Who should I diavlog with?

A Bloggingheads question. Seriously (or not seriously). Who would you like to see me diavlog with? Keep in mind that the other person has to agree to it.

Here are all my old diavlogs, so you can see who I've gone with already.

Titus.

Me, or Andrew Sullivan.

Megan McArdle.

Because you both are so lucid when you begin describing things.

Jesse Jackson.

Seriously.

Bob म्हणाले...

Sir Archy.

Ken Pidcock म्हणाले...

I don't know what you'd talk about, but I'd recommend David Frum just because the two of you are the masters of the format

Ruth Anne

Jonah Goldberg

Palladian म्हणाले...

Me, obviously.

I'll second Megan McArdle. Or how bout Will Wilkinson, he'll be game.

I like people to have the same letter starting both names...

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Well since you already did one with Bella, how about doing one with Boris Karloff.

Paddy O म्हणाले...

La Shawn Barber

Gives you a chance to play the left side a little bit too.

I'd pay to see you and Sullivan together!

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Ernie Borgnine.

Seriously?

Dr. Helen (about the intersection of men's issues and feminism).

Christopher Hitchens (about faith and unfaith, and I think you could get him to do it if you just ply him with his favorite scotch)

David Zucker (about parody, humor, and no longer being a 'Hollywood liberal', plus he's got a movie to push, so I'd bet he'd say yes)

Eugene Volokh (about the US Constitution, not ConLaw and how you teach it, but your respective attitudes towards the document itself and its place in world history, and maybe a segment on group-blogging versus solo-blogging)

Unseriously?

Either of the Fug Girls from Go Fug Yourself (I think hilarity would ensue)

Leo Laporte (I think you talking with one of the bigger tech geeks on the internet could actually be interesting, but don't talk about tech, but podcasting/blogging/communication in general)

Also, since a bunch of other's have said it, me, me, me.

(although, I don't know what we'd talk about, but I'd love the traffic bump)

Ken Pidcock म्हणाले...

I'll second Camille Paglia.

Mark म्हणाले...

Terry Gross or Ira Glass

Amanda Marcotte!

Madonna? Penelope Cruz? Woody?

Failing these...Dr. Helen? Amba?
Victoria, time to step up!

Far be it from me to promote me...

Ruth Anne Adams म्हणाले...

Tammy Bruce

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Michael Savage. Hee hee.

Ruth Anne Adams म्हणाले...

Victoria [but I don't think she'd shed her anonymity]

The Anchoress [she's already shed her anonymity]

Annie Gottlieb...you could do the Cruel Neutrality diavlog as both of you are mostly undecided on the presidential thing. That would be quite interesting to the two parties

John Burgess म्हणाले...

Marcotte. Twenty paces. Pistols.

It'll be a short video, but one worth watching again and again.

More seriously, I second McArdle, Paglia, and McWorter. I'd love to see you an Volokh together as well.

Meade म्हणाले...

Dr. Helen's InstaHusband

अनामित म्हणाले...

Amanda Carpenter, PLEASE.

The problem I have with bloggingheads is that it is mainly just Bob "Testosterone Free" Wright and an endless cast of ugly Jewish guys.

I've seen Amanda on there twice. She's beautiful despite the dracula teeth and she's a crazy, never back down rightwing chick.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

I think bhtv has too often paired women to get them to talk about women's issues. I'm especially interesting in getting away from that for a while. Amanda Marcotte is exactly what I wouldn't want to do. Also, I don't want to diavlog with someone who's repeatedly insulted me in a low, personal way.

Meade म्हणाले...

Well then Insty would be ideal!

Jeff with one 'f' म्हणाले...

"I don't want to diavlog with someone who's repeatedly insulted me in a low, personal way."

The fact that Marcotte and her fellow travelers seem so threatened and offended by Ann is why I want the diavlog.

I'm sure it won't happen, though. Ann is open to dialogue while the Pandagon end of the left seem more inclined towards a foul-mouthed echo chamber, with the occasional struggle session for extra political purity.

Shawn Levasseur म्हणाले...

I'll second the Leo Laporte suggestion, if he'd be willing. With all the podcasts he's doing, he may be too busy.

The contrast with your 'podfading' and his building of the TWiT family of podcasts provides an interesting contrast.

I'd presume he'd live stream the recording, so you could have the opportunity to experience reading commenters live in the chat window at TWiTlive.tv

Unfortunately, Bitch PhD is pseudonymous (though her identity is known), but I think that would be an interesting, if unusual, choice.

Please, just no more Bella! Honestly, that diavlog was probably the only Althouse-related audio thing I ever disliked (but not because of Althouse). It was a chore to listen to. Hell, even my son asked me to turn it off, and he's been brainwashed into tolerating my penchant for listening to podcasts and talk. The only other person to whom he has that reaction is Matthew Yglesias, whose voice he actually described as "nails scratching a chalkboard," the first time I ever heard him use that phrase. I have to say I agree with him, although I'd enjoy watching you have Yglesias for lunch.

Hey, yeah, that could be cool.

Ruth Anne Adams म्हणाले...

You know you want to: Rush Limbaugh.

अनामित म्हणाले...

Ann Althouse said...I think bhtv has too often paired women to get them to talk about women's issues. I'm especially interesting in getting away from that for a while. Amanda Marcotte is exactly what I wouldn't want to do.

Right, forget Marcotte. Amanda CARPENTER!

And you wont have to talk about girly issues with her. It'll be great, do it.

blake म्हणाले...

Victoria would be an interesting choice. (I didn't know she was anonymous!)

I would like to see you diavlog with someone to your political right.

Stupe म्हणाले...

I've neve heard the word diavlog.

Is that like a divalog?

Barista? Is that like a coffee server?

All these pretentious new words.

Ruth Anne Adams म्हणाले...

Here's another positive about Amanda Carpenter: she has a regular gig on the O'Reilly Factor [internet police segment] and she might be able to put in a good word to Papa Bear.

Ken Pidcock म्हणाले...

"I would like to see you diavlog with someone to your political right."

So what about Mickey?

amba म्हणाले...

I third Camille Paglia.

amba म्हणाले...

I mean, she's a woman, but that's where the resemblance ends. There's no confining her.

saintrussell म्हणाले...

You know, the world is waiting for the Garance-Althouse rematch! But I do think it would be spiffy to see Althouse on the left, with a real right-winger on the right.
