Strange old tree and, underneath it, the grave of hope.

Was Hope his former significant other's name? I hope it was only a pet hampster.

Again with the sycamores.

Nothing strange about that tree - it has even had some pruning.

But it is good that Hope has been buried - it was overrated in any case.

Change, however, like the poor, will always be with us.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

Just wait for Spring and the Hope will rise again. Pathos is a waste of good human energy.

You know, come to think of it, that farmhouse looks a lot like Philomel Cottage. I hope the owner doesn't have a small scar on his wrist. As near as I can tell, though, there is no Dick Windyford character in the storyline.

Is Change buried around there?

Someone buried hope?

Maybe they got Saint Joseph confused with Pandora.

Even pets named Hope are dying. What are the chances of seeing something like that walking around in an wooded area somewhere. Hmmph.

I'm concerned.

First it was Socks the cat, now Hope. We're doomed.

When I was seven years old, riding on the bus to YMCA day camp, I saw a square stone set in the ground near the roadside that read "Bound." Being unacquainted with the surveying profession I thought it was the grave marker of a dog named Bound. I started to cry, and some older kids on the bus laughed at me.

St. Joseph?

the great Levitator or the Betrothed?

“ Saint Jude, Hope of the Hopeless, Pray for me

To encourage devotion to St. Jude, it is common to acknowledge in writing favors received. He is frequently thanked in the personals column of many daily newspapers such as the Daily Telegraph, Private Eye and other newspapers.

While not understanding much of Catholicism details and dogma, I am a devoted card carrying member because remembering saints is the only way to remember some narratives from people of the distant past who never got written up in the Roman chronicles and were probably considered close to criminal in their day. Dang, Pharisees and Procurators! Their stories are probably as true as the public image of the great leaders.

As I haven't posted anything in the cincy paper, he may be dead as is hope but many of us who are hopeless causes have a space for him at least in our wallet or on our web galleries. A minute few honor him as the iMaginary patron saint of iPods underwater.
