Today's café: EVP, on the east side.

With Chris...

At EVP

... who's got only a few hours left before he's a quarter of a century old.

Tablescape #2:

At EVP

At EVP, people make drawings and slip them under the glass tabletops. Go there, and see if you can find the one I drew!

Now what exactly is it makes me think it was a liberal who drew that bomb?

*checks assumptions*

It's not the slightest bit ironic that a chief liberal axiom is that it's Republicans who are the fear mongers. I've yet to meet a Democrat who genuinely wishes me happiness.

Chip Ahoy म्हणाले...

I would guess you drew the one with flowers because you post botanically so frequently. Other than that, I got nuth'n.

Chip Ahoy म्हणाले...

Did you guys drink a whole pitcher of beer?

Chip Ahoy म्हणाले...

Happy birthday, you stud.

Ron म्हणाले...

Did you draw the leaves under the 'St. Martins Griffen' book?

Simon म्हणाले...

Happy birthday in advance, Chris!

Nobody does droodles anymore. (``Ship arriving too late to save a drowning witch.'')

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

My drawing isn't in the picture, or I wouldn't have said you should go to the café to find it.

Chris Althouse Cohen म्हणाले...

Thank you, Chips Ahoy and Simon.

Most children wish to be conceived in the Spring. Jesus was conceived in the Spring, and children conceived in Springtime are the happiest of all.

Late August is not a good time to conceive a child.

Beth म्हणाले...

Happy birthday, Chris. May the next quarter century be excellent, too.

vbspurs म्हणाले...

Happy Birthday, Chris!

The only birthday present I can give you is: GO HILLARY!

Cheers,
Victoria

"Did you guys drink a whole pitcher of beer?"

LOL. They serve latte in a glass mug.

Acne Vulgaris म्हणाले...

Children conceived in the spring are more obnoxious.

Besides, everybody knows the place of conception is far more important than the time.

I'm one of the lucky ones: I got to see, and critique, my own conception thanks to my parents videotaping it.

Cool, huh?

Wow, it's the Voice of the Future -- Paris Hilton's first kid!

What will they invent next.

Zachary Sire म्हणाले...

Add me to the list of well-wishers, Chris...Happy Birthday!

p.s. your hair looks cute ;)

Palladian म्हणाले...

Oh happy birthday adorable Christopher! Mine was Thursday.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Happy birthday, Palladian.

अनामित म्हणाले...

Wow, Chris looks like he's seen a vision of impending doom.

Either it's because he's about to turn 25 or because he's a Hillary voter.

Take heart. You still have another 5 years of life.

And Hillary will try again in 2012 after Old Man McCain serves his 4 years.

former law student म्हणाले...

Enjoy saving money on your car insurance -- and turning 25 is certainly easier than getting married, the only other way to get such savings. But, this is the last milestone birthday that most people look forward to celebrating -- 30, etc. all have a sense of "over the hill" attached to them.

TitusThe Lebanon म्हणाले...

Happy Birthday Chris and happy birthday my beloved Palladian.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

I think people look forward to turning 100. Maybe even 90 and 80 too. It's an accomplishment. No longer: I'll have to go soon, but finally: I stayed extra long.

blake म्हणाले...

joedripper apparently thinks Christopher lives in Logan's Run.

(Happy birthday, Christopher, Palladian and Mac spokesman Justin Long!)

EVousP Coffee is way too sludgy and strong for me. It's even too strong for my wife! I'm having a Barriques Iced this morning -- not as good as Indie Iced coffee, but...

Happy Birthhday Chris! 25 is a great age.

I'm looking forward to living to 105, so people can ask me if I remember the Kennedy assassination -- I was 3 at the time, and don't, but in the year 2065 maybe I'll lie.

But Hillary wants to be the first female President, and whether McCain wins this year or not, the chances are pretty good that our nominee in 2012 will be Governor Palin, and non-negligible that it will be Vice-President Palin. McCain has to pick a veep, and he could do worse.

Governor Palin gave birth to a son with Down's syndrome a few months ago.

She will not be the VP on the McCain ticket.

McCain will pick Romney as VP.

Not to be cynical, oh heck, let's do it anyway -- but that's a very good reason to choose her.

As Ruth Anne alluded to on my blog, that unselfish act speaks to Conservatives more than a resumé enhancer like Harvard Law.

Cindy and John McCain adopted a girl from Bangladesh with a cleft-palate, who needed extensive operations to make her speak normally.

The pain of parenting is something which resonates with all people.

McCain will pick Romney as VP.

That's unbeatable, but I confess, I think I would prefer Palin.

Cheers,
Victoria

Beth म्हणाले...

Victoria,

McCain's unselfish act didn't speak to all Conservatives in the same way. It spoke "opportunity to smear" to Bush operatives in 2000 in South Carolina.
