Run, run, it's that Martian water again being sent to punish us for not surrendering our national sovreignty at Copenhagen.

I still think that Althouse should make jigsaw puzzles out of her photos. They would be incredibly challenging and beautiful to look at when completed.

See.... a second career!!

C'mon in, the water's fine!

What...you can see us?

Zebrafish would be well camouflaged in that patch of water, from the surface at least. So would certain Angelfish.

Would you like to see a few pictures of ordinary bread I made yesterday?

अनामित म्हणाले...

Please don't post links to photos of loaves here. It might give someone ideas.

Have you tried making Portuguese Sweet Bread, Chip? It's flavored with lemon extract and butter and there's just nothing like it when eaten warm, with a little butter and peach jam.

Yummm.

Recycling your photos, huh? Gotta get the second semester lectures together...

Can you imagine giving a couple of six year olds (or somebody recovering from the office Christmas party) this to solve?

DBQ, you have a sadistic streak in you ;)

Are you trying to kill me??? I'm cutting the carbs until I lose my holiday weight.

Edutcher wants me to repost this very important message from Microsoft, which might've gotten lost in last night's Cafe post.

OT:

Had to post this, because it's an urgent message from Microsoft. Bottom line is, DO NOT use IE for the foreseeable future. It's got a super-exploitable script hole for which there is no solution so far, on all versions.

Try Firefox, guys. Really, it's the best.

Cheers,
Victoria

Paul, it just struck me what you meant.

I'm glad I clicked on this thread to find it's turning towards food.

I just read this review from my local food critic and thought, hmm, I need to share this with Victoria. But it's such a good description of New Orleans cultures, that I'll mention it here.

Our local food critic went to Cuba and couldn't find any good Cuban food. He said he spent two weeks in Siberia once, during the Cold War, and agrees with Anthony Bourdain that "Communism is bad for food."

And the resulting immigration to the U.S. is good, very, very good, for us.

Cubano sandwiches abound in NOLA; one guy makes his on Vietnamese french bread (banh mi) he gets from Duong Phong bakery, a linchpin of the Vietnamese/New Orlean East recovery post-Katrina.

What a great country.

I would, but my broker/dealer insists on having all of our software for trading and resources on a Microsoft IE platform. Really annonying.

Thanks, vb. You probably saved a lot of people lots of time, trouble, and money.

This doesn't compute. Try an evaluation copy of Firefox. I expect your broker will not be able to notice - HTML is HTML and the method of accessing it is black-box. If he or she persists, hose him off. I've just been casting into outer darkness some offensive mutual fund companies that were in kid accounts and a trust I administer, as a result of the triennial rebalance. It's a good feeling, being part of a capitalist feedback loop. They know how bad their performance has been. They need to know where the efficient frontier of mass redemptions lies; between the first printing of the annual report, and the next 10Q, falls The Shadow.

Thanks for the review, Beth! :)
