"Who knows? This may be the only time Ann Althouse and Barack Obama have ever appeared in the same picture."

Sugar cones are where it's at.

Nice of commenter "jj" to keep such an open mind: "I'm going over to [Althouse's] blog next to see how she chopped up the speech."

Nothing like checking in to seek out support for your preconceived notions...

Since you are a "Law Prof", maybe you should have asked him how he thinks he is an eligible natural born Citizen, since he has admitted to dual citizenship at birth (and since he has never disclaimed it, may be a British citizen to this day).
Nah, Constitutional eligibilty is like, passe.

Federalist #68 (Alexander Hamilton)

"Nothing was more to be desired than that every practicable obstacle should be opposed to cabal, intrigue, and corruption. These most deadly adversaries of republican government might naturally have been expected to make their approaches from more than one querter, but chiefly from the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils. How could they better gratify this, than by raising a creature of their own to the chief magistracy of the Union?"

Obama, born of a foreign father, is certainly not a "creature of our own". He is not born of the soil and blood of America, and is not eligible.

Disagree! The wafer cone is delicate and does not interfere with the delicate balance of flavors in the ice cream. It is the cone of free markets and small government. The sugar cone, on the other hand, is the cone of big government and hubris. It imposes it's own flavor without regard to the ice cream it contains, and when eaten it often breaks into sharp pieces that detract from the pleasures of mastication.

Quoting the article title:
First sitting president to visit Madison in 60 years talks about working on the car the Republicans drove into the ditch -- and why they shouldn't get the keys back

What a powerful metaphor that is. I get it. The economy is the car, and the recession is the ditch. And the republicans drove the car (economy) into the ditch (recession). And of course, since they were the drivers of the car (economy) we shouldn't give them the keys to the car (government power) so that they can drive the car even more into the ditch .Brilliant!
Now just repeat that during every single speech that Obama makes that concerns the economy and you have a talking point. in fact that's the extent of Obama's knowledge on the economy. Except for his expertise with "deregulation" and "fat cats on wall street". The fat cats almost killed Tweety Bird. So why should we let them back into the apartment again as they'll only try to kill Tweety BIrd again. Ok,that wasn't quite as good as the car in the ditch, but clearly you get the point.

You know what else has been driven into a ditch? The phrase "the republicans drove the car in the ditch and we shouldnt' give them back the keys. How much does anyone want to bet that the next time Obama talks about the economy the comparison between cars and ditches will be used, sprinkled with some fat cats on wall street lingo. For the love of god, can he PLEASE stop using that?

Especially since Obama and the dems have essentially set fire to the car, sold off the wheels and hubcaps removed the motor and chopped down some trees that fell in the middle of the road so that the tow truck driver cant drive around them and take the car out of the ditch. See, the car in the ditch is the recession...

A reasonable man would have called for a tow truck by now, but he's not a reasonable man.

Wafer cones go soggy. Perhaps on a fall day they work. On a hot summer day? Mush. Sugar cones are crisp! Just like blog posts are meant to be!

I never have frozen custard on a cone, btw -- always in a dish. For Babcock ice cream, about half dish, half cone.

instead let's give the keys to the towering intellect who went to law school and became a constitutional scholar and was shocked, shocked to the core of his unusually large brainpan to discover that liability insurance is not full coverage.

Is this president a one trick pony, or what? (Maybe TOTUS is stuck.)
