I agree.

Christie is the real deal...pure Jersey, straight talking, in your face, says it to your face, not behind your back. Having grown up back East, I like him. I think Midwesterners and Southerners, w/ their faux niceness, would have a problem w/ Christie. Although Cheeseheads would like his girth.

John Boehner gets Honorable mention as a conservative? And Mitch Daniels is ignored?

I like those three, and now that Obama has smashed the qualification requirement, they are all immensely qualified too.

I don't know about Rubio, but I think both Palin and Christie would eliminate the current perception among our allies and enemies that we are led by sissies.

Living here in NJ, it's hard to believe (in a good way) that Christie is my Governor. I'm also represented by Scott Garrett.

Ah, if it wasn't for Menendez and the Laut .... ah well.

Good choices

Yet another slap in the face to our Sarah :(

I give up. Why has the government media not run any attack pieces against Christie? Is he easy to beat up later and they are awaiting the moment? Or is he a plastic image with no family and no faults? Hmmm.

John म्हणाले...

Just FYI, it's "Marco Rubio."

I'm sorry, but "faux niceness?" Our Midwestern niceness is genuine--it only seems fake to East-coast types who wouldn't know niceness if it said "Good morning" every day, baked them a pie, and mowed their lawn for them while they're on vacation.

Mostly good choices here.

4) Andrew Breitbart
5) Allen West
5) Jim DeMint
7) Paul Ryan

A lot of people like West as a soldier and man of integrity. DeMint (along with the more media-shy Coburn) has led the freedom fighters the last 8 years or so. Brietbart, of course, broke ACORN, so some good people.

As for the runner-ups:
Dick Armey (anybody who makes Cedar crazy can't be all bad)

Michele Bachmann, Jan Brewer, and Haley Barbour are all good VP material.

Scott Brown got his props for taking away the Kennedys' Senate seat.

Pamela Geller has done yeoman work fighting the Ground Zero Mosque (and all the Little Chamberlains who love the Moooslims).

Karl Rove was a lot more loved before he became the RINOs' mouthpiece.

As for John Boehner, he was the Republicans' point guy (McConnell was hiding someplace) during the black days of '09 and, frankly, I had a feeling he'd get a little love simply for standing up and fighting the good fight.

Christie and Palin are both the real deal. Rubio may also be the real deal but he hasn't been tested yet.

As a resident of the deep and sweet sunny south I can say that Christie is an excellent choice. As to "faux niceness" you can stick that up your stupid yankee ass because our niceness is as real as our recognition of uppity jersey turds who have the temerity to look down their noses at their betters in the south and midwest. Faux that shithead.

For the time being, Christie is a breath of fresh air. His strong points are his bluntness and combativeness in holding the fiscal line. I think many of us have had our eyes opened to how expensive compassionate conservatism and progressivism are. I live in the South and I don't believe it needs to be condescended to with namby pamby niceness.

"Christie is the real deal...pure Jersey, straight talking, in your face"

There's a difference between "straight talking" and "in your face." Straight talking is desirable when we are talking about important issues. "In you face" is a rude indulgence.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sounds about right - he exemplifies the ideals and carries the least baggage. I showed my collection of Christie Porn to my moderate Democrat roommate one day and he was impressed, saying, "That guy speaks good!"

The kid's going places.

Well that Justice IG report was the first pass on the matter, his dismissive stand on the opponents
of the GZ Mosque, support for cap n trade, now revealed to be a Ponzi scheme, should have counted against
him.

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Christie is not running for President for the same reason Mario Coumo didn't.

As Florida speaker, Rubio was hardly a paragon of conservative virtue. He grubbed a troubling kick-back, no-compete, set-aside job for himself at a public college (no different from Michelle Obama's hospital community relations gig) and surrounded himself with notoriously corrupt Republican peers who ended up in serious trouble for stealing taxpayer dollars in flagrant earmark schemes. Shameful stuff, and Republicans in Florida know it. We'll be paying off cronied nonsense Rubio enabled for a long time.

His entire claim to fame seems to be a few speeches, his opposition to the increasingly ridiculous Charlie Crist, his Hispanic identity, an admirable family history, and the fact that he's photogenic.

In other words, he's the conservative version of Barack Obama.

I thought there wasn't supposed to be one. Oh well.

Larissa म्हणाले...

Christie's a lying piece of crap who's destroying my state.

Funny how people conveniently forget the lies, isn't it?
