(1) Why would anyone wish a happy Mother’s Day to someone not their mother or the mother of their children?
To each his own, I suppose.
Maybe, I shouldn’t judge harshly until I’ve tried it myself. Maybe later today I’ll see a young mother out with her children and I’ll smile as I approach her and then I’ll say, “Your children are very beautiful. Thank you for not aborting them.”
(2) I was a high school junior and it was right about the time I figured out that Kate Jackson was a far more desirable object of unobtainable masturbatory fantasy than Farrah Fawcett.
My mother seldom gave me anything but she gave me a red tee-shirt with white rubbery lettering. It read as follows:
CARPETING WALL TO WALL BY JOE WALLS YOU SAY IT, WE LAY IT IF WE CAN’T LAY IT IT CAN’T BE LAID
Cornball, I know, but I actually kind of liked that tee-shirt. It was “adult” and I was the only kid at school who had one. I wore it proudly maybe 6 or 8 times before I became ashamed of it.
The reason for my change of heart, pretty much, was that I was a little slow on the up-take and it took me a few weeks before I finally figured out that my mother was having an affair with a carpet guy.
Maybe later today I’ll see a young mother out with her children and I’ll smile as I approach her and then I’ll say, “Your children are very beautiful. Thank you for not aborting them.”. . By the same token, you could thank her for having sex.
Wait, how do you know the random mother you see on the street didn't have an abortion before having her child? If so, then the child wouldn't exist if not for that abortion. So, in that case, you'd need to thank her for getting an abortion.

just for you.
Babies are likely to turn out well even if the marriage doesn't.
Happy Mothers' Day to you and all mothers
Is that you? Or is it a young Meryl Streep?

May I suggest that you honor your son by commenting on his blog?

Re: Your comment over there: Did the wedding happen already and I missed it?
That was just some matrimonial jocosity.
When you commented -- "my two husbands," were you hinting that you already have a second husband??
Just an expression. Not actually married yet.
