

Ditto for NE OH.
I always thought that John Candy was a stage name. I figured that it was a reference to a Baby Ruth candy bar floating in a swimming pool.
Nope!! He was christened John Candy. How cruel. What were his parents thinking??
NPR has become Schiller-less
NPR chief executive quits over hidden camera video
NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller resigned Wednesday in the wake of comments by a fellow executive that angered conservatives and renewed calls to end federal funding for public broadcasting.
Very pretty, and best appreciated from a distance of a thousand miles or so.
Oh, YES to the Tornado Room if you want steak. Yum.
Another Currier and Ives day in Madison. Thanks for sharing.
Rain here in Buffalo, too...just dirty snow and puddles right now. Not as nice as your deck.
I see the white poodle in the picture. Or at least I think I see it.
