"Behind Eliot Spitzer's flaccid attempt at re-erecting his public persona..."

The Daily News goes all phallic for some reason.

CORRECTION: I mean The New York Post.

If Spitzer stays firm, he can probably thrust himself back into politics. But it'll be tight.

If Spitzer stays firm, he can probably thrust himself back into politics. But it'll be tight. He might need some coaxing or hand holding to resurrect himself, but the climax would be well worth the effort.

Haha... at least they didn't miss the "l" in public.

I recall a time, probably right when such a thing as an automatic spell-checker was invented, when a newspaper article on pubic lice was corrected to "public" lice.

My grandmother read it out-loud to my cousin and me... I thought she was going to have a coronary, she could hardly speak she was laughing so hard.

SteveR म्हणाले...

Hopefully his re-erected public persona won't last more than four hours.

KCFleming म्हणाले...

Premature exoneration.

BJK म्हणाले...

I just wonder how long he can keep it up.

blake म्हणाले...

I thought Congress was the public lice.

Lem Vibe Bandit म्हणाले...

Spitzer has paid his debt... to the escort services.

I dont see any reason why he cant be allowed to bang lady liberties doors just like any other citizen.

Wince म्हणाले...

Spitzer swallows?

Penny म्हणाले...

I know he couldn't be happy there, but personally, I have enjoyed some of his insight at Salon.

Joseph म्हणाले...

That's not nearly as rich as David Schuster's line yesterday:

"If you plan on ‘tea bagging all around the country, you’re going to need a Dick Armey."

AlphaLiberal म्हणाले...

Who are conservatives to cast stones at Eliot Spitzer when they start a whole movement based around teabagging?

blake म्हणाले...

Gosh, that's just never gonna get old.

Meanwhile the Obama "O" as goatse.cx is looking more and more prophetic.

AlphaLiberal म्हणाले...

Eliot Spitzer was taken out by a partisan Justice Department. It's suspicious, at the least.

What was he accused, never charged or convicted, of? Patronizing a prostitute? Hard to see how the FBI cares about one case.

Somehow I doubt that conservatives would be okay with the Obama Administration investigating Republican officeholders whoring around. Though that's, apparently, a target-rich environment.

Buford Gooch म्हणाले...

C'mon, Alpha and Jeremy, get with the humor.

AlphaLiberal म्हणाले...

Obviously you missed my teabagging crack, Buford.

Shuster also said..

We can only speculate why widespread tea bagging made [Neil] Cavuto think of the Million Man march, unless he got them confused with Dick Armey.

rhhardin म्हणाले...

for some reasonTedious. A headline like ``Shithead is back'' would have carried the message better.

AlphaLiberal म्हणाले...

Dick Armey being important because he is leading the Teabagging astroturf campaign* from his 501 group, "FreedomWorks". They're even doing robocalls for this grassroots campaign. Hmmm.....

* - As in artificial grassroots.

It is Page Six of the NY Post, not the NY Daily News. It is also hilarious and why the Post is New York's most entertaining read.

Peter V. Bella म्हणाले...

I really love people like Alpha and Jeremy. They remind me of just how corrupt hypocritical liberals realy are.

It is alright for liberals to protest their favorite causes; greenei weenie stuff, save the terrorists, open the prisons, and let us not forget the the rights of people to marry animals. But let conservatives protest anything serious and they get themselves in a snit. They really get pissed if anyone has the audacity to protest higher taxes. That is an abomination before humanity. I wonder when they will finally get their way and make tax protests a crime?

BTW Alpha, you are still roundly hated for your rant about the shooting incident, you POS.

Methadras म्हणाले...

Spitzer thinks that the public has short memory and they are more forgiving to a liberal spit-fire. I'd make a snarky, sarcastic remark too, but these other ones do the job just fine.

Your entire tenure here at Althouse is based on being teabagged you sub-human degenerate. Have you no shame? Do you now know by now that you are essentially persona non-grata here after getting caught with your pants down by blaming a shooting that cost many people their lives on conservativism? Find another place to infest your idiocy with. No one wants to see it here anymore.

Client #9 went after two of my friends (I knew both of their families since High School and still do today), both high level Old school Dems named Chartier and Hevesi.

He had no reason to go after them other then to clear any future primary battles (Hevesi was the second most well known State D in NY and NYC).

Client #9 went after hank greenberg of AIG and their fortunes have not been the same.

What this Conservative republican (who will be at the Van Nuys Tea Party tommorow) is saying is:

Client #9 hurt my friends, who were also Democrats -- No member of the press or the political world should give him respectability.

Let Hevesi be on TV first. He was a good guy.

In case jeremy or Alphaliberalshithead haven't told you, nice guys finish last; They are a bump in the road to political history.

Don't forget that NY is a very "progressive" state. That means that Spitzer actually has a pretty good chance of pulling this off. There are a lot of people here who think he got railroaded while forgetting all the people he railroaded on his way up. He is truly a POS and should be discarded but the crew that will vote for Jerry Nadler, Chuckie Schumer, Charlie Rangel and company will probably vote for him.

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

Spitzer is an impotent, arrogant man. So yes, he has a great future in Democrat Party politics. He and little johnny edwards can run together on the "Whores are a normal and necessary freedom for married men's liberation" theology/platform that has courageously been newly discovered in the Episcopalian Church's re-written Book of Common Selfishness.

hdhouse म्हणाले...

Peter...when have you ever protested something serious? Or made a serious protest?

As to Spitzer, the best quote from the article was "My record as governor was disappointing, but the voters will remember my excellent two terms as attorney general."

He needs to get in touch with GWB and take lessons on re-inventing his legacy.
