It is a red state now. Or is that just the leftover communism peeking through.

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.

Mmmmmmm...the prompt to enlarge is appreciated. I'd have missed the teal in the hills otherwise, so lovely with the orange reds and pinks.

He can't seem to take his eyes off you, and you treat him with cruel neutrality.

Possibly both?

Unfortunately, can't see the video, but I can watch the Badgers mop the floor with Indiana. Ouch.

The earth's Soul shows through this dormant autumn landscape. But the Holy Days are soon upon us too. Roasted turkeys are first up, to be followed by gifts, grandchildren and parties with old friends.

Look out--he's clearly stalking you.

MamaM म्हणाले...

A stalk among the stalks.

She ponders the lakeness of a river, considering the colors in the scene before her, recording a composition; while he focuses on the mysterious work of inviting thoughts from the life form on the bench bin before him, considering her from all sides in moving picture.

Complementary, like the colors portrayed.

I remember the bleakness of autumnal northern vistas, somewhere deep within my bones. Not that I've seen them recently, mind you. The last time I saw a real fall was in West Berlin, when Reagan was still President. Pictures like this remind me of how atypical I am, living in Florida's almost-perpetual summer. You folks Up North are getting on towards winter, but we're right at the Goldilocks window of weather -- not too hot, not too cold, just right.

Nice vid. Needs more snarling Daushound.

I noticed a hole in the exhaust pipe of my truck and took it in to have that portion replaced. The muffler looked okay to me as did the rest of the exhaust. So it did perplex me how a single area could be corroded like that and not the rest. I chalked it up to the way the undercarriage is battered with road salts. It is not the sort of replacement I can do myself, the pipe must be welded so I took the truck to a garage that can weld. Upon closer inspection it turned out there was a tiny hole in the muffler and another nearly imperceptible crack along the length of another segment of pipe, not bad in all, but boded ill so I had the whole assembly replaced. Now my truck is newly fully empipenated and remufflerized. While there at the exhaust pipe welding garage place I noticed the screen saver on their computer is … wait for it … 3D Pipes. Hahaha, those guys kill me.

That's Hoosier dust. Badgers have had their way with them.

You can see the field-joining that motivates it.

Meade is an exceptional stalker. They are usually defined by their failure, but he is a successful one - also known as a husband.

When having a romantic moment in a scenic place, do you ever wonder if the same experience was enjoyed by another in-love couple, perhaps a hundred years earlier? Or maybe a Native American couple earlier, or even a prehistoric couple before that (followed by a club to the head and hair dragging home)?

The fact that men lose their hair is the origin of human patriarchal society. Women used to be as strong as men, and often dragged them home until the male baldness mutation changed everything. The stronger male physique developed as a result to facilitate the dragging by the hair ritual.

Taking your date to a spot with a beautiful view was developed to distract her while the club was deployed.

All the literature and song written by men about love is just more elaborate distraction to compensate for the weakening swing of the more modern man, which now days can barely stun the modern woman due to a thickening skull, which has also developed through evolution in response to the high failure rate of the early man getting her home without brain damage which would diminish her cave cleaning usefulness.

That's a fact.

rhhardin,

Saw that video of bike commute with shadow and made me think of Margaret Hamilton.

We've seen enough of Meade to know it's not true, but I still picture him as a weirdo stalker who does that ham radio stuff and walks around w/ a magnet machine looking for lost "treasures."

I don't know why I halfway, but not really, picture him as a geek (or, as Althouse would put it, "a dork").

Maybe it's because Althouse somewhat implied he can be nerdy about checking the weather, i.e. preparation is more important than complete spontaneity--that's a little nerdy, but others probably call it being prepared/wise. It takes all kinds.

In the Twin Cities, snowflakes fell and Autumn hues are covered in a thick, wet blanket of white.

Quite a few tree limbs down in the neighborhood. My Korean Lilacs were bent nearly flat to the ground, but did not break.

Heavy wet snow at my place. With my new steel roof, when the snow comes off, it comes off in large batches and makes a huge thud when it hits the ground.
