I created a vortex on Melrose Avenue.

(Big thanks to commenter Chip Ahoy!)

If you wonder what this place is, well, you can see from the sign that it's on Melrose Avenue, so go find it.

Here's what we said at the time:
This looks like what they do on "Trading Spaces" and the people come back and hate it.

The hay-on-the-wall episode!

Yeah.

There was also the moss-on-the-wall episode. This is the twigs all over the outside of your building episode.

Looks like the Hairball of Doom to me! There's an 80 puddy tat stuck in the tar pits...

Hmmm, looking at the full sized picture, a couple of round spots show up in the sky between the top of the street light and the building.

Either you've got a few specks of dust in the camera or on the lens, or former Astronaut Capt. Ed Mitchell was right!

I love Melrose. People complain that it's been sanitized too much over the years, but I don't think so.

vbspurs म्हणाले...

Christ.

Someone check Titus' rare clumbers and see if they coughed up a hairball.

Cheers,
Victoria

Except we were friendly with a couple of Air Force officers who would laugh their asses off every time I asked about UFO's.

I don't know, Theo. Maybe that IS an UFO.

Maybe it's come to pick up Ann, as evidenced by her welcoming gesture as she leans into the hairball vortex.

If you click on the Flickr link, you can almost see a fleck which could easily be John Travolta at the controls of the Spaceship.

Then all those flying lessons of his would make sense, you know?

Anyway, I think someone should check Ann's thetans. I suspect they're very high.

Cheers,
Victoria

Those aren't Althousian vortices on that building.

They're crop circles!!!

(the 'dust' theory is losing out)

vbspurs म्हणाले...

Ooh, Theo. Whilst that doesn't raise any prideful levels in me (I'm prouder to be American now), that IS rather interesting to know.

I shall Google for more info on what you said.

Of coruse, we've always been ahead of the curve, in aircraft, after all.

From the de Havilland Gipsy, to the development of the jet itself, to Concorde, to the Harriers' verticle lift-off wotsit. If it flies, it's British!

Oops, sorry, no. That's wrong. If it LEAKS, it's British.

I'm feelin' all the MG owners. Sorry guys.

Cheers,
Victoria

I think that your hairball vortex qualifies as art in LA. Best consult an agent; there's probably a celebrity that will want to buy it.

Ron म्हणाले...

"Midwestern Phototrix doesn't understand that standing too close to the collection of Bruce Willis toupees may anger it, and it will ravage Wilshire...again!"

Chip Ahoy म्हणाले...

Behold, the power of the vortex.

I'm Full of Soup म्हणाले...

Chip - don't know how you did that. But I liked it LOL.

Perhaps you are part of this Black Budget which I just heard of today? Chip makes stuff that looks like a UFO!

I'm Full of Soup म्हणाले...

Chip:

Can you make Ann dance in sync with the vortex?

William म्हणाले...

Sun bleached pavement. A woman in black clothes with unfastened hair. Beside her a vine that tightens upon itself in agony. In the background, a red sign says STOP. This is not another perfect day in paradise. This is some Sophoclean moment where the brightness of the sun mocks the darkness of events....Divorce is always painful but butchering your son and feeding the corpse to your husband will only make things worse. But these events are pre ordained and nothing will change the outcome.

AllenS म्हणाले...

William--

I think you've been out in the sun too long.

The first episode of TS was the hay on the wall episode! I thought it was horrible and never watched again.

vbspurs म्हणाले...

LOL!!!

Best vortex Photoshop EVER, Chip!

Victoria

Kudos, to Althouse and Chip Ahoy for joining creative forces. Excellent teamwork guys! Melrose Ave. has some nifty shops selling new and old clothes and other stuff that cater mostly to trendy locals and tourists. A splashy, flashy tee-shirt for $45 is out of my price range, unfortunately.

BoingBoing called out the artist of this sculpture today. Maybe you saw it.
