Mr. Irene and I traveled this weekend to our college reunion in Big City. We didn't miss the opportunity to do some Big City shopping. I admired a pair of pricey pumps. Big City Pumps with a big buckle and a sharp heel. When I turned the shoe over to check the cost, all I saw was the model name of the shoe: "Palin."
7 late night posts. You were wound last night. Celebrating the big game?
I guess Meade is turning you into a Badger now.

What a wonderful picture. At first glance, I thought the beauty berry bush was sharing the frame with some exotic plant dropping pink flowers in the fall. Hmmm, what could that be... esp. in WI? Then upon enlarging it, I saw that the willy-nilly mystery element was tree leaves. Beautiful composition.

Aldous Huxley experimented with LSD under a doctor’s supervision. And the total amount of LSD he took in all of his experiments amounted to less than most kids take for a single trip…
Son, if you want to expand your mind, pay a visit to your public library… You try the library boy. You’ll find the place full of magical cubes…they call them books.
So there, Keith Richards, Aldous Huxley and even Joe Friday agree: drugs in moderation and books can be a good thing, especially if you're published.
(I love the costume stereotypes in the Hulu clip, which took a while to find out how to link -- take note "?c=sec1:sec2".)
I just had a pow-wow with many top Democratic consultants (my peers). The verdict is the same. We keep the House and the Senate. The only difference is that my peers consider this difference to be a slight edge. I believe the victory is already there. You must now speak of it in past-tense.
House: 224+ Senate: 54+
N.B: Reid wins in NV, Boxer wins in CA, Alexi wins in IL, Murray wins in WA, Blumenthal wins in CT, Feingold wins in WI.
How do you like apples? Green.
Do you feel like crying? I am willing to offer political therapy.
I expect to be in high demand for 2012 re-election. Finally, I make it to the big-time.
Apparently, bed bugs were discovered at the Denver Public Library. That's a block from my home. So I'm not stepping foot in that place.
Did you see the news item on Sukko the drug-sniffing dog? That's a Belgian Sheepdog Tervuren. The breed's black muzzle, tail, and paws are maintained by crossing with Belgian Groenendales, AKC prohibited, so the black markings on US Tervurens tend to fad out over time. Usually one can discern European stock by the depth of black markings, among other small differences.
Note how the dog eagerly flies all around the place looking for the prize. It's all a hugely fun game. The dog gets to play with its handler and that's the best thing ever. It makes me want a dog. But I tell ya, they sure are a handful.
Meade&Michaele - Thanks for the info on the beautyberry.
Althouse - Another really remarkable photo in a folio that you have posted since 2004. And which go back to pics you took, or collected as an "even younger" person.

Hoary Frost and her brother Jack are visiting soon.
Hey, this ballot trace thing really works. I didn't know Post Office sorters worked through Saturday night.
Hmmm. Its says my ballot is in the parking lot at Maryland Democrat HQ.
I'm offering my sparkling, coherent prints and drawings for a willy-nilly price.
That is a beautiful photo.
Well done.

HD would take that as a bad thing.
Very nice photo

I guess I'll have to sit this one out.

What is the purple berry-like bush? It's beautiful.
.....how about something really gentle, nice and calming....

How do you like English? Unlearned, from the looks of it.
WV: bruda - you da kine, bruda.
I thought AP had retired.
Nice work, Palladian. I truly mean that in a non-snarky way......but.....which one is the self-portrait?

People who blindly follow policy should be made fun of.
kimsch: michaele ⇡ ID-ed it -- Beautyberry.
5 points michaele!
Thanks Meade and Michaele!
I'll have to find one to plant here. Same zone as I'm just south of the cheese curtain and a bit east....

kimsch: Here's a source. I've been doing business with them for 3 decades and have never been dissatisfied with their plants or service.
Meade, thanks!
