The bottom picture appears to have been snapped first. The sunset is slightly brighter in that pic.
After the bottom pic was snapped, it looks to me like the photographer of the top pic then walked closer to the evergreen treeline, stopping just past the large leafless tree (elm or oak?), that is visible in the bottom pic but not the top pic. At least to my eyes, that sunset is slightly darker.
