One of the best memories of my childhood. When we visited my grandmother in North Jersey, I'd go with my Aunt Claribel to a good-sized pond with a small waterfall at one end each morning and throw crusts of bread to the ducks.
@because I think the girl felt that the garden wasn't for her, at least not for her accompanied by her mother. I think she had noticed the lovers walking together and thought the garden was only for such people or, more accurately, she felt that she should have a boyfriend to go walking there.
And the video goes with it because the lady duck had her mallard.
@Penny The girl's talk isn't in the video. The video was taken on the same day, in a different part of the garden. I just thought the video illustrated the idea. I didn't have a picture of me and my dear sweet Meade. Or not one I could share anyway.

Thanks, Ann.

We're duck, so let's get to know each other Biblically.
The man and the woman would be the duck and the doochess.
It's always one man and one woman walking there... except when the mother brings her balking girl child, and the ducks decide to swim.
"The man and the woman would be the duck and the doochess."
Actually, it would be the drake and the duck...or drakess, should you prefer, rh. ;)
Was the little girl talking about the duck and drake, or Meadhouse?

The girl said it upon seeing me and Meade.
I thought it was very sweet. The girl would like a boyfriend.
I also vividly remember feeling that it was embarrassing to do things with a parent that I thought should be done with a boyfriend.
Don't think I would have been perceptive enough to put that all together...Actually I know I wouldn't, but that's why I enjoy your blog.
Only getting 9 seconds here, and can't even hear what the little girl said?
Haha Not that I let THAT get in the way of my commenting!
