Hatch who was trying to stop people from violating copyright laws with their evil machines (computers), asked technology chiefs at a hearing in Washington about whether they could develop ways to damage or destroy the computers.

Hatch said damaging computers "may be the only way you can teach someone about copyright".

"If we can find some way to do this without destroying their machines, we'd be interested in hearing about that,"

"If that's the only way, then I'm all for destroying their machines."

Reading these comments I realize what the elites hated about the Bushes: they were, for all their blue-bloodedness, plain-speaking, mean-what-they-say-and-say-what-they-mean-except-when-tongue-tied. They had no glibness. They weren't "smooth operators."
