Perfect ice boating surface. Find a friend with the gear, Professor. You and Meade will love it.

Also a cool video.

Meade hunts her down (again.)

Proper operation of the nose in wind.

Doberman instructional video.

Take an umbrella next time, as any boy would.

Quite a little breeze out there. I could only think of your poor, frozen cheeks (no pun). Glad to see you and Meade have found another way to spend time together.

I, OTOH, could never do it. I tried something slightly similar in Cancun and almost got myself killed. So, I readily acknowledge my limitations.

PS Kudos to Meade on the skating-camerawork combo. I couldn't think what the sequence of him catching up to you reminded me of, and then it hit me, Simon Legree pursuing Liza.

Fitting since, of course, you are his love slave.

Actually, I was hot. I overdressed out of fear of cold. The wind made my face a little raw and also made it easy to get across the lake but hard to get back. I got a bit tired because of that and that's the main reason I fell. Tomorrow I won't fall. Not 4 times any way.

My wife hit her head in a fall while ice skating and was concussed pretty badly. She made the classic mistake of windmilling her arms and leaning back when she felt herself losing her balance. Her feet went out from under her and her head slammed the ice. Blood. The head bleeds very freely.

Bend knees and keep weight over the skates. Fall forward if you must.

Be careful.

Awesome, looks like you can skate for miles. Ice looks really smooth. Where are all the ice fishermen/tip-ups???

It is awfully lonely down there, when you look up and all you can see is the faint circle of daylight at the hole you came through.

I'm also surprised there weren't more ice boaters out on the lake. For a long time, ice boats were the only way to go really really fast.

I suspect ice skating in Cancun is probably kinda difficult.
