"Arnold Schwarzenegger calls for 'planetary transformation.'"
I guess the word "global" has gotten tiresome and Arnold would like to sound new and visionary but "planetary" had me thinking about Mars... you know, this. Now, that was planetary transformation.

That is the 2nd Total Recall reference this month! (And no I did not have to look either of them up.) Love that movie for it's nice foreshadowing and the fact Sharon Stone gets what she deserves. It ain't plausible but it's fun.
But will Planetary Governance play in Peoria? The Governator knows he will have to join the Movement to Rule the Planet since he is not good at ruling California and has to move on.
When politicians become neutered, they talk in grandiose generalities. The great part is that when people ignore them, they can self-righteously complain that "they had vision!"
Christ, our governmental leadership all sound like a bunch of hippies.
"Total Recall"--cool movie, and with one of the all-time great lines in cinema history:
"I'll blow this place and be home in time for corn flakes!" -- Vilos Cohaagen
After all, Planet Hollywood was such a rousing success.
In the word association test of life, you say "planetary" and I respond "gear."
To "gear" I say "fab."
And I sound like a Beatle.
To which I say "bug."
If Planetary Transformation means less pollution, I'm all for it.
Got me thinking of Planet Hollywood, another good Arnold idea.
One thing I hope this whole "Climategate" thing stops is any urge the climatologists might have to pretentiously call themselves "planetologists" like in Dune.
I would support trillions to colonize Mars.

Can we turn Jupiter into a star like in 2010? That would rule.
Politicians talk like they are from Uranus.
@Paul
Probably not, but why would we want to? There's enough pure energy (said with a Spock voice, reverbed and echoed to the beat of Jesus Jones in the background) in Jupiter's halo to provide an entire, colonized solar system with infinite power.
The torus between Jupiter and a couple of its nearer moons generates electricity far beyond the teravolt range, if memory serves.
Yeah, and I think the radiation around Jupiter and Io would have made a lot of the activity shown in 2001 and 2010 very hazardous for the astronauts. Like, not possible.
Is it OK to call this the climate-industrial complex? There's way too much invested in terms of money and ego for people to back down.
Does this Austrian Actor mean that he want to use Planetary Astrology to plan the future? Somebody alert Crack Emcee.
"If Planetary Transformation means less pollution, I'm all for it."
Two questions:
At what cost?
Do you think CO2 is a pollutant?
But you thought he was so cool, so collected and calm under pressure. The signs of megalomania were bright as the sun and you chose to ignore them. Phooey!
Isn't this escalation of scale pointless now that politicians have gone "universal"?

Vilos Cohaagen - Who gives a shit what you believe! In 30 seconds you'll be dead, and I'll blow this place up and be home in time for cornflakes.

They Live>Total Recall
I thought he already did that somewhere between, "I'll be bach" and "Hasta la vista, baby".
WV "reepi" What a guy has to do when he misses entirely.
CO2 can be a pollutant (see Lake Nyos), but in general, no.
It's his accent. He actually said to his landscaper "plant there the chrysanthemum."
Richter - I want that fucker dead!
Helm - I don't blame you, man. I wouldn't want a guy like Quaid porkin' my old lady.
Richter - You saying she likes it?
Helm - No, I'm sure she hated every minute of it.

The Pope's all over the green stuff now too.
Thanks, guys!
I was at a Colts party last Sunday partaking in quaeso, chili and buffalo wings and I can talk to you about pollutants.
Good think none of us were smokers. It could have been a disaster.
Methane isn't a pollutant.
It's an energy source.
"We in California have proven it over and over that you can protect the economy, and you can protect the environment."
He's the Governor. How can he possibly look at his state and say this? There is just no connection between what is happening to his state and his comments about it. He hasn't just found one, this guy has colonized an exoplanet. First thing we do, we hire the inmates as guards.
Technician: Sir, the oxygen level is bottoming out in Sector G. What do you want me to do about it?
Vilos Cohaagen: [as if obvious] Don't do anything.
Technician: But they won't last an hour, sir.
Vilos Cohaagen: Fuck 'em. It'll be a good lesson to the others.
He's the Governor. How can he possibly look at his state and say this?
The scary thing is that the governor he replaced was even worse.
@MM what do you mean by pollution. A civilization killing virus could do a lot to stop pollution but I'm very much against such a thing.

"They Live > Total Recall"
No way. "They Live" was lame. There's at least one great fight sequence featuring "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, but the film was burdened by a political subtext that bordered on the obnoxious. In this case, John Carpenter wanted to use this decidedly cheesy sci-fi action film to try to make a deadly serious and not very subtle statement about how the Third World was being exploited by the evil world capitalist system, or something. Spare me.
Schwarzenegger always makes a plan and strongly implements his plan. The problem is,as with most politicians, that he doesn't know about or respect our plan, only about a plan for Arnold's future. He needs to have a plans for the best interests American people, like Ronald Reagan could do so easily.
"They Live > Total Recall"
Blasphemy. You say this only to offend Truth and Beauty.
Not to say that I don't like They Live. I do. Plus, even if I didn't, it reminds me of David Icke, and that's enough for a laugh.
