Rocky loved his cousin Whitey the squirrel. He had never sold out to the man. He was still in school, still living his dream just like they had done back in the sixties. It was his 37th consecutive year in school, but he was closing in on his post grad degree. Why had he gone out that day. He never was out while the hawk was hunting. The police stated that Whitey had a violent quarrel with a law professor just before he died. He is buried right on the campus here in Madison. Rocky was never satisfied about the details of Whitey's demise. He searched his papers and found something strange. The last note he had found in Whitey’s journal was very cryptic. All it said was “Beware the vortex.” (Jay Ward and Alex Anderson, Rocky and Bulwinkle, E True Hollywood Story)
I guess, since it is not high relief or in the round, it is a bas relief. But it was made with a CNC machine and a small bit, milling directly into the flat surface. There is no rounding of any of the surface features, just the original flat top with the background lowered.

Who barfed?
It's gotta be near the Humanities building; that where they store all the nuts.
To answer your question, yes, some UW folk can.
That's not barf, that's the squirrel's nutshells. Magical!
Altar of the St. Francis of Assisi area for outdoor Masses.
Hopefully not near your office!
I don't know where it is. I'd guess in the Botany Garden.
Looks like it's under a bench to me.
That appears to be undigested seed and pit residue commonly found in the feces of Procyon lotor. They love fruit.
One day of rain will usually make a free-form mess out of raccoon poo cigars.
Trust me, I'm a doctor. Hahahaha.

Hmm.
This looks like a far-away view of the same bench.
Where ever it is it should be removed. It looks too much like a gopher. Pictoral representation of vermin should have no place on the UW campus.
Not far from the descendent of Newton's apple tree...
Oh Lord, I swear I can see the Obama's image in that tableau!
MM- so is that Lathrop Hall, northwest corner?
Yes, that's Lathrop. A stone's throw from the Law Building.
I'm not answering any more questions until you tell us what was on the menu {belligerently crosses arms across chest}.
Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.
Madison Man is right. Very good. I walked by that bench many times before noticing the squirrel bas relief, which I found quite charming.
A newish bench next to a garden. After you rule out the Allen Centennial Gardens, there aren't many options left.
This campus needs more gardens!

Can the UW folks get a frickin broom and clean up yur effin filthy campus?
That's Andy Sullivan's nuthouse, his home away from home.
