In Kondappanaikkanpalayam, they saw the flying squirrel.

"It ate fruits and nuts like ordinary squirrels but unlike them, had sharp fingers, teeth and cat-like face and its bite was poisonous."

This is bloggable because:

1. Squirrel news.

2. I have never in my life seen a cooler place name than Kondappanaikkanpalayam.

Geez, you sure that wasn't Barney Frank?

"Kondappanaikkanpalayam" is a colloquialism for Frostbite Falls, Minnesota.

Forget Joe the plumber.. send the flying squirrels to cover wars.

I thought Kondappanaikkanpalayam was the sound you make when you use one of those mechanical vaginas from yesterday...

What about Massachusetts' Webster Lake, known to the local squirrels as "Lake Chargoggagogg-manchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg?

Cool, huh?

Oh boy. At last a new one- upmanship pet. Wait until the neighbors see I have one of these squirrels in my trees and they are stuck with out of date Grey squirrels. But how do you Board it when you travel? And I fear PET FRIENDLY hotels will discriminate. Life sure seems unfair to animal lovers these days.

"... unlike (other squirrels, it) had sharp fingers, teeth and cat-like face and its bite was poisonous."

So in other words, it was a nightmare squirrel.

Yesterday I got the aceiest ace lens in all of acedom, and I'm filled with glee. If things go right, tomorrow I'll get the aceiest camera. The various parts had to be got separately because aceness like this isn't often packaged together.

I wonder if the Srivilliputhurian moose also has sharp fingers, teeth, a cat-like face and a poisonous bite.

In the 1960s, a favorite cartoon among villagers of Sathy forest was Kondappanaikkanpalwinkle Moose and Srivilliputhur J. Squirrel.

"Kondappanaikkanpalwinkle: Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Srivillipy: Again?? That trick never works.

Kondappanaikkanpalwinkle: This time for sure.

Lion: ROARRRR!!

Srivillipy: Wrong hat!

Kondappanaikkanpalwinkle: I take a size seven and a half. "

"The flying squirrel had half-feet tail and bat-like wings and would fly from one tree to another like a bat, he said."

My thought: Pygmy Chupacabra.

It's a big deal in England right now that the American common grey squirrel which was introduced, probably by an idiot do-gooder, is driving the native English red squirrel toward extinction.

For some unknown reason I thought of this song, but realized I never thought about its origin post 9-11.

Guantanamera ("girl from Guantánamo") is perhaps the best known Cuban song and that country's most noted patriotic song.
