On Saturday, Wayne Neeley, a friend of [former NFL quaterback Steve] McNair’s who co-rented the condominium with him, entered it just before 1 p.m. He found McNair on a sofa and [his 20-year-old female friend Sahel] Kazemi on the floor in the living room, the police said. At first, Neeley did not notice they were dead, but then he found blood near the bodies. He called Robert Gaddy, another friend of McNair’s, and Gaddy called the police.
Double murder, but is one of the murders self-murder?
Both bodies were found in the living room of the condominium, [a police spokesman] said, with McNair on a sofa and Kazemi on the floor close to him. A pistol was found near Kazemi at the scene....

It could be a duel, if there were two pistols nearby.
One of the few things the Nashville PD have said about this, is that they do not think it was murder-suicide.
I stand corrected:

This does not compute. The police are NOT searching for a suspect, and McNair probably did not shot himself several times. So some erratic lady must have popped him. I am waiting until there is a quick story in the NYT analysing whether or not Sarah Palin can prove she did not do this? After all a narcissist who can pretend she gave birth to Trig, could easily have done this. And what about Palin's daughter's ex-fiance's parents?
Uhm... the "erratic lady" was apparently his 20 year old "friend" who killed herself.
What a tragedy.
Looks like girl popped him, them shot herself (preliminary).
The NPD were kind enough to inform the AP that Mrs. McNair is distraught (no fooling) and likely not a suspect.
My son lives not far from the crime scene so will get fresh gossip soon.
And why was hubby with a 20 year old?
As my wife says: "men have two heads, and usually think with the smaller one."
And why was hubby with a 20 year old?
Wow, that's a tuffy, NOT!
So I'm wondering: If you find out that your husband has been cheating at the same time you find he has been murdered, do you feel angry that you can't beat him with a rolling pin and shame him, or satisfied that he's got his due without you having to do it? Seriously, that must be a strong set of mixed emotions.
I think most spouses would be relieved that their other half is murdered with or without the cheating. Sudden freedom, control, twice as much to spend and a fresh new playing field.
Of course I'm not talking about Ann and Meade...yet.
There's also the odd bit about her being pulled over and arrested for DUI Thurs morning with McNair in the vehicle, an Escalade registered in BOTH of their names. I heard about the killings yesterday minutes after the news broke. After hearing Don Aaron's comments at the scene I turned to my brother-in-law and said "Murder-suicide." When he said the circumstances surrounding the killings were unclear, I read between the lines.
"So I'm wondering: If you find out that your husband has been cheating at the same time you find he has been murdered, do you feel angry that you can't beat him..."
She resigned herself long ago to the fact that he would always have a little something on the side.
In recompense for looking the other way she gets financial security and the use of a famous last name and the entre that it brings.
"I am waiting until there is a quick story in the NYT analysing whether or not Sarah Palin can prove she did not do this?"
Heh.
Why are two guys renting an apartment? I'm sure it was to have a place to be with girlfriends. Sounds like the girl was unstable. Only on L&O would the wife be implicated.
"Why are two guys renting an apartment?"
Saves on hotel bills, and no doorman to spread gossip.
Death on the Appalachian Trail
Fatal Attraction.
There was also a bunny cooking on the stove.
At first, Neeley did not notice they were dead,
Was he high? Was the girl often sprawled on the floor?
In the above article "link":
"I always wanted to retire and teach kids about life, and I'm still doing that with my camps," McNair told the Tennessean last week.
How about starting with your own kids, asshole? This guy was a real fuck, why people are praising him is beyond me.
Murder/suicides using a gun happen with some regularity.
Murder/suicides where the person on the trigger is a woman, almost unheard of.
Women rarely off themselves with guns, in general.
Could have been staged, but that seems unlikely, too, cause then the woman would have had to have seen McNair shot by someone else and then been positioned in a spot consistent with a murder/suicide scenario while not defending herself against a fatal head wound at close range.
The NYT will probably 'prove' that only a charasmatic figure like Sarah Palin could have convinced the woman to not flee and not defend herself, so obviously traditionalguy is right, the NYT will show that it must have been Sarah Palin...
PS. No, he didn't deserve to die. Few people do, but neither does he deserve the praise he is getting beyond "he was a great footballer."
The press needs to start calling out hypocrites instead of kissing their asses. (Yeah, yeah, they do that and they lose access. Same thing happens with politicians.)
I know a woman who committed murder then suicide. It happens.
She was about the same age as this whack job, too, assuming the dead woman was in fact the perp.
How about Phil Hartman? His wife popped him, then herself.
Chicks are psychos, too.
Was he high? Was the girl often sprawled on the floor?
Quite possibly, given that when pulled over for a DUI Thursday night, she told the police "she wasn't drunk, she was high".
But, also quite possibly he may have just been stalling while frantically trying to figure out how to protect his friend's image without breaking any laws himself.
The police should be able to rule-out a murder/suicide by checking for powder residue on the hands of the two dead.
