Come on! You have to get a better likeness than that!

Really. Plus, the skin tone of the football matching the skin tone of the man? Tsk.

Total agreement. That's horrible. One hears four years of big ears from caricaturists.

Amazingly amateurish, like most things that come out of Slate.

Contra Yachira, I actually like Slate, but this is indeed a poor caricature. And it's not like Obama is hard to caricature -- he has an elongated figure, big ears, and deep set eyes. That ought to be more than enough to key off.

Cartoonists are terrified of a reaction like that to the Danish Muhammad cartoons.

Let us hope that the proverbial "Lucy", representing reality, doesn't move the football that Barack "Charlie Brown" Obama is trying to kick.

Apparently the caricature was successful as evidenced by the fact that we all recognized the protagonist.

It's not hard to guess when the first two words of the article are "Barack Obama," and the article is about Obama. I mean, it could be a totally unrelated caricature that just happened to be paired with this article, but how likely is that?

Why am I thinking any caricature is going to feature some big ears? Can't wait to see what IBD's Ramirez settles on.

I think that's a great likeness! ... of a young, tanned Bob Eubanks.

Nice tan.

He looks like Don Adams made of peanut butter.

The eyebrows suggest that it was originally intended as a Bush caricature and was re-colored for the new regime. Unfortunately, googling the artist's name doesn't provide any evidence to bear this out.

Looks more like a Kerry caricature.
