A Saturday evening snack.

Now, checking in on the Gmail, I see that Hazy Dave has sent me a clip of something I happened to say somewhere on an old podcast. It seems appropriate or inappropriate:

Ha ha. It's all out of context. I'm reading something — probably something written in the 18th century. But we didn't drink 6/7/8 pints — not to be weak or strong. We shared one glass and easily walked home in the pre-Spring sunset:

You look fetching, Madame, if slightly sloshed.

The hat is definitely you.

We bought one glass -- as the post says -- and shared it. As you can see, the glass is nearly full. Thus, I have had no more than a sip!

This shows -- and I've seen it repeatedly -- that merely holding a drink makes people see you as drunk.

I have an old vlog where I hold a glass of wine -- a full glass -- and I never even sip it. Yet people look at that video and say I'm completely drunk!

Fancy beer is okay, but I prefer Night Train Express.

It's a Tactical Nuclear Penguin--illegally strong beer (here anyway). $50ish a bottle depending on the currency exchange rates.

There's nothing wrong with being drunk!

My Lent of Low Iodine Diet is over! As of yesterday morning when I finished my nuclear scans.

I went straight to Cracker Barrel and had a breakfast casserole in a mini skillet, with eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon...butter on me biscuits...and hot English tea with milk. I actually took a picture of the meal before I et it.

Then I had a small strawberry frappucino at Fivebucks, using a gift card from Xmas--and bought three Japanese tea tumblers with the rest of the balance.

Shopped a bit, then had a Coldstone Creamery concoction with banana, caramel, and nuts, in a cup--it was about the dairy.

Then I followed the Lent Friday rules for meatless potluck at church. I brought a white pizza with spinach and a four cheese pizza; and had Filipino shrimp and stir fry rice, and a sweet tater with brown sugar, and a salmon patty.

I kept eating junk cereal this morning, with milk. I've gone through 1/2 gallon of milk since yesterday (this cereal and British tea).

This evening I had a Bacon and Blue cheeseburger and onion rings. The last two iodine rich foods i was dreaming about.

I made country crock apples, and had hot apples a la mode for zert.

I feel so much better now.

I get my results March 9 unless the phone rings...which I'm half scared it will...they called me back in for more scans that weren't on the orders. Of course the technicians can't say anything and have to be pokerfaced. I think of the PET CT scan technicians that saw my breast cancer light up the screen, and yet they knew and said nothing and acted perfectly normal.

So until March 9, I will jump every time the phone rings. I will be OK driving to the appointment because if he hasn't called by the time I go there, everything was OK.

Seeking out iodine rich foods has kept me distracted for the last day, but now I am sated and starting to worry. I shall go pray a Rosary. Hanging out with Mama always soothes me.

I only said 'look'; there is something in your eyes and smile that is insouciant, carefree. As a longtime photographer and student of photographs ('caption this'), you, of all people, know the lens captures the occasional
unique expression.

Glad you have a chance to enjoy yourself. The Blonde goes to have her cast removed Wednesday, so I can appreciate your feeling of liberation.

I go for a 'procedure' on the 9th and will spend the next couple of weeks holding my breath. I hope all will be well for you.

Yeah, but those people were really just looking for something to throw at you. They disagree on your views and an attack is so much easier (and more fun for them) than noggin-tiring analytical thought.

In fairness though, the presence of alcohol probably creates a suggestion in people who don't like you and are therefore looking for faults. Odd, the way the mind works.

But hey, this is a good example of alcohol clouding minds at a distance! As Glenn Reynolds might say, "Alcohol, is there anything it can't do"?

And good luck kentuckyliz!

Sounds like you have a great attitude and from what I hear, that helps, a lot.

I'm sure edutcher doesn't need me to defend him but I took his use of the word "sloshed," above, more as a term of endearment than a scolding. You know, sloshed, in a good way.
