"If you thought those were ironic smiles and hoots of approval in the Congressional audience, you were right."

Ah! So now irony may be hooted. In Congress.

I'd love to witness a hooting Senator wearing an acid-washed denim suit and affecting the stylish air of JFK.

Word origin: irony.

Nothing shows that style is almost everything more than the adulation of JFK - a character at the Clinton level of sleaze - that continues to this day, the facts be damned.

Ironic smiles and hoots of approval are a useless quack device which cannot perform any other function than separating naive persons from their money. It’s a fake, a scam, a swindle, and a blatant fraud. Prove me wrong and take the million dollars.

It just occured to me, via the tags on this post, that SOTU is awfully close to STFU. Only two more Obama STFU addresses to go.

Soon, if not already, some Internet or texting abbreviation is going to overwhelm some long-established shorthand. You won't be able to use NASA or SCOTUS in polite company (SCOTUS already sounds biological).

Obama's habit of asking mocking rhetorical questions like, why would I want to run GM? or why wouldn't I cut spending? is not irony, it's lying.

And the sheeple who voted for him and get all their news from Entertainment Tonight are blissfully unaware.
