Now Ann, as I mentioned last week, there is a reason you should seek the protection of the Noble Sir Archy: to drive away the ignoble suitors, if necessary with a bullwhip or some other implement.

My parents are driving to Arizona and they are in staying in Elk City Oklahoma.

My mother generally never says a bad thing about anything but she told me today that Oklahoma is the worst state she has ever been to.

She said it is just nasty and ugly. How funny.

I drove throught Oklahoma one time. I mainly just say the rest stops, but they were really bad.

At the Holidome? The Payzone has decent bar food, but if one of 'em wants to do the 72oz steak deal at the Big Texan (http://www.bigtexan.com/ ) when they get to Amarillo, don't eat too much.

I don't know where they are staying as far as hotel.

She did say it is difficult to find any type of restaurant other than fast food along the highway.

They drove through Oklahoma all day and my mother just said it was bleak and flat. She likes looking at nature, you know hills, valleys, forests etc and she said she hasn't seen much of anything like that in Oklahoma.

Although, I did look up Oklahoma City in Wiki and it said it is going through a "renaissance".

They stayed in Sant Robert, Missouri last night which was by a big Military Base.

My mom told me the last two "large cities" they will be going through before they get to Scottsdale is Amarillo and Albequerque (sp).
Tomorrow they head through the Texas panhandle.

My parents don't eat a lot. They always order food for the "lighter eater". I think a 72 oz steak would be a bit too much.

I did read that Oklahoma City has the "largest gay entertainment complex in the southwest".

It includes 3 bars, restaurant, gay gift shop, two pools (clothing optional), whirlpool, sauna and 200 guest rooms. How does that sound for depressing?

After looking at the gallery of pictures on the "Habanna Inn Oklahoma City" website. I was tempted to find the gay to straight pill. Or as a friend of mine says when he sees something gross from one of our gay brothers, "I am Cured".

TitusnottheeGorilla म्हणाले...

Oh and in the pictures of the restaurant at the Habanna Inn can I just say it looks like Joan Crawford's house in Mommie Dearest.

Absolutely horrible and unforgiveable but you know those Okies think it's diva.

Not to dwell but the bars at the Habana Inn are:

The Copa
Finishline
Partners
Wreck Room

The restaurants name is:

Gushers

The "gift shop" is:

Red Velvet

This is my last comment on The Habana Inn.

They have long term monthly rates.

Does cold weather make your camera sluggish? Does condensation form when you bring the camera into a warm room from the cold? Are these concerns for you in Madison? Did you have your camera with you when you fell? Did it ever go flying off into the snow? These are serious camera-related questions that are troubling my mind.

Having been to some of the more isolated parts of Oklahoma, all I can say is that they decided to build all the major roads through the ugliest parts of the state.

There are beautiful places in Oklahoma. My two favorites are Beavers Bend and Natural Falls.

"Keep pressing on please. :) Love your blog!"

Okay, but the linked article doesn't relate to me and my blog.

Did anyone read the article? I think not!

Chip Ahoy said..."Does cold weather make your camera sluggish?"

I didn't notice that it did. But I don't stay out in the cold very long. Like when I did the graveyard... 15 minutes at most. A few weeks ago, at the botanical garden, when it was colder, I was probably out for 20 minutes.

"Does condensation form when you bring the camera into a warm room from the cold?"

Not that I've noticed, but, again, I didn't let the camera get too cold.

"Did you have your camera with you when you fell? Did it ever go flying off into the snow?"

No and no.

So did you get that D90? I'm thinking of getting that, but I need to justify replacing the D50.

Let's see...a midddle aged guy looking up MySpace or Facebook pages of teenagers (step children). Not gonna happen. Ever. Even understanding the additional risk of not monitoring their behavior with all available tools.

I don't want to end up in the big house with Gerald Amirault.
