"People shouldn't make a decision this time based on, 'I like that guy' or 'she's cute.'"

"And I'm talking about me."

Michelle Obama cracks a joke.

Tell it to Biden.

Obama continued with talk about Biden when she said, “What you learn about Barack from his choice is that he’s not afraid of smart people.”

This was another SHOT she was taking at Palin.

I wonder if she was scratching her face with her middle finger at the time...

What a smart guy Biden is to say that paying taxes is patriotic. He opened the door and Palin is walking right through it to challenge Biden's brain and Obama's judgment.

Not only is Michelle not a candidate, she's not cute.

I would not, in this lifetime, ever vote for either Obama. However, much as I dislike their policies, I'm willing to admit that Michelle is attractive. It does no good to denigrate her appearance.

My opinion is not based on Bambi's policies and I don't think she is ugly. I just don't find her cute. There are plenty of lefties that I think are hot and I'm not afraid to admit it.

I not only find her not cute, but angry-ugly. Someone can lack the physical attributes associated with classic beauty and can still be attractive because their inner nature shines through and creates appeal. MO, with her harsh features and even harsher personality is singularly unappealing to me. Ugh.

I really like Barack Obama but there is just something about Michelle.

Sometimes she is just too intelligent for her own good.

I would never vote for Obama, but that's a funny joke. Lighten up, people.

I think it is great the Obama is getting tough and over and over making this point. This election will not be like past recent elections-it is not going to be about flag burning or Willie Horton or swift boats and all of the other trivial garbage that is used.

If I could even understand what obama stands for other than empty platitudes and catch phrases of "change" and "hope", I'd consider it. But *sigh* I got nuthin' to work with here, nuthin'

As First Lady, Mamie Eisenhower kept a low political profile. "Ike runs the country," she once remarked. "I turn the porkchops."

She also liked to talk about cocks and a big organ she played with. She vamped Ike, too. Had a bob job.

Looks count. Wow, what an insight. But Sarah Palin's looks do count. Her radiance is irresistibly appealing to millions. Go ahead dark Dems, do your damndest. You are thoroughly screwed.

And what else do we have to go on?

Why is everyone taking a self-deprecating joke so seriously? Laugh.

Godot म्हणाले...

God, yes. Please, please, please send Michelle out to speak every day from now 'til November.

She would kiss her ass in the middle of State and Madison in the middle of the lunch hour.

Note: State and Madison is the busiest intersection in Chicago.

Michelle is not naturally jokey. I picture her as the serious, quiet type growing up -- a bookworm.

Like so many liberals you spout the "Willie Horton" myth as if it had some basis in fact.

Since you are either a) historically ignorant, or b) you're just flat out lying; let me remind you and the other readers:

Al Gore was one who used Willie Horton against Dukakis first during the Democratic primaries.

Yes, St. Gore.

But it wasn't racist when Gore did it, just when Bush used the exact same thing?

Just like trying to blame Republicans for the "Obama is a Muslim" - that was Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries. Jeremiah Wright? Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries.

Over and over again we see this pattern of Democrats blaming Republican "smear tactics" and "racism," when they repeat exactly what Democrats themselves were saying a few months ago.

Nice try, but you're busted. EPIC FAIL.

Because it obviously wasn't a self-deprecating joke: it was a dig at Palin that she thought she was exceedingly clever for telling. The next line was added for plausibile deniability - much like Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comment: the only ones buying it are the ones already in the tank for Obama.

The phrase "too clever by half" come to mind. And they wonder why people think they're elitists and out of touch?

Thanks for keeping me in the loop, so to speak.:-)

Jim,

You are just repeating Rush Limbaugh dishonest talking points. Al Gore did not disclose Willie Horton's name or race in the 1988 primary election.

"The first person to mention the Massachusetts furlough program in the 1988 presidential campaign was Al Gore. During a debate at the Felt Forum sponsored by the New York Daily News, Gore took issue with the furlough program. However, he did not specifically mention the Horton incident or even mention Horton's name, instead asking a general question about the Massachusetts furlough program." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Horton

The George Bush ad in the general election was a blatant play on racial fear. Before Lee Atwater died a few years later he apologized for this ad in particular. It was ugly.

Democrats are not going to waste our time on this shit. We have real issues facing this country. I realize that you know that the only way that Republicans can win is by having the election focused on anything but the real issues. But this strategy is not going to work this time.
